Peter Larson isn't special. He knows that, but more than that he knows his name isn't special. There are 2531 Peter Larson's in the Danish electoral register, and he has been told that there are even more in Sweden. The only really interesting thing about his name is now he spells it, one s and with an o. Although truth be told that is more an annoyance having to constantly correct people on forms.

He works as a senior accountant in the global shipping firm Mersk, within their operations Division. He's a desk jockey, goes to work sits at his computer or in meetings, and tries to keep track of the massive operational cashflow that comes and goes. He rides his bike to work each day from one of Copenhagen's commuter communities.

One of Peter's guilty pleasures is following his namesake Peter Larson, a young hockey and football player, who is starting his duel career in the United States. It hasn't always been with the late night puck drops and kick offs. But he finds it an exciting divergence from the normal football (soccer) talk that dominates the office.

One of the next things Peter wants to try is writing about these new leagues he has started to follow. Right now they don't have a great level of penetration across Denmark, and while Peter has been enjoying brushing up on his English skills he feels there is an opening to help boost interest in his new favourite sports to the Danish audiences.

There are very few people named Mako Mendonca in this world, but one such person is a middle aged velcro salesman who lives in Lisbon Portugal. His day to day job is selling reems of velcro on the telephone which is far from glamour of his namesake the brightest young runningback in the DSFL. He has a small house which he shares with 2 dogs, 3 cats, 8 budgies and a small gecko named Ronaldo. This older Mako once had sporting aspirations of his own, he wanted to represent his native Portugal in the Winter Olympics in the downhill giant slalom. Atlas his dream never came true, while he was training for the 1972 Winter Olympics in Japan he broke both his legs after a runaway bobsleigh crossed his path. He now walks with a slight limp and is one of the few people who did not enjoy the film 'cool runnings'. He also had a failed dog biscuit company to his name but that story is for another time. When informed of his namesake in the DSFL he was please that someone with his name is setting alight a different sport across the pond, but his is also wistful, for what might have been if it wasn't for that runaway bobsleigh all those years ago.

Meet Morgan Marshall. Not Morgan Marshall of Yellowknife Wraiths running back fame, but Morgan F. Marshall from Des Moines, Iowa. Marshall is an average 100 year old chimneysweep in the employment of the local school district, who keep him around because they feel bad. You see, Marshall here has dementia and can’t quite tell what time he’s in. Every day he pulls on his suspenders and hops in his 2011 Buick to travel to the local gas station on route to the school. At this point Marshall forgets where he was going to begin with, and starts to aggressively chimney sweep houses within the vicinity. Most mornings end with Mr. Marshall in handcuffs for trespassing, but the local police are exceedingly lenient with the town’s unofficial mascot and always set his bail at a ceremonial $4.20, after which they conveniently forget to press charges or file any paperwork. Marshall is blissfully unaware of the NSFL’s existence, nor does he know of his doppelgänger counterpart. Marshall’s sports fandom is reserved for the Cincinnati Celts, who he proudly supports every Sunday when he rewatches the one season of tape they have. It’s a simple life for Mr. Marshall indeed, but it’s honest work, and he is beloved by all within his hometown.

If you have been keeping up with the news of the failed opening pitch at last week’s baseball game, well hit mainstream media. Jack Rambo’s name was spread everywhere. Not only was this bad for Jack, but it was also especially bad for Jack. Jack Rambo from California that is. This man has lived in peace for 39 and a half years until that day. His daily life has been completely different. It starts at the coffee shop. He hands the cashier his credit card who got a peak of the name. “HA wait you have the same of that guy on sportscenter” said out loud to the whole place. Everyone turns and cracks a big smile. He then makes his way to his 9-5 job at the apple store. With his nametag in view the comments keep coming. “Wait what are you doing working? I figured you would be practicing pitching to make up for that mess last week” said the 12 year old kid with braces. He begins to question why people think this joke is so funny to others, but he continues to brush it off time after time. Driving home he hears the radio hosts talking about it only feeding the flashbacks to that 12 year old kid. Its in his head now. He gets home. Ready to relax with his girlfriend of 6 months now. There is a message on the counter. It reads “I can’t do this anymore. Your name is an embarrassment. Its over”. It was from that day forward Jack from California legally became Bill Rambo.

After a bit of digging it appears there is in fact another Raymond Vans out there among the general population. Once the S12 draft selection heard this news he took it upon himself to reach out and introduce himself. Unable to find his phone number he resorted to the great world wide web and sent regular Raymond Vans a quick email with a few questions to learn about him. Turns out he's a mechanical engineer living in Seattle, Washington. Married for 10 years now to his loving wife they have a single child, a daughter named Rayla. What was especially exciting is that he's actually a big fan of the NSFL and was already aware the Arizona Outlaws linebacker existed. He'd been following his career since Vans entered the DSFL as a late free agent in S11. Beyond the namesake it turns out the engineer Raymond was a linebacker himself back in high school and briefly again in college. He suffered one to many injuries and decided to focus on his school work instead of his football career and never looked back. We very well could've had two Raymond Vans in the league! Eager to meet one another the S12 Ultimini champion extended an invite to regular Raymond Vans, his wife and daughter to come out to Arizona and enjoy a home game. He even get them all jerseys. Conveniently no custom name bars were required.

There is a man out in the world that shares the name of Norfolk great Ahri Espeeyeeseetee, but he is about as far from the Pennsylvania legend as anyone could be. Forlorn and alone, this alternate AE (AE2 we shall call him) spends his days bagging groceries at the local Stop-And-Shop. His wife left him for a better looking man that makes more money and can satisfy her sexually; his kids barely talk to him any more and won't return his calls; he's months late on bills and rent and his landlord is threatening to evict him; and to top it all off his insurance was recently cancelled due to a fraudulent claim on his account, and he doesn't have any other means to get to work other than his '71 Pinto. His hairline is receding, last week he lost another tooth. He lost most of his retirement in the 2008 recession, since he had invested most of it in mortgage bonds, and what little money he had left he used to buy bitcoin when everyone was selling late January of 2018 (it has to come back up, right?). Despite all this, AE2 goes about his life greeting everyone with a smile and a high-five, for he knows his stage 4 lung cancer is going to kill him and all his worries will be over soon.

Verso L'Alto now having been on a consistently good team for as long as he has regularly receives fan mail. Despite never having released any of his personal information or address, this stuff still gets out there and so it is unavoidable that he receive 5-10 letters from fans each week. Well, two weeks ago he happened to receive a rather unique letter from a young and more than a little overenthusiastic fan. He was in his mid-twenties and from Baltimore, a groundskeeper at an upscale golf course on the city limits. From what L'Alto can tell from the content of the letter, this fan may actually be slightly unstable and is completely obsessed with Verso L'Alto. He attends games whenever he can, has every version of L'Alto's football jerseys that have been sold, and collects items related to Verso L'Alto that he finds online (trading cards, signed memorabilia, etc). But that isn't all. In this letter in which the fan explained the lengths he has gone to show his devotion to Verso L'Alto, he also shared that he has a photo of L'Alto tattooed on his right calf and has just legally changed his name to....you guessed it.....Verso L'Alto.
