Thomas Passmann has called out Twitter in local media reports for not verifying his Twitter account, which is always at the heart of one off the field controversy or another. He wants that "stupid blue checkmark" by his name to satisfy his "narcissistic" side and show that he is "almost as important as a bunch of people in bands." He is a semi-famous, almost good football player who is probably lashing out because of frustration from being overlooked in the media every year, and one way to get more coverage of his Tweets might be for his account to be verified. The social media giant has not responded to requests for comments on verifying Passmann's account, but one insider told us they are aware of the situation and do not plan on giving it to him due to him not being human. There is nothing in Twitter's terms of services that says that vampires can not get the same treatment as humans, so this is a shocker and possibly the potential root of a lawsuit.
Passmann is known to have great attorneys and legal counsel, so he could at the least make a case and force Twitter to settle out of court. The question is whether he will go to such lengths and be so petty, trying to scrap out a legal battle in court over months, or just keep waging a war of words on social media and in the media. It just seems like the Arizona Outlaws veteran wide receiver can not stay out of controversial situations, and he just can not keep his mouth shut to let trouble die down. The press coverage here at least is not as horrible as it was from some of his last stunts, but it is unnecessary at a time when his ISFL team needs to focus on winning games and getting into the playoffs. You have to feel sorry for the Arizona coaches, keeping up with his unpredictably and the trouble that seems to follow him like he's a trouble magnet is a task that sort of extends beyond human capabilities. They must be fuming at the Outlaws management for extending him and forcing them to deal with him for a few more years, what were the brass thinking? This guy's not a football player, he's a walking drama storm.
I suppose you can see why the management kept him around if you look at the stats. He performs well on the field and meshes well with his team out on the turf. The strong receiving core is a good reason why Arizona has rocketed off to a 4-2 start to the season, putting them in good positioning to carve out a playoff spot down the road. Passmann only has a single touchdown, but he performs his role well even if numbers-wise he is underperforming and falling behind budding star Taro Raimon. At any rate, Passmann is sure to kick it into high gear as he always does near the end of the year and in the postseason. He is a clutch performer, a guy who can show up under pressure and get the big runs. Very consistent, very fast, very dangerous. Seeing such a gifted player has to make other teams jealous and wish they had taken the chance on him in the S22 draft. If he could just keep his head down and lay low for awhile, he would be an absolute gem for his team. Whether Thomas Passmann has been a blessing or a curse for Arizona, well that depends who you ask and when you ask them. But if you ask the management and the GM, it is clear what they think; they think he is worth keeping around for the duration of his career. For better or for worse, he is a special player who can contribute a lot on the scoresheet.
Wide receiver is quite a saturated position in the ISFL, but not everyone can perform in that role to the highest degree. Nobody has the blazing speed and unnatural strength of a vampire, how could a human ever match that? Twitter may not think highly of vampires, but the football gods clearly do. A guy like Passmann is practically made for this sport, he belongs in this league and on his team as much as anyone. He hasn't even drained any of his teammates dry of their blood in the past few seasons, he is fairly safe these days as far as vampires go. Maybe other teams should look into signing athletic vampires as well so that they can match up more evenly with the Outlaws, if you can't beat them, join them. Getting Passmann kicked out of the league or getting the feds to lock him up has not worked out, so they need to go back to the drawing board and conjure up some new strategies. It is too late to snatch up this vampire, but as any vampire hunter would tell you, there are plenty out there if you know where to look.
In other news, the Colorado Yeti's Wide Receiver William Lim is taking the league by storm with his receiving skills. What hand-eye coordination this man has, he is absolutely killing it. Fantasy owners who snatched him up must be feeling quite fortunate to have him on their team, he could carry them to a first place finish. 759 yards, looking very strong and helping move his team up the field on each play. An absolute first down machine, everyone should be taking notes on his style and how he plays the game. The San Jose Sabrecats Tychondrious Hood is a close second in yardage for this season, and is crushing it with 6 touchdowns. If you're close to the end zone and you're looking to score, watch this man get open and toss it to him. He can make the catch and get those points, what an important player for San Jose and a talented star. Also earning some points and paying off for his fantasy owners, perhaps even more than Lim with 6 touchdowns compared to his 2, well deserved success for Hood. It is good to see good results come to honest and hard-working players.
