When you’re 1-9, there’s a lot of players who get overlooked. The Colorado Yeti haven’t had a world beating season by any means, but there are some players who are doing good things while the team still narrowly loses games. #2 overall pick Andre Bly Jr. is one of those such players. Bly has been learning on the fly, and the results haven’t been too bad. The rookie cornerback currently has 54 tackles, 3 interceptions, and 11 pass deflections on the season. He’s returned one of those interceptions for a touchdown. Bly has also taken over kick return duties for the Yeti, and he currently leads the league in return TDs with 2. Not bad at all. When you consider how often the Yeti offense has struggled this season, its refreshing that players like Bly are starting to shore up the defense. How has Bly done it? Well, he’s got a healthy training regimen that he’s been following since Day one. Bly works his ass off in the gym and in practice, and its showing as he’s getting better and better every single week. Its very easy to see that Bly is heads and shoulders above his current draft mates (save for teammate Carlito Crush of course) and he’s only going to get better. He’ll be in the All-Star game sooner than later. (223)

So I`m honestly not even sure if this player is underrated, but I`m going to have a chat about him anyways. Let's talk about Darren Smallwood. The guy is absolutely destroying it this year as a running back. With 10 touchdowns so far, that's one touchdown per game and a solid lead over the #2 touch down leader runningback in Mackworthy with 6. I won't look at average carries, because those are broken as fuck for runningbacks currently, but looking at the points for for the San Jose Sabercats. We see the cats have recorded a total of 234 points. 60 of which are due to the efforts of runningback Smallwood. That's a grand 26% of scoring from him in the runningback position. Besides this he has also scored three touchdowns playing as a wide recevier, so that's even more scoring on his name.

Smallwood is a season 2 player with a nice TPE total and will likely have very dominate seasons in the future. I think this season is a taste of the future we can expect with this player. Keep an eye on him and hopefully he`ll be a little less underrated (if he even was to begin with) than he used to be.

Terrell Brister will end up as the defensive rookie of the year in the NSFL. The young CB out of Vegas has made an impact on the team all season, but largely goes unappreciated as the Legion isn’t exactly the best team in the league, and are in a situation where they had no bright spots coming into the season. Brister however has given them a bright spot to add to their young DB group, as Blackford Oakes was another young stud for them. Brister currently leads the league in PDs for CBs, with 18 total. This number is one more than Benson Bayley, and 4 more than Dermot Lavelle, who is in 3rd place with 14. Brister has shown that the team is looking up, as he also has 3 interceptions on the season. Brister’s excellence is overshadowed by his team’s performance, as there can be an argument made that this is the worst team in the NSFL, after the drama saga that was the offseason for the Legion they can look to the future, and as they start to build up and get more young studs Brister will surely be a centerpiece of their defense. Brister could very well be the next DB to win the award, and the 2nd straight Legion player to (Goodson and Oakes tied for the award in S4). (225 words)
