Perspective: Silver Fox, Liberty GM
Well, the low point for me at least this season was the loss at the Hawks, week 4 this season. We’d just come off a disappointing tie at the SaberCats, which was a game I was expecting to win. Rove was having a lot of rookie growing pains, and it was becoming clear that our offensive line improvements weren’t enough to make a significant difference. We’d lost all four preseason games, and 3 of the first 4 regular season games. I had to keep reminding myself, trust the process, trust the process. The high point so far is right where we’re at. We won 8 of the last 10 games, enough to clinch a playoff spot. We even won against the Yeti at their home week 8, which was a surprise win for me, but it made up for that tie against the SaberCats. While Rove still takes too many risks, he’s certainly started to back it up with results, and I couldn’t be happier with Fox, Paul, Damien, and Budda catching the ball. Even Omar has been pulling off some longer runs, helped when Kamaka switched to OL. It looks like we’re a stronger team than the Wraiths now, and the Yeti imploded during the season, so we just need to take down the Hawks and we’ll be in good shape. We won’t be dominant in our division unlike the Outlaws, but we’ll certainly make it interesting. [div align=center]

The high point for me this season was helping the Baltimore Hawks return as the number one seed in the NSFC. When I was first drafted, their receiving core was looking pretty good. Soon after, there was Cooper Christmas going inactive followed by Matthew Vincent announcing his retirement. I was happy that I could step up and fill a new and very necessary hole. My S3 rookie performance concluded with 1163 yards (which was good for 7th best in the league), 3 TDs (which actually kind of sucks), and an 18.2 yards per catch average (which is 3rd best in the league). I can’t take all the credit as Scrub Kyubee played a very good season, our offensive line played very well, and coach put together a competent strategy for every match-up. Headed into the NSFC championship game, we are slight favorites and could very well see a rematch of last year’s Ultimus between the Arizona Outlaws and the Baltimore Hawks. Obviously, winning the championship game would be a new high point on the season and winning the Ultimus would be the high point for any season.
The biggest low point of the season was that I scored zero TDs after week 7. [div align=center][/select]

Calkewlated Chambers III high point this season was the preseason and Week 12. Cal had high expectations entering the league and wanted to prove himself early. He did this in the second preseason game where he led the team in defensive stats. He had a great preseason but that tapered off and his play became relatively quiet. His best game was when the Sabertcats defeated the Yellowknife Wraiths. He recorded 6 tackles with 2 for a loss. Despite not the best stat line in the game, it was a good victory which kept their playoff hopes alive. His parents actually made the trip out San Jose to watch that game. It was the first game which Cal had family present.
Calkewlated Chambers III low point this season was week 13 against the Arizona Outlaws. Seeing his season slipping away as the Otters were winning their games and clinching their playoff berth, The Sabercats were playing the best team in the league. Cal had 3 major mental mistakes that cost his team 25 yards in penalties. It was a defeat that hit hard for his first season after the NSFL draft. If anything he will work hard on the off season to return a stronger and faster player. Word count 207 [div align= "Center"]

The highpoint for Jaylon Lee this season would have to be when he got 3 sacks in a game. That was the first time he's had a chance to really get after the quarterback and he executed the plan well. He was disruptive in the backfield all day, showing that he an be a dominant edge rusher if he is put up to it. He has always said that he would be just as good at any other linebacker in any spot if he was out there. He is one of the most talented players in the league so it isn't a far fetched claim, but it was awesome to see him do that. The whole season has really been a low. He hasn't gotten the tackles like he usually does, but he has been better in pass coverage and blitzing than usual. It still has been hard for him to cope with not leading the team in tackles in every game. Also when he was told that he wasn't wanted in Arizona by management, it hurt him quite a bit after all the time and effort he had given to the team. So fuck that, but it has still been a decent season I guess.

