I'm not so sure "underrated" works best to describe this player but I don't see too much chatter about him and I feel like he has made a real impact for his team. I am talking about Glenn Mcpoyal, tight end of the Portland Pythons. Now Glenn Mcpoyal is no Carlito Crush and Portland does not rely on Glenn has heavily as they did for Carlito. However Glenn has been crushing it whenever he gets a chance too. So let's look at some stats, first up is total receiving yards. Now Glenn doesn't come close to the most receiving yards as the top spot is filled with wide receivers D. Aaron being number one with 820 yards. However Glenn has the second most yards out of all tight ends coming in at a respectable 320 yards averaging 32 yards a game. Now this number may not jump out at you but this next statistic is what makes me feel he is underrated or at least under valued. Glenn Mcpoyal has an average yards per reception of eight. Coupled with his two touchdowns this shows that Glenn Mcpoyal is a solid foundation for the Portland Pythons offense. I believe that Glenn will only continue to improve and show off what he is worth.

Who do I think is underrated? The entire Baltimore Hawks Defense. Maybe it's because this defense is comprised of "nobodies". Look, I get it. They are in the bottom half of every stat you would typically use to grade a defense (i.e tackles for loss, sacks, forced fumbles, pass deflections, and interceptions) however, they are currently sitting in 3rd place for points allowed and that's probably the biggest defensive stat of them all. When you are keeping points off the scoreboard for the opposing team, you put yourself in a great position to win. While many had this team eliminated before the season even started, at the halfway point, they are right in the hunt for that playoff berth, and the defense deserves all the credit. So far this season, the Hawks are 4-0 when they hold their opponents to 27 points or fewer. The defense faces their toughest obstacle this season as they host Philadelphia in week 10 in what may be the deciding game on how their roller coaster season ends. Luckily for Baltimore, they have an electric, high-powered offense that can break for a big play at any time and light the scoreboard up themselves.

As a defensive back, I pay a reasonable amount of attention to other defensive backs across both the NSFL and DSFL. It's a thankless position in some ways, because the effectiveness of a defensive back isn't always obvious on stat sheets and box scores. Today I'm going to highlight a player I think probably doesn't get the credit he deserves, though. Perhaps understandably, given that he plays in a secondary containing two of the better cornerbacks in the DSFL... the man I'm talking about is Bobby Ruckus.

Now I know this isn't my lane, but I think there is a lot more to Ruckus than meets the eye, if you go by the stat sheets. As a strong safety, his work is mostly done in run support, but his tackle count isn't in the same ball park as guys like Masvidal, Maslin and Rucker. Despite his role, he's still contributing on pass defense with two interceptions on the season -- for comparison, that's actually more than his Pythons teammate Egan Winter, who has been a force in pass defense this season -- and while his teammates at cornerback arguably putting up more impressive numbers, my sources within the Pythons organisation tell me that Ruckus is the one putting in work in practice. Keep an eye on this guy, he's bound to make waves when he steps up to the big leagues.

When you think about the Pythons offense, who are the first players you think about? Probably quarterback Austin Roenick and starting wide receivers Dwayne Aaron and Blessed Storm. These guys get a lot of attention because they put up big stats and really highlight the passing game. They get the crowd going whenever they get down the field for 20 yard spurts. One player who is very underrated and is probably the best TE in the DSFL right now is Glenn McPoyal (@Alfredo_Pasta). He’s got the most receptions out of all TEs and only 9 yards short from tying the most yardage of any TE. The impressive part is that he has 2 touchdowns and always seems to come through for our offense whenever Aaron or Storm gets into trouble on their out routes. Add to that stat, he has 12 pancake blocks right now and only 1 sack allowed. McPoyal is super good about his training too and I think it’s easy for him to get overshadowed by the rest of the Pythons offense since they are all so good. I could definitely see him starting on some NSFL teams that need active TEs like San Jose or Baltimore. I would love to play alongside him again in the NSFL because he’s a great TE.

Today I'm writing about who I think is the most underrated player in the dsfl. I'm, of course, going to be bias again. But I think this time I actually have some substance to go with my bias. I think that Glenn McPoyal, the Portland Pythons starting tight end, is the most underrated player in the league. It absolutely doesn't help that he is part of a superpower offense. The weapons that Portland have is absolutely unbelievable. They have by far the best wide receiver in the league in Dwyane Aaron. Portland also has the best running back trio headlined by non other than Boro Gore. Also having blessed storm and his ability on special teams has been great for the Pythons. With all of that it is hard to get Glenn McPoyal the ball this year. He plays much more of a realief option for the Portland Pythons. I think if he goes to a team in the NSFL that uses him he will be a huge playmaker. Also since Glenn McPoyal is so underrated he will slide pretty far down in the NSFL draft. So to all the Nsfl gms that read this, you're incredibly lucky if you are able to grab Glenn McPoyal off the draft bored.

By far, Alexander LeClair is the most underrated player in the NSFL. It all started way back in season 1, where LeClair, in the inaugural season of the NSFL, spent his season lining up as the #2 receiver, behind the perennial all-star, Josh Garden. He finishes the season with 754 yards and 4 TDs, a solid number for a rookie. Enter season 2 and the expansion draft, where LeClair is signed by the Las Vegas Legion, and once again, he’s stuck playing second fiddle, this time to speed demon, Stormblessed. This time finishing with 743 yards receiving and TDs. With the exit of Stormblessed, LeClair finally got his chance to shine and was rewarded for his patience and hard work, finishing the season with 1168 yards receiving and 7 TDs. Season 4 saw yet another set-back though, as the Legion shifted gears to a run first team, and LeClair finished with yet another average season, 771 yards receiving and 6 TDs. Frustrated with the direction of the Legion, LeClair saw an opportunity in the Baltimore Hawks, a team that was one season removed from back-to-back Ultimus Bowl appearances. They had a shiny new quarterback, who had shown flashes of brilliance in his first season, a top receiver to draw coverage, and a former running back of the year to keep defenses honest. He couldn’t have asked for a better landing spot. So far this season, LeClair has flourished, making the Baltimore passing attack on of the most feared in the NSFL. As it stands through 8 games, éclair is currently 4 in receiving yards with 889, and 6 touchdowns, both would be his second-best season if it were to end today. Unfortunately for opposing defenses, he still has 6 more games to make them pay.

Poopyface Tomatonose is the most underrated player in all the DSFL and it's high time that the opposition takes notice. There have been some frivolous statistics thrown around of late, claiming that Poopyface has the "highest drop rate" among "qualified players". This is a hit job by Big Tight Ends in an effort to hold Tomatonose down and slow down his ever accelerating hype train. It's one thing to claim Poopyface is underrated and another to prove it, however. So let's get down to brass tax. Over the last four weeks Tomatonose has racked up 19 catches for 182 yards. Those numbers alone would rank him 5th among DSFL tight ends for the season. 5th in the league at a position that isn't particularly deep is only mildly impressive, however. When you compare it to the league's leader in receiving among tight ends, McPoyal, it looks a bit more impressive. Over those same four weeks, McPoyal has posted 18 catches for 161 yards. Even without looking at any of the league's other tight ends, we can definitely safely assume that Tomatonose has staked his claim as the league's most productive in-line receiver. With four weeks like these after playing but a handful of snaps in the first six games of the season, it makes you think what kind of numbers Tomatonose (and perhaps the Coyotes in general) would have put up with him in the lineup since the start of the season.
