When the NFL came calling it was a dream come true for Clifford Rove… almost. While he was obviously much more anxious to hear about the upcoming NSFL draft, Rove felt that a tryout with the NFL couldn’t hurt. The Browns called him in, and were hoping that the might consider becoming their franchise guy. While he certainly was flattered, Rove made sure to let them know from the get go that if any NSFL team called his name during the S3 draft, he would be playing in the NSFL. It had been his dream since day one. The Browns were clearly in need of a quarterback, and were hoping Rove could end the drought for the franchise. They loved what they saw, and made an extremely compelling package for Rove, including a humongous contract offer, if he would come and play in Cleveland. However, true to his word, as soon as his name was called and he phoned and said his thank-you’s, Rove picked up the phone and dialed the number for the head office in Cleveland. He said that he had to politely decline the offer, as he had just become a member of the Philadelphia Liberty, hopefully for life.

Hello again NSFL, I'm really starting to get tired having to take time out of my day to type up memo's for my client #31 Erlich Burnsman. If you see him around please remind him he owes me for the last one!

I have been asked to write about Burnsman's tryout with the NFL. Why anyone would want to hear this story is beyond me but ask and you shall receive... for a price..

It was a hot summers day in Dallas TX. Burnsman had just gotten out of court when he got word of open tryouts the cowboys were hosting. Now, usually my client would attend an open tryout as an observer, he enjoys dropping some acid and tripping balls in the parking lot. Burnsman was known for his partying ways but this time it didn't quite go as planned. Now, you may be asking yourself "Wait, Mr. Mimes, DID Erlich trip balls still?"

Yes, of course he did. But while following the sound of colors over in the distance, my client #31 Erlich Burnsman accidentally stumbled onto the practice field. The coaches recognized Burnsman from his playing time as a Longhorn and like all other teams, avoided him in the draft because his off field... gecko issues. Now I was not present for this, I am telling you the story the way Burnsman told it to me, so you're almost getting it straight from the horse's mouth.

After being approached by coach Johnson, Burnsman got geared up he got in position. I was told it took what must have been 40 minutes, Burnsman couldn't stop staring at his hands. Anyway, from that point on Burnsman was in the zone. He was making cuts, turning on a dime.. I am not sure I have ever seen that kid move as fast as I heard he did that day. There was even a play where he ran through ALL 11 DEFENDERS on route to the end zone. He scored effortlessly. Rumour has it, he even made some kids cry...

well... he definitely did, as it turns out, my client #31 Erlich Burnsman did not attend an open tryout that day.. he attended the Cowboys annual Make-a-Wish, childrens flag football for a cure game, which pits make-a-wish children against one another in a head to head flag football game.

My client shattered both records and dreams that day, and it is surely one he will think fondly of.

Watching the Ravens as he grew up, Evans had a fascination with the strong defense, smash mouth running back style of football. Nonetheless, he ended up playing wide receiver, even eventually attending the same college as Ray Lewis at the University of Miami.

What if, Evans thought, he could finally be the piece of the puzzle that rounds out this Ravens team. He would be the first true number one wife receiver the Ravens have had to throw to. How would teams handle this, he pondered?

Between Anquan Boldin, Torrey Smith, Derrick Mason, and a slew of other talented wide outs, there have been solid pieces in the Ravens wide receiving corps many times, but they've never emulated their division rivals like the Bengals with AJ Green, or the Pittsburgh Steelers with Antonio Brown. Dustin Evans knew he wanted to be that guy for the Ravens and that he'd surely be the catalyst that springs Baltimore into the Superbowl.

*Smack* Evans head reels sideways as it impacts with a football.
"Pay attention, Evans! Either that or go play for the NSFL!"

And so he did; Evans gave up on his childhood dreams to play for the Baltimore Ravens and he now plays a decent game with the Arizona Outlaws.

Just like many kids dreamed when they grew up, Antonio Sandoval too dreamed of being an NFL star. However, the league that caught his eye was the NSFL. However, with all the attention he has been receiving lately after going first overall in the NSFL S3 Draft, he was asked to tryout for the Seattle Seahawks. As you can see, the Seahawks offensive line is terrible. Unfortunately, in the 2018-2019 NFL Season, Russell Wilson died of injuries suffered due to taking a record 320 sacks in a season. At the tryout, Antonio was the top dog. No one else could come near his strength, and he was pancaking everyone like it didn't matter. He was clearly the best player there. However, from the moment he got the invitation, Sandoval knew he would not be joining the Seahawks. Not only because he couldn't due to contract restrictions, but also because his heart was with the Yeti and the NSFL. When the Seahawks offered him a contract, double what the Yeti are paying him, he turned it down. Sandoval strives to be a Yeti for life. He is part of something that the Yeti are trying to build. Also, the Seahawks suck.

