In Week 13, Boss Tweed will play his final game in Colorado, the place where his entire career began. Before being selected 99th Overall in the Inaugural Draft, no one would have expected Tweed to make the impact he has today, but in his ten year career he is almost a shoe in for the football Hall of Fame. Tweed's career is one of amazing success, amazing lows, and huge highs in both his time in Colorado and his time in Yellowknife. In the second last match up of the year, Yellowknife and Colorado will fight over the second playoff spot remaining in the NSFC, a spot that will be very tightly contested especially in this year's climate. On one hand you have the all-around machine that is the Colorado Yeti, while on the other you have a dynamic Wraiths offense consisting of Tegan Atwell, Glen McPoyal, Robby Rainey, Eric Kennedy and sophomore quarterback Brad Pennington and with strong defensive backing by legendary defensive back Dermot Lavelle and huge safety Cameron Taylor. This will certainly be one of the most interesting games to watch this year, and will be full of huge plays and giant changes in pace. Tune in Friday night.
One player that we had an immediate reunion with was Josh Garden. We traded him to the Orange County Otters and our very next game was against them. It was great to see Josh still out there on the field and we were definitely in the mindset that we were going to have fun with it. Of course this season hasn't been going that great overall, but we've still been having some fun on the field and this was just another opportunity. Josh only managed 4 catches for 31 yards, but he also dropped three passes and Lucari Felix broke up another and even one play I think Josh was a bit winded as he pulled up barely jogging as the ball sailed past him. Any time Josh caught the ball or dropped it or anything like that we always made sure to give him a hard time, asking if he needed help up, if his hip was ok, and a couple times made an impression of him walking like an old person with a cane and a bad back. In all honesty it was a lot of fun and in good nature, but towards the end of the game you could really tell it was getting to him as he threw a low block and got penalized for it. |------------------------------------------|
