One decision that could have drastically changed where Darnell Turner is today is his decision to re sign with the Baltimore Hawks rather than to hit free agency and see what his true value is worth. When he signed his contract after his rookie deal ended in S2, it was for one of the highest totals of all season 2 rookies. He received 5 million dollars every season with the contract lasting 3 seasons, the longest it could possibly be. This was actually one of the highest contracts in the entire league at the time although it was dwarfed by the Josh Bercovici deal and now is miniscule compared to the Josh Garden contract. What if he had decided not to resign with the Hawks? Being one of the best players on the defense, the Hawks may have not been able to make the playoffs in season 3. If he had gone to an AFSC team, this likely wouldn't have mattered. However, if he had gone to the Wraiths or to the Liberty(this team would likely be completely different if he went there as Cushing may not have gone there) both of those teams would have had a better chance to make the Ultimus.