When it comes to being a football player, most of us are similar in one way, hometown pride. Being born and raised in Seattle, WA Browning was always surrounded by great football. University of Washington, which he would attend and win a Pac12 Championship with, and the Seattle Seahawks. SB 48 Champs, 2015 NFC Champions, and overall a constant contender in the NFL. Before the NFL combine when Pete Carroll and John Schneider reached out to Budda he was beyond excited. His hometown team and SUPER BOWL CHAMPIONS, wanted him to workout for them. Can it get much better then this? As Budda already was still residing in Seattle at the time, why have your pro day at Husky Stadium? Might as well work out at the VMAC! (Seahawks training facility) Budda was able to do just that, something many aspiring NFL players would dream of. In the process, he was able to meet many of the talented Seahawks players, the training staff, coaching staff and many more. Although, things did not work out I know Schneider and Carroll will always be rooting on Baker in his corner as he pursues a career in the NSFL. He will also never forget the chance his hometown team gave him, and as a result he will push himself to the next level, keep grinding and never stop working.

Turk Turkleton had the honor to receive a tryout offer with his favorite NFL team since childhood. And he didn't even have to travel far to get to the tryout. Visiting the Baltimore Ravens in the M&T Bank Stadium. He was welcomed by staff and his hero Justin Tucker. The tryout started with some field kick exercises. Turkleton was able to keep up with Tucker for the first bit. 20, 30, 40 yard kicks are no problem for the young kicker from Baltimore, but once the 50 yard kicks came about, he was able to tell Tucker was beating him in those. They even tried some 60+ yard kicks and man that's where Tucker showed how great he is. Hitting 2 of the 5 kicks they did. A 61 and 60 yarder. Turktleton had to make due with a ball that barely missed the post of the upright.

They also went for a few extra point kicks, wich were no problem for Turkleton. After the kicks Turkleton had a nice meal with staff and the other players and ended the day with a quick 30 minute game. Turkleton was able to kick in two field goals and an extra pointer.

After the game it was time to go back home.

Before the end of his senior year at University of Oregon, Eli Kamaka was invited to a tryout with the Seattle Seahawks. Although he was still relatively unknown across the nation, he put up some decent stats in college and this caught the eye of the Seahawks scouting team since he was a local regional player. Kamaka was an above average athlete and was able to impress the coaches at the tryout with his overall speed and tackling ability. He still lacked the football IQ to understand the more complex offensive schemes and struggled with reads. This was apparent during the tryout when Kamaka made a few mistakes in allowing the pass rushers through. The coverage drills were rough for Kamaka as well, but he showed tenacity in defensive pressure and never gave up on plays. In the end, the Seahawks felt that they didn’t want to take a chance on Kamaka.

Ultimately, this failure created much doubt in his mind that he would succeed at the next level of football which led to his initial decision not to declare for the NSFL draft. After much convincing by friends and family, he ended up entering the last minute and the rest is Liberty history!

Mayran Jackson had a great phone call this past summer after news of his trade from Arizona broke out to the Colorado media. The newly acquired wide receiver got a call from the Los Angeles Chargers front office as they were looking for another receiver to fill a roster spot in training camp. Jackson had previously been cut from both the Carolina Panthers and the Kansas City Chiefs in previous years training camps. Jackson's call went well with the Chargers brass and he was offered the chance to catch on with the big city Chargers. Training camp went well for Jackson but ultimately they had too many bodies in camp as they had traded for Sammy Watkins during the final weeks of the pre-season. The one thing Jackson did get though is a call from the owner stating he would like to approach him later if he doesn't catch on with another NFL camp. Ultimately Jackson stuck with the NSFL as his job was guaranteed no matter where he was. Being that he had the opportunity to come back to the NSFL and keep showing why Stormblessed is a fourth tier receiver, he couldn't turn that down. If you recall, Jackson has been making Stormblessed appear inept has his job in the NSFL.
