This holiday season Blackford Oakes is working to clear his name and get some peace of mind. After Connor Tanner's unsuccessful attempt at blackmailing him into retirement Tanner has had it out for Oakes, sabotaging endorsement deals, spreading rumors, and leaking privileged information.
The former Las Vegas Legion tight end, as everyone knows, orchestrated a mass retirement from the team recently because.... reasons... and while he was somewhat successful wasn't able to get everyone to retire. One of the holdouts was Blackford Oakes. This hasn't sit well with Tanner as he took it as a personal slight and has been striking back at the young safety since.
The assault began in the immediate aftermath of the mass retirement as Connor Tanner wasted no time in fabricating a story that Oakes had slept with the wife of the McDonald's CEO which submarined his upcoming tendies ad campaign. Oakes attempted to explain the situation to McDonald's but it was to no avail.
Most recently, a story appeared on TMZ with screenshots of old conversations Blackford Oakes had in middle and high school. In his youth, Oakes had no filter and was fond of friendly flaming which now looks even worse out of context. Learning his lesson, Oakes has begun an operation of revenge as he tries to end Tanner's influence over his life once and for all. He planted those seeds over the holidays, hiring 1337 hackers to sabotage Tanner's computer so that it blue screens every few hours and covertly planting Legos in his house at night to make his floor a minefield of misery.
