Kevin Fitzpatrick’s fondest memory will always be his first NSFL road win, which was also his first NSFL win of any kind. He was in Yellowknife, playing against Mat Akselsen, the only QB in the league considered more an athlete than he was, only Akselsen was fresh off an Ultimus win. The game started off a defensive battle, with Arizona scoring the first points on a field goal. It took until the third quarter before Yellowknife answered back, tying it at 3. With 12 minutes left in the game, Arizona made another field goal. Then, with just over 5 minutes remaining, Yellowknife tied it up. Trying to be a hero, Crindy extended for a first down and fumbled. Yellowknife had the ball back, and was on the fringe of field goal range…and they missed. Overtime. Yellowknife got the ball and Akselsen threw an interception. Now Arizona had the ball, in easy field goal range. Mackworthy picked up a few yards to make it even closer, but they kept driving. Fitzpatrick dropped back and targeted Squanch, but found Yellowknife instead, giving away a game-winning field goal attempt. Somehow, Yellowknife stalled and punted, and this time Fitz drove down the field, throwing the game-winning touchdown.

Applehort's favorite memory in his life has to be his victory over the Orange County Otters in S8. They were on the road, traveling to the house of the defending champs. But nonetheless, it's safe to say that Applehort had a day. What could be defined as his first clutch performance, Applehort torched the Otters' D for 328 yards and 2 touchdowns. He didn't quite outperform his favorite quarterback, Mike Boss the whole game. But he was clutch when it mattered and that was the game. With the Yeti backed up to their own 15, with a 13-10 lead, the Apple knew a punt wouldn't do it. Especially with Mike Boss waiting on the other sideline, ready to make some magic happen. So he got a drive going. One throw after another, it was money. The Yeti moved down the field. Applehort -> Miller was clicking. After a chop block, they were forced into 2nd and 16. But even a long yardage situation couldn't stop Apple. He found Miller for 26 yards, and that really deflated the Otters. The rest of the drive was clockwork, as the Yeti marched their way down and eventually found the end zone on a 6 yard pass to - wait for it, Howard Miller.

One of my favorite memories that I probably won't forget for a good while happened a few seasons ago in the DSFL. It was my first season ever playing defensive end in my life and so I really didn't know what I was doing, yet I was somehow finding great success and putting fear in opposing quarterbacks. To top it off as a unit, that Marshalls defense was absolutely unreal from top to bottom. At the beginning of the season coaches gave all of us a sheet with goals they wanted for us to accomplish during the season stats wise. Looking at the sheet I thought it all seemed pretty simple and in fact I smashed every single milestone that was on that sheet.....that is all but one. One of the things the coaches had put down for me was to either block a punt, block a field goal, or record a safety. With two games left on the year I hadn't come close to getting any of those as on field goal and punting situations I now found myself with my hand on the ground, so it's not like I could leap over the line and attempt a block that way or come around the edge and as far as safeties go we never really had teams backed up that far in order to get that. This all changed though in the second to last game as we took on the Portland Pythons everything just came together all at once. We ended up pitching a shutout 27-0 and I was making McCoy and especially Joliet L. Christ my bitch, recording 6 tackles, 3 tackles for a loss, a sack (where I drug my nuts across Christ's face), a forced fumble, a fumble recovery and I even managed to squeeze this big body through the line and blocked a punt! That'll be a day that will be hard to foret

I think when you look back on your early childhood days, you remember the first person who got you to fall in love with the game. For me, it was my father. If it weren't for my father and his passion for the great game of football, it is entirely possible that I would not have been the player I am today. I remember my pops slinging the pigskin around the backyard with my brothers and me and how hard he would work us so that one day we might become pro football players. One of my worst but most memorable moments is when my father passed away. When my father finally succumbed to the cancer that plagued his body it meant that I would have to become the man of the family as my other had passed away when I was a young child. It was incredibly tough raising my two brothers while training to become a pro football player but if it weren't for the rigorous lifestyle that my father put us through then I don't know that I would have made it. I am proud of my life and even though I haven't been all that I can be, I still gave as much of myself as I thought I was capable of.

When it comes to major life moments, the past few seasons have had a couple massive ones.

