Written: Must include 200 words. Many players changed teams around the league this off season. After 4 weeks of play, choose a player and/or team and write about their decisions in free agency. Did they pick the wrong team? Did they pay somebody too much? Is somebody a perfect fit?
We all saw the curious case of Jaylon Lee in the offseason. Disgruntled, unhappy with the reigning Ultimus champions, it looked like he was primed for an escape from the team. He seemed to finally get his choice and leave the place he was not happy in. That’s when the trouble started. First, he was tagged with the restricted free agent mark, basically meaning even if he did decide to leave, Arizona could easily keep him on the team. Naturally he was a huge part of their defense, and would be a massive acquisition for any team, and a big blow to the Outlaws if he was allowed to walk without any compensation. He decided to leave, specifically he had chosen to go to the Liberty, a rising team that seemed to be ready to make a push for the top NSFC spot. But Arizona would have the last laugh. First, even though it seemed like they weren’t going to match, they did. To add insult to this they had already made a trade before they ever matched, and never gave the Liberty a shot at getting him, as they were asking too much for the star LB. This lead to him in San Jose, where he is playing out a 1 year deal, and will hopefully choose his next spot.
