Born into a farming family in rural Michigan, James was destined to follow his fathers foot steps. From a young age he was asked to help out around the house and the farm, as most kids around his town did. Hauling bales of hay, planting different crops and even wrestling pigs every now and then, he was learning the tools of the trade. His interest in the simple farming life started to diminish when we went to high school. Several of his friends said that they were going to try out for the high school football team, and since James didn't want to be an outcast to his own friends, he decided to try out as well. He was very timid during the first practice but also very athletic, he had the build and size that the coaches were looking for. He was also not very aggressive by nature, so he was not very keen to playing defense. During one of the first practices, one of the star players was making fun of his father, saying how he is the town drunk, and he is lazy and good for nothing. James had never felt this aggression or anger before, it was almost as if he were seeing through the devils eye, everything was blood red. James charged at the kid and tackled him to the ground, beating him senseless and never letting up. Finally the coaches managed to pry James off of the other player. The coaches had never seen anything like that, such rage and anger, they knew at that moment he was going to be a great linebacker. James was suspended from school but still able to practice with the team. Everyday during practice the coaches would try to recreate the anger and aggression they saw out of him on that day, every so often they would see a glimpse of the animal inside, but nothing resembling what it was like that day. The weeks quickly went by and it was finally time for his first high school football game. The coaches saw a lot of progress in his game that they decided to start him at linebacker. James was very nervous, but excited, his father told him he was coming to watch him play his first game ever.
Finally the moment he had been waiting for, kick off. His team got the ball first and drove it down the field for a very easy touchdown, 7-0. Then it was their turn to play defense. James was so caught up in the emotions and excitement that he ran out onto the field without his helmet on! The first time ever being out on a football field and he had already felt like he embarrassed himself. He looked up to find his parents, to get some reassurance that he was doing well. He was scanning the crowd for what seemed like 5 minutes, when suddenly he saw him, his father, fighting with the security guard. He was already wasted before the game even started. James was stunned, he could not believe that his father would do something like this. His heart pumped with fire, his eyes filled with rage, not knowing how to react to what was happening he went onto the field and joined the huddle. His teammates tried to communicate with him and tell him the play, but James did not respond, he just had a 1000 yard stare in his eyes. When the offense got into position he quickly snapped out of it. James knew, that in this moment, he didn't have to control his anger and rage, he had to let it out. The offense snapped the ball and instantaneously James was in the backfield, he hit the running back so hard that his mouthpiece fell out, “FUMBLE” his entire team cried out. One of his teammates picked up the ball and ran in it for 6. He slowly jogged back to the sidelines where everyone cheered him on, his coach slapped him on the back of the helmet as he walked by “Thats a beast right there boys”.