The high point for Mayran Jackson was getting over the 100 yard receiving yards mark for the second straight season. Becoming even more of a threat in the passing game and getting his name out there more as a player with exceptional pass catching talent.
The low points were many to be honest. The first was seeing Noble disrespect his teammates by cheating at the start of the season and putting the Yeti at a disadvantage. Trusting a young quarterback like that is iffy and something Jackson was reluctant to do. Turns out to be a good hesitation becomes Noble went and slapped his teammates in the face. The good thing is that he got a trade request and found his way to the Sabercats where he was going to be in a crowded receiver group. Unfortunately he was not even dressed for the their first game because the team forgot to file the proper paperwork. That makes his numbers more impressive because he didn't have any catches in the one game he didn't play in. Ethan Hunt seems to like Weston in the redone and that hurt Jackson's confidence as he was looking for a big role and didn't get it. ![]() ![]()
Ironically, for Eric Kennedy, his high point and low point of the season both came against the Philadelphia Liberty. In week 5, as the Wraiths traveled to Philly to face the Liberty, Kennedy was only given the chance to run the ball twice, netting a total yardage of exactly 0. In addition, he wasn’t able to land a single catch, causing his combined offensive yardage to be the same as if he wasn’t even on the field at all. He did record 1 pancake in the blocking unit and did not allowed any sacks, but was otherwise a non-factor in the offense. The Liberty picked up a 35-22 win over the Wraiths.
Perhaps motivated by his poor performance earlier in the season, Kennedy was fired up when the Liberty traveled to Yellowknife, where they would face the Wraiths on their home turf. Here, Kennedy only received 3 carries, but made the most of it, netting his team 14 yards on the ground. In addition, this time, he was heavily involved in the passing game, hauling in an impressive 10 catches. He walked out of the game with 45 receiving yards and a receiving touchdown. On top of that, he was still an asset in the blocking unit as he recorded 2 pancakes and was once again able to prevent any defenders from getting past him to score a sack on Quarterback Chris Orosz. Fittingly, the Wraiths were also able to get a measure of revenge for their team as they defeated the Liberty 17-14 in front of the Yellowknife fans. 260 Words
The lowest point of the season for Fuego Wozy occurred week 11 against Angus Winchester and the Orange County Otters. It was a big challenge for Fuego Wozy going against the best OL in the league but he failed miserably. In that game, he recorded only 2 tackles and one tackle for loss. The yeti only got one sack against the Otters during that night. The yeti had a chance to win the game but Mike Boss was able to throw a long in 2 different drives which led his team to score 10 points because of it. The pass rusher didn't do their job correctly and Mike Boss had a lot time to throw the ball.
The highest point of the season for Fuego Wozy was against the Philadelphia Liberty in week 13. The yeti should have won this game if Bojo Kicksit didn't miss 2 extra points. The game ended 33-32 for the Liberty. One reason why the game was very at Philadelphia it was because Wozy performance. In that game, he recorded 8 tackles, 1 tackle for loss and 5 sacks which put him 4th in the top defensive performance this season. Before week 12, Fuego Wozy had 8 sacks and after the game against the Liberty and after that, he got 16 sacks total.
The high point of this season for Clifford Rove was helping to lead the Liberty to a victory that clinched Philadelphia's first appearance in the postseason. It was not an easy season for Rove, as many Liberty fans can attest, with the quarterback often showing glimpses of greatness, followed by stretches of failure. Rove was especially proud of his second half performance, where he feels he got his game a little bit more under control. As he said after he was drafted eleventh overall in the season three draft, Rove's one goal this season was to get the Liberty their first playoff berth, and that made the clinching game his high point of the season.
Rove's low point of the season was definitely the first quarter of the Liberty's season. All of the team's and fan's hopes were placed on him, and he certainly didn't deliver. Following those first couple games, many thought this season would be a huge disappointment for the Liberty. Many placed the blame on Rove, rightfully so, for the quarterback had not played nearly as well as Philly had hoped. While this season has certainly had some highs and lows for Rove, he is hoping to not only play a good game in Baltimore tomorrow, but also help the Liberty to the Ultimus. 217 Words ![]() [div style="width: 400px;"][select style="background-color:#285581; color:#f0d5a3; font-family: Arial; font-size: 13px;"] |
