Avon Blocksdale came into this league as an offensive guard. He wasn't considered the best offensive line prospect. In fact, Avon Blocksdale was considered very mediocre. In fact Avon Blocksdale was the fourth offensive linemen taken by the Baltimore Hawks. Avon started out as one of the guards for the team, as he was behind beasts Brokk Lee and Dieter Koch. Half way through Season 2 Avon Blocksdale quickly transitioned into the right offensive tackle position. At this point Avon Blocksdale thought this would be the biggest transition he would make. He thought the only change left in his career would be switching to Left tackle, which Avon Blocksdale did in season 3. In season 3 Avon Blocksdale was a pro bowl level left tackle and Avon Blocksdale thought he would be at that position for years to come.
Coming into the Season 3 off season heading into Season 4 there were a lot of concerns regarding offensive line play. This is where Avon Blocksdale's career came to a true turning point. After speaking with his general manager it was decided that offensive left tackle Avon Blocksdale would switch from the offensive line to Quarterback. This was a huge decision for Avon Blocksdale and it's one that changed the trajectory of his career.
