Thanksgiving was this past Thursday. Something relatively new for Cameron Taylor. Canadian Thanksgiving is in October. But now, having spent 4 Thanksgivings in Michigan and one in Portland, Taylor is more used to the idea. That being said, the trip back to Canada every October is a must for a real thanksgiving feast chez the Taylors. The real difference this year was Taylor has a new family now, trading in Michigan entourage for his new partners in crime, the Portland Python Squad. Being in Portland, shopping for Thanksgiving wasn't as easy as it is in Canada or the rest of America. The local shops only provided artisinal stuffing, organic grain fed humanely slaughtered turkeys, vegan pickles, and hand picked potatoes. It was a little extra, but this is home now. Thursday involved putting in a big old bird, turning on ESPN, and kicking back and relaxing until the day long fast ended at dinner time. Enough Turkey was eaten and enough beer was drunk to subdue a moose so it was a very successful day. Having the week off of games meant that Taylor had a little free time to heal his body and his mind before the playoff push starts Tuesday.
