Now that the draft has been completed and rookies have joined their brand-new teams, I am looking forward to seeing how John Wachter makes an impact on the now stacked wide receiver corps of the Baltimore Hawks. It is evident that he’s the most inexperienced of a corps that includes Trey Willie, Alexandre LeClair and Stormblessed but he has all the tools at his disposal to make an immediate impact and show the NSFL that his amazing season in the DSFL was not a fluke. A season on the championship winning Portland Pythons that saw him amass 1144 yards and 5 touchdowns and eventually clean house in the awards show, collecting DSFL’s Most Outstanding Player award, Offensive Rookie of the Year, Offensive Player of the Year and MVP as voted by the GMs & head office.

With such a resumé, expectations will be high and 500+ yards with 3+ touchdowns are not in the realm of impossibility. Stormblessed hasn’t shown the greatest signs of longevity and with enough effort on his part, I would not be surprised to see Wachter take the 3rd receiver slot away from him by mid-season. He should be a contender for offensive rookie of the year in the NSFL.
