If I were to select someone who went on to be a major draft bust, it has to be the Chicago butchers and Sweet James-Jones. They had two first round picks that draft, they originally had 3, but gave up 1 to the wraiths in exchange for Ryan Leaf Jr, and that pick traded to the wraiths became Rayne Gordon, one the leagues most underrated receivers right now. Sweet was a bust for a couple of reasons, the first reason was his ridiculous contract demands. After the butchers were not able to sign Marcella Toriki in free agency, and reportedly giving her a 20 mil contract, sweet James-Jones SA’s the opportunity to get that extra money, had several contract disputes between himself and general managers ValorX77, and toasty, he eventually settled on a one year contract, paying him 7.5 million on that one lackluster season he played. The second reason was his personality, he tried to act like a rapper, and then later, would include explicit words, and then threatened a few others, resulting in him being permanently banned from the national Simulation Football league. He is arguably the greatest draft bust in the national Simulation Football league, and a note to general managers to watch the personality of the player the team considers to draft.

I would like to posit that CB Lucari Felix is the biggest draft bust in league history. He was drafted 3rd overall by the Philadelphia Liberty in the S10 draft. Coming off of a disappointing 4-10 season in which they were last in their division, Philly needed to make some improvements. Instead of drafting franchising altering QB Joliet Christ, who was just inducted into the Hall of Fame, Philadelphia selected Felix. The S10 season went horribly for Philadelphia, and they went 0-14 that season. Felix, however, had a solid year, with 3 interceptions and 16 passes defended. Philadelphia had a bounce back year in S11, going 7-7. Lucari Felix had an even better year than his rookie debut, and had 4 interceptions and 21 passes defended. For this great effort, Felix was awarded his first Pro-Bowl selection. Felix looked like a great pick after two years, as one of the best young defensive players in the league. But alas, every great bust must first have high expectations. The bigger they are the harder they fall. Despite Philadelphia's rise to relevance, Felix went inactive. He had two more solid years for Philly, though not Pro-Bowl performances, before washing up, never to be heard from again. His career which started with such great promise, ended before he could reach his full potential. Given that Philly reached five consecutive championships in the time period that would have been Felix's peak, one wonders if they could have one more than two of those Ultimus Bowls if they had had an elite corner in Felix.
To answer this one I decided I'd take my own walk down memory lane and visit my own Season 17 draft class to pick a bust for this answer. When re visiting the draft class one thing I noticed which actually somewhat impressed me is that the entire first round managed to stay relatively active including 5 of us who are currently over 1000 TPE and a couple more getting damn close. I think it was clear to everyone heading into the draft that Ashley Owens was the consensus number 1 pick and as it sits now he currently has the fifth most TPE in the class ... does that make him a bust?I don't think so. To find a "bust" in this class I think you have to slide all the way to the second round. I'm going out and calling the entire S17 second rounds busts (except Action Jackson). First pick in the second round was Takeada Okura who has been somewhat active but has only managed to acquire 375 TPE to date. Willie Woodson came into that draft considered as the second best CB in the draft behind me and he got picked with the 4th pick second round...he is currently a free agent with 164 TPE. The list continues with more second rounds IAs such as Max Lovote , AC Payton, and Ducky Donuts. Needless to say there wasn't much depth in that class!
I see a lot of people trying to say that their own player is the biggest bust of all time, and they're wrong. But when I say that my previous player is the biggest bust of all time, it might well be no real exaggeration. Cordell Joshua was an Ultimus winning, Pro Bowl defensive lineman. But he didn't just waste one 1st round pick for the San Jose Sabercats, but two. The Sabercats gave up their S7 first round pick to move up a spot and prevent Joshua from being drafted by the Philadelphia Liberty in the S6 draft, meaning the Sabercats invested 3rd overall in S6 and 3rd overall again in S7 into getting Joshua. And what happened? He lasted 3 seasons with the Sabercats before walking, joining the Baltimore Hawks just as they made a real run at the Ultimus. Joshua had a pretty good career with the Hawks all things considered, but in terms of the Sabercats and the draft, this was a huge miss. I think Joshua could well be unique in that he wasted multiple first round draft picks for a franchise, and it surely put San Jose in a bad spot. I can only offer my apologies for the way the situation turned out looking back, it's certainly a rough one.
I don’t know how you don’t go with Rickey Ramero. He had it all going for him before getting drafted first overall. He won an Ultimini in San Antonio in S6, made the Pro Bowl and went first overall in the S8 draft to the Colorado Yeti. Sure he did well his first couple of seasons, but by the time he won back-to-back two Ultimus rings, he was a bot. Ramero got the Weekend at Bernies treatment in Orange County. He probably wasn’t even checked in enough to realize they had won. I guess at least we have closure, Ramero had an official retirement. I don’t feel too badly for him, though. People liked him, he didn’t run himself out of town with jackassery, he’s a champion in both leagues and he made a butt-ton of money he probably didn’t know he had. Every professional sport needs its bust, and Rickey Ramero is the finest example for the NSFL. Three years after his retirement, he actually made the Hall of Fame ballot. I don’t know if that was a joke or if the league actually thought he was legitimately worthy of being on the ballot. Of course, he got zero votes so we can all sleep soundly. I did hear he’s got some kids kicking around on the football field, but will the NSFL even bother?
With a severe and unfortunate case of memory loss concerning anything related to beyond S21, very very reliable and trusted sources from all around Tijuana and of course, countless seconds of research has led me to only one conclusion for my pick as the greatest NSFL draft bust of all time. A man by the name of Gimmy Jaroppolo, drafted in the S15 NSFL Draft (so I've been told). Though I have absolutely no conclusive evidence about why he is truly the greatest draft bust of all time, you need look no further than his name. His first name is Gimmy, a symbol of his selfishness and reckless head-first attitude. In games, it is said that he has absolutely no concern for the safety of his teammates or even winning, laying out his receivers for fun, throwing hail mary's on first downs, and running the ball himself on 4th & 10's. He is also rumoured to not have any restraint whatsoever, freely giving harsh criticism to any and all of his teammates. An anonymous former teammate said that Gimmy Jaroppolo had once yelled during a team meeting that if it weren't for the rules he would play by himself on both sides of the field and win more games. Clearly, thanks to my accurate and definitive evidence and statistics, you can be led to no other conclusion but that Gimmy Jaroppolo is the greatest NSFL draft bust of all time.
