(S11) - PT 1 - Training Camp High jinx

Achilles Hondo is quite the prankster, and when he does pranks it's go big or go home. So what did he have cooked up for this season? Well let's just say his good buddy Marquise Brown got an eggcellent surprise one morning when he found about two dozen broken eggs in his locker. Maybe that seems like a pretty lame prank, but those eggs came from the three chickens that Hondo had put in Brown's locker the night before not expecting them to break loose. You see Brown has always had a fear of chickens after learning that some people use them for fighting. “If it's got a sharp beak and talons, I don't want anything to do with it,” he would always say. So of course Hondo went and got these chickens the next day. At this point, nobody has actually found the chickens. Rumor has it you can sometimes hear a faint clucking sound coming from the ceiling but it could just be the wind. As for Brown, it seems the Liberty star running back is planning to suit up in the entrance tunnel until this clucktastrophe has been resolved. Hopefully this won't come between the two leaders in the Liberty backfield with the season such a short time away and the Liberty offense in need of a jump start.

There have been quite a few pranks in this seasons Arizona Outlaws training camp period. Alex Selich recalls one that he will probably remember for quite a while. It was a welcome "gift" by their franchise QB Kevin Fitzpatrick. He filled the AC of Alex's car with glitter powder which he got from his own daughter's room. Of course after an exhausting training in the heat of Arizona Alex just wanted to head home and enjoy the cool air of his car but once he turned on the AC disaster struck and the inside of his car was covered in glitter.

Cleaning this was quite the pain since the glitter made it's way into every crack. Still to this day Alex finds a little bit of glitter here and there in his car. Even after giving his car to a specialist that should have thoroughly cleaned his car. This bill was also something that Alex didn't expect since it was a few hundred bucks because all the seats needed to be taken out to properly clean everything.

Alex swore that for next seasons Training Camp his QB would feel the full extent of Alex's revenge. He doesn't know what he will do but it should be quite epic to say the least.

As a newly drafted player onto the Portland Pythons Sam has been trying to avoid any confrontation from the players during training camp. Being a normally cocky and loudmouthed player teammates quickly took notice of this and figured out pretty fast why, the team quickly grouped up to set up the ultimate prank. Expecting the worst Sam was on high alert every day when he was with his teammates expecting the worst he didn't fall for the old "you have been cut joke" or the bad haircut while sleeping, it would take much much more to prank him and the Pythons figured that out after many failed attempts. With training camp coming closer to an end they realized that they needed the coaching staff and the help from a special receiver by the name of Bradley Westfield. On the last day of training camp they brought him in and disguised him as a recently signed receiver who will compete against Sam for the final receiver roster spot. The recently retired NSFL legend never lost a step exposing the defense with ease and scoring every time he touched the ball made Sam feel hopeless. At the end of practice the GMs came out and told everyone the final roster including that Sam has been moved down to the practice squad, in near tears Sam clapped for the guys who made it and proceeded to walk away, hearing the teams laughs Sam turned around to see Bradley take his makeup off to reveal that he has been pranked. "You guys are A-holes, I knew I wasnt demoted i'm the best WR on this team yall didnt fool me one it." The team had a good laugh at Sam as he went back to his old self.

Jordan von Matt was a newcomer to the Philadelphia Liberty locker room, and didn't quite know what to expect when he arrived. The Liberty are known to be practical jokers, but I don't think Jordan fully understood what he was getting into. When he was trying to get some sleep after a long first day of training camp, the veterans drugged Jordan with a few sleeping pills. They proceeded to put him in a car and drove him 100 miles away from the city. They left him on the side of the road in the middle of nowhere, with a note taped to his chest saying “Practice is at 2:00 pm, you better hurry!” Jordan somehow managed to hitchhike his way back into Philly, helped by a passing truck driver who happened to be a Liberty fan. Jordan promised him a signed jersey if the driver was able to drive him directly to the practice field. He managed to get to practice just in time, but he was still in his pajamas. The entire team laughed at him, but Jordan knew it was all in good fun. He's already looking forward to next year when he can join the team in pranking the new rookie.

Training camp is a fun time for all players and especially for new players like Roman. This season, he joined the Pythons later so he actually was anticipating some training camp kind of high jinx since all the other rookies started a few days earlier than he did before he could specifically get picked off waivers, basically contrary to popular belief. He showed up early for the third day of training camp, but it wasn't pretty early enough because the other guys had duct taped his entire locker. Stakowski had to basically rip every piece of tape off before he could even actually put his bag and shoes into it. The whole team particularly had a really good laugh watching and recording him trying to specifically take all the duct tape off. The duct tape high jinx didn't stop there! Oh no, contrary to popular belief. After they got onto the field, Stakowski generally started walking funny and noticed he was slipping all over the grass. It for all intents and purposes was then he for the most part realized that he definitely had duct tape on his shoes, which is fairly significant. He had no idea how the basically other guys got it to stick there, but he was surprised to say the least.

Have you ever seen a grown man cry from a wedgie? Well, if you had been in the Baltimore Hawks locker room last week, you probably would have. For years now, every season a few of the more established guys on the team get together and pick a new victim for training camp. Usually, but not always, it’s a guy that had a breakout season the year before. They like to think of it as a way to keep him grounded. We aren’t talking about IcyHot on their jock or putting hair dye in their shampoo though. Nope, we’re talking about something far more diabolical… wedgies. Not those sissy little yanks either, we’re talking full-blown, underwear over their head type atomic wedgies. So for one unfortunate soul, for one very long week during training camp, they receive wedgies as frequently as possible. As seen here, that unfortunate soul this year was Verso L’Alto. Sadly, this year may be the final round for this yearly tradition. You see, as old as Kurt Hendrix is getting, the guy is still absolutely jacked, and sometimes he forgets his own strength. During an overly aggressive wedgie on day two of training camp, Kurt got a nice firm grasp of the band and pulled up with all his might. Unfortunately, there may have been some… tearing, and not of the underwear either. Poor Verso spent the next 3 days sitting the bench during training camp while he recovered. Well, not sitting. That was too painful.

On his first day arriving at the San Antonio Marshals training camp, Luke Smyles and the other rookies found themselves greeted by cheery faces from returning players and coaches alike. Little did they know that those cheery faces were not from just seeing the fresh faced rookies arrive to the team, it was for what they had in store for them. Each of the rookies found their equipment had been set for them, alongside a nice new practice jersey, that for all rookies happened to be neon pink and 2 sizes too small. The rookies would have to go through the entire day of camp with the small pink jerseys. The next day once again the rookies found themselves with prank jerseys, these ones seemingly good practice jerseys, however they had been tampered with, and tore extremely easily, meaning that once it tore, the rookie would need to go back to the dreaded pink jersey. The joke the 3rd day of camp was that for the rookies, there was simply no jersey at all. The 4th and final prank day was that the rookies were given good jerseys, but the coaches brought the box of pink jerseys to the practice sidelines, and just fooled the rookies into thinking they'd have to wear those damn pink jerseys again.
