The biggest acquisition made this offseason has to be the Baltimore Hawks offensive line. When the announcement was made, many believed these individuals wouldn’t be able to go all the way. Things like worn out, dried up, and impotent were used to describe them. How could a gang of aging adult star be effective in the NSFL? All these individuals, who made millions creating and exploiting gaping holes, would now need close the gap and prevent the defensive rush from penetrating into the backfield. But in a game of inches, this group reigns supreme. Most recently, the gang was able to double team (which they are proficient) Jayce Tuck and hold him to zero sacks. He was beat off the line for 60 minutes and I wouldn’t be surprised if he doesn’t walk right for a week. Even the running game has benefitted from their presence. Owen Taylor just keeps pounding away. You want to load 8 men in the box? This teams calls that a party. Now, after 5 weeks have passed, we can see just how well they have performed when thrust into action. Collectively, they have allowed just 6 sacks, while guard Dirk Diggler and tackle Ron Jeremy are 2nd and 4th respectively in pancakes. Experts have attributed this to both men being able to get into a 3 point stance while remaining fully upright. We can see that their work ethic has infected the locker room as more Baltimore receivers are going deep every chance they get.
