Calkewlated Chambers III, being a rookie, has had a very short short pro-career. Nonetheless, here are three memories that stand out for Cal.

"The night of the draft":
Cal was sitting in his car listening to the draft live. He was very excited and hoping for that phone call. There was whispers that his hold out did not sit well with some members of the NSFL community. He had already been contacted by multiple GMs and was actually a little excited about the prospect of a year away from his "destiny" to improve and learn from some of the better teams in the league. While he was picturing himself in different uniforms the phone rang. The call had come. The Sabercats, with the overall 21st pick of the S3 NSFL draft, and selected him.

"Locker room talk":
Cal quickly nicknamed Cake by his teammates learned that the team he had been selected by was a pretty cool group. Especially since we have been entertaining ourselves with the PC game of Overwatch. This team building exercise has really made a lasting impression on Cake.

"First Touch"
Finally, Week 3 of his rookie year, Cal touched the football for the first time. It was a forced fumble by, I believe Dan Miller. He jumped on the ball giving the Sabercats possession. Feeling everyone dog pile on him after he had recovered it was a painful exhilarating feeling. "I made it. I'm in the NSFL."

Brice Boggs is a man of many stories. His career started in the small town of Paris, Kentucky. On the high school team, he was a monster, playing running back, linebacker, as well as handling returning duties. He was known as the fast, scrappy kid who was willing to give it all on the field. During his senior year, his team, the Paris Sheriffs were playing the Nashville Cowboys, the best team in all of Kentucky. His quarterback, Jordan Glopes, was having a rough day, throwing three picks in the first quarter. Brice knew the team had to step it up. He was fairly surprised when coach pulled Glopes from the game and inserted backup quarterback, Max Huntleman. Huntleman, a sophomore, was definitely shaky in his first game getting some meaningful playing time. He emphasized this by fumbling his first snap. The Cowboys scooped up the football and took all the way back. "Damn it! Damn it!" Boggs heard from the sideline. Looking helpless, the coach watched the Cowboys kick it off, and Boggs return it for 25 yards. He was running out of ideas when a crazy one popped into his head. "Timeout, ref." He yelled, while signaling for one. He got close to Boggs and said "Hey, our quarterbacks are off today. I want you to go in and play QB." The idea bewildered Boggs, but he dutifully entered the huddle, with his backup playing running back. He got into the huddle and called out for the play TE Skinny Post. He snapped the ball, dropped back in the pocket. Pressure was coming, so he ran around and doubled back. On the run, he was out of ideas. Then he saw his tight end wide open, the safety who was assigned to him had stumbled. Boggs settled his feet, rocked back, and fired a perfect spiral right towards the tight end, who caught it in mid stride and took it to the house. The refs signaled for a touchdown! Boggs went on to win the game, with a stat line of:

The most memorable times of Carter's career undoubtedly came when he was in college and did a bunch of dumb shit with Wyatt Fulton. Those events might seem unrelated to football but when you closely analyze them, you realize that they helped shape him into the player he is today.

Defending Wyatt from weird girls met in clubs

Wyatt Fulton and Philippe Carter liked hitting the club during their studies at Colorado State. It wasn't rare that girls would run to their table and flirt with them because they were on the football team. It was fun most of the time but sometimes, some weirdo would show up. She'd have tons of freaking pictures of Fulton taken at nighttime or from a bush and it was just creepy as hell. Carter would do what all best friends do in that situation: TACKLE THAT BITCH. That's how he got some tackling abilities early in his career.



Pretending to be Wyatt during exams

Carter always knew he was going to play football because he was just that good. So when he picked his major for university, he went with women's study. He'd just have to write about how men are pigs and get A+ everywhere. Fulton didn't plan that far ahead. He picked international studies, and having an intelligence in the 50s, had a hard time recognizing things. When the exam relied heavily on memory, Phil would wear a blonde wig and do the exam for his bud. The teacher didn't know better. He had to learn quick and for that reason, acquired some points in intelligence.



Sing like mad at the karaoke bar

One way to build up your endurance is to be the Korea Karaoke Klub (they didn't think this through)'s reigning karaoke champion. All those nights singing like madmen at the club prepared Fulton and Carter to play football in the most unforgiving conditions. They can even stay a couple of plays without drinking any water and that my friends is how you go from being a decent football player to a fucken legend.

Although Budda has had a short career up until this point, this does not negate from the facts: He was a FANTASTIC collegiate player. As many of you know he was a very mobile QB at the time, he even declared for the draft as a QB before being asked to switch to WR. Either way, in the 2016-2017 season Browning led University of Washington to a 45-10 route over Colorado University in the PAC-12 Championship. This would help solidify his draft stock and proved what he could do against a talented defense such as CU. As a result UW finished the regular season 12-1 at #4 in the nation. As a result they would be invited to their first ever College Football Playoff appearance! Lucky for them, they had to come up against the #1 team in the nation: The Alabama Crimson Tide, in the Peach Bowl. Everything that occurred in that game we don't talk about. Although a great season came to a sad ending, it is still an amazing memory. Not only was UW able to take home a conference championship, but Budda was able to take home some hardware for himself. In 2015 he won PAC-12 Freshman of the Year AND PAC-12 OPOY. An award he would take home for THREE STRAIGHT YEARS! He also won the Pac-12 Championship POTG. Unfortunately, he would come up short in the Heisman voting in his historic 2016-2017 conference championship run. We can only imagine what damage Baker would have caused had he stayed at the "U" for an additional year.