Coming out is of course the absolute biggest thing that she has done in her entire life. I mean, it's a pretty major thing to do especially when you're already in the public spotlight as a two-time Ultimus winner, not to mention the only woman in the league. She had come out to friends and family in the past, but kept it a secret to the media, who only speculated on it. Tegan wanted to try to keep the focus on her play on the field, not who she is off of it. But one day she finally decided that she was tired of the constant rumors in the tabloids and finally came out with the news.

The other major life-defining choice she made recently was, of course, joining the Yellowknife Wraiths. Although the league has been short-lived, Tegan does come from a family that was very much involved with the Orange County Otters. Her cousin Leroy was a part of the first draft class for the team and was a key member in the locker room during a lot of the early turmoil. He is a major presence felt by the OCO community, so you would assume that his cousin would keep her own end. Instead, Tegan wanted to forge a new identity for herself by going to a new team.

Lavelle spent the S9 offseason doing something he's never done before, looking at the other professional sports leagues. At first he had a look at the NSFL's main rival league, the Elite Football League. A quick glance at the league tells you that like the NSFL, it's thriving. It's got a considerable fanbase and over the 6 seasons in existence? (6?) the EFL has had 3 different champions, the Seattle Predators, the New York Herd and of course the Los Angeles Reign. At first glance it seems a really pass heavy league with 4 different QB's throwing for over 4700 yards and 12 different receivers over 1k receiving yards. But saying that, on the opposite side of the balls it's an entirely different world.

There's 12 guys with + 4 ints on the season, 2 guys on 7, 2 guys on 6 , 4 guys on 5 and the rest on four. Is everybody's QB just chucking it deep? Pass deflections is actually a little less than ours on average so I'm guessing in the EFL there's a higher likelihood for big plays and having nearly half of your PD's being interceptions.

To summarise, it's alot easier being a cornerback, quarterback and wide receiver in the EFL. Lavelle will likely fled there after his retirement for the cushy CB life.

Once when I was seven years old I sat on a banana and of course that changed my life. I remember sitting and hearing the squishing sound. I knew from there that my whole life was going upside down. The banana its shape, its size, its color, its own presence in this world drastically changed in one moment. No one saw me exchange the interaction of my butt and the banana but I knew, I saw and it will haunt me forever. I still have nightmares about the incident and sometimes it keeps me awake about what I could have done different to change the unfortunate outcome. For years I wondered if I would be able to ever recover from this traumatic experience but as the years pass it seems like it will stay in mind forever. What of the poor banana? The shape changed dramatically. What should have been inside was outside. I had to take the remainder of it and throw it in the trash. My mind sometimes floats to what happened to the banana? Did it just go and get burned with the trash and create more CO2 in the atmosphere? Was it allowed to decompose and give back to the nature it was created from? I will never know and hope my mind will cease with the thoughts of the Banana. RIP Banana.

Getting drafted into the DSFL was a huge success in the life of Joliet L. Christ. Growing up and playing both baseball and football, it was always a dream of Joliet's to play professional sports. Joliet gave up on baseball although he did consider making a run on PBE glory if the football route would not have gone well. Being drafted to Portland and eventually San Jose was a testament of the work he put in during his career. He is athletic and skilled enough to play in one of the top leagues out there although he did consider going into the EFL. It is hard to get noticed when playing at a smaller FCS program such as South Dakota but he was good enough to make it. Joliet put a lot of work into his football career and continues to do so even though he has been drafted. He still wants to win the Ultimini with Portland; something that eluded him last year losing in OT to the Luchadores in the DSFL's biggest game. This season is about proving himself on route to become the next NSFL star for the Sabrecats in San Jose and prove to the world he is elite. He wants to pass, he wants to run but more importantly, he wants to win.

The most memorable event in Goodson’s life was getting drafted 1st overall in the NSFL. It was a great honor to be treated as the top player in the draft class. So much training, practice, and hard work in general went into becoming the top pick in the NSFL. College was tough, and it wasn’t as rewarding since players sacrifice so much for so little. A college education isn’t something to be ungrateful about, but what’s it worth when your brain is mush. Being drafted 1st overall meant that I was going to be well compensated. That’s why it was so important, so memorable. I will remember and relive that night for the rest of my life. I was glad to see how supportive people were, and the Goodson jerseys with #1 on them. That really hit a special place in my heart. There with me, my family was gathered around, and they were so proud. I recall seeing them all cheer me on, and how happy I made them. That’s why it was awesome and memorable. It seems like it was forever ago, after all these seasons. I can hang up my cleats and have no regrets since this special night and the rest of my career.
