When it comes down the career of Carlito Crush, only one decision really stood out to him. When he was in high school in the Dominican Republic, Carlito was a man among boys. He was really a monster in the high school league, as his father’s wrestling genes were taking over and causing him to grow quite large. He had lots of fun at home, winning wherever he went. When he got the call to go over to the states and play in the big high school seniors game in San Antonio, he initially declined. He didn’t have interest in coming to the states and being scouted. College football was not on his radar. He was happy to stay with his family and live in the DR, potentially following in his father’s footsteps and becoming an amazing wrestler, known worldwide. However, he read a sports article online that changed everything. It said that Carlito was just like his dad in that he was comfortable being a big fish in a small pond, never wanting to truly test himself against the best of the best. (Brutus Crush never went to the WWE, and staying an indie darling his whole career.) Carlito, with tremendous amounts of respect for his dad, took that to heart and instead changed his mind. He went to the game, performed well, and ended up going to Ohio State. The rest, is well, history. (236)
