The only things I remember about Archon were that he had an irrational hatred for Audrey Hepburn and that one time he decided to write the most vehemently offensive piece of crap ever posted on the site.
Which, BTW: that fell under homophobia. While not targeted specifically at anyone, it's a pretty major dick move to write stuff like that.

Oh yeah, that time Archon was homophobic and not only didn't get in trouble, but GOT PAID. So yeah, I guess we shoulda had this earlier.

Takeaways from this thread:
1. Some people thought Archon was a dick who deserved to be punished. Some people thought he was funny. Some people complained in non-specific ways about actions that were questionable but were seemingly not obviously over the line. Archon was probably given the benefit of the doubt, as most people should be.
2. All of this ^^ is mostly irrelevant because it's mostly a different HO now.
3. As with most things in this league, it seems from my relatively short time here, the HO has done something good and/or necessary and been called out for not doing it sooner. This makes me upset, personally. When you accomplish something good in your life, how does it feel to have someone say, "You should have done it sooner/harder/louder/better!"? I can guess that many of us have experienced this in our lives, and it feels shitty. Does this mean we can't criticize HO for not having acted sooner? Of course not! Just acknowledge that what they're doing now has some value as well, and don't just leave it at, "It's about fucking time, assholes."
4. Some of the people who are most vocal in here about how wrong and bad Archon was and how wrong and bad HO currently is are the very same people for whom this new policy is going into effect. I imagine that this lashing out could be in response to being called out (subtly and non-personally, but I imagine they can tell), though I won't pretend to know what goes on in people's heads. This doesn't necessarily make their points invalid, but it may be worth it for these people to examine what, exactly, they're doing re: this discussion.
5. The Don't Be A Dick Rule is a good one. If you wouldn't say it to someone's face, please don't say it in these forums or the accompanying Discord. Keep attacks impersonal and/or game related. Or don't make them at all. That's not a bad idea either.
6. The hate for Hawk in here from some people is palpable, and this fucking sucks. I know him in real life. Is that why I'm sticking up for HO in here? Maybe, I can't pretend to be sure. But he's never, as long as I've known him, on these forums or otherwise, gone out of his way to attack people and be malicious towards anyone. He hasn't called people names. He hasn't slandered anyone. He's stayed as professional as could be expected on a fucking fake football simulator. Remember, there are people behind these screen names. I repeat, if you wouldn't say it to someone's face, please don't type it in here, especially when all anyone is doing is trying to make this as fun as it can be.
7. I think it bears repeating. HO has done something good and necessary, and instead of being happy about the changes, the most vocal response is, "Well, should've done it sooner." This does not add fun to the league. It does not add fun for the head office members. It does not add fun for us players. Please, let's all have some fun.