Chapter 1

Draft Day. The morning of the S1 NSFL Draft was a rare showing of jitters and anxiety for Dominic Verns. He was well braced for his draft stock falling, scouts were worried about his injury past and labeled him a “tweener” - a talent without a real position in the pros. It would be a long while before that anxiety was quelled. The Orange County Otters finally called Verns’ name in the Twenty First round with the 121st pick.

Chapter 2

The Rise. Verns was thrust into a starting role with the Otters at strong safety but failed to make an immediate impact. He played in a rotating secondary seeing time at NB along with both safety roles before coming into his own as the Otters’ “$LB”, or “Moneybacker.” When asked which moment sticks out in his mind he replied quickly, “Week 14 at home versus the Outlaws to close out the season. No doubt. I had the biggest smile on my face the entire time running that pick back. Unreal feeling to come through for the rest of the guys like that.” Verns finished that game with 7 tackles and the aforementioned pick-six.

Chapter 3

The Future. “Bittersweet.” Dom replied when asked post-game how he felt about his record setting night against Arizona. “It’s obviously hard to be happy after a loss - any loss. Sure I went out and had a pretty good game but in the end it’s the ‘W’ that matters and we didn’t get it done. It’s a big moment, I got the game ball from the officials, but now it’s time to look forward to next week.

When William Ridley first ran out onto the field in Volunteer Orange he was a bundle of nerves. Ridley lined up on kick coverage as a freshman. He saw the ball leave his kickers foot and he was after it. He was never the fastest kid on the field, but he blew right past wedge blocker after wedge blocker until he had the return man in his sights, he picked his approach angle, as he drew closer, he lowered his shoulder to make firm contact, and nothing. The returner skipped past and worked his way toward a 30 yard gain by finding a crease in the hole Ridley left by outrunning his coverage team. Ridley decided then and there he would never try to make highlight plays at the expense of the team again.

Game 1 of his rookie season Ridley makes a single sack (his only registered tackle) in a lackluster performance in a well defeated side against the Otters. Ridley doesn’t want to fill up the stat sheet at the expense of the team, but he knew his performance was unacceptable, he had to improve.

In Game 5 Ridley didn’t light up the stat sheet, his 2 sacks were a season high for him, but more importantly his team won their first game since Ridley was drafted, and that winning feeling is the biggest highlight of all.

Avon Blocksdale has a had few great moments in the NSFL. It's hard to narrow it down to just three, but let's try.

Being drafted by the Baltimore Hawks

Avon was a late arriver in the S2 draft, and no one really knew what to expect from him. He had not earned much TPE by the time the draft came around, though he showed flashes of being dedicated. @HENDRIX GM of the of the Hawks did not care about Avon's relative lack of experience and drafted him in the fourth round, with two other offensive linemen. The pick turned out to be a steal as Avon is one of the most dedicated offensive linemen in the league, and a staple for this Baltimore Hawks team.

Going to the Ultimus is S2

Before Avon the S2 draftees got to Baltimore the team was in dire straights. They had just finished as one of the worst teams in the league, and outside the Baltimore Locker Room no one expected them to do much of anything. However the Hawks were awesome. Avon was invaluable as the Hawks went a perfect 7-0 at home. Avon allowed only 3 sacks all year (and none in his two playoff games). This included a dominant performance on the road against Arizona where Avon had a ridiculous 10 pancake game without allowing any sacks against Jayce Tuck and the Arizona Outlaws.

Shutting Down Ricky Maddox

Everyone has heard of Ricky Maddox, and his switch to DE was supposed to mean there was a new top DE in town. But in week 2 Maddox failed to record a single stat (aside from penalties) and Avon was a machine, having 8 pancakes and 0 sacks allowed. Avon shut him down hard.

The most memorable moment from Clifford Rove's Career had to have been his Rose Bowl game against Penn State while still in college. Back when Rove was a Sophomore, Michigan was not expected to go anywhere with their season, they were considered too young. But Rove had an incredible season, and led them to the Rose Bowl against heavily favored Penn State. Suffice it to say, Rove had a great game, passing for over 300 yards, while also throwing 3 touchdowns. This game put Rove on the map of a lot of NSFL teams, and people in general.

Another memorable moment for Clifford Rove was his game last night against the Wraiths this season. He had a pretty terrible start to the season, throwing four times the interceptions as TD's. However, in last night's showing he was able to pile up a lot of yards while also throwing 2 touchdowns, and helping lead the Liberty to their first victory of the season.

The last memorable moment for Clifford Rove is his first game of high school. He didn't decide to play football until his freshman year, and he had such talent that by the time he was a sophomore, he was running the varsity team. He remembers being so nervous before and at the start of the game that his hands were shaking. While he didn't get the win, he says that game confirmed his love for football, and allowed him to continue on the path that he had decided to follow.
