You're right we don't have a lot of active players. That said, Shady and I feel we're only one key piece from having an effective offense for this up coming season. Through the draft and DSFL contraction, as well as the last remaining active S15 players will finally be called up to the NSFL level, we believe the league will be more equalized and we can acquire the key players needed to compete against Tijuana, and potentially beat them in the playoffs. Make no mistake, that Wall is scary.

As far as keeping talent in San Antonio, in my opinion, maybe Shady disagrees, that is the opposite of our role as DSFL GMs. Our goal is to help every new player we get to climb fast enough to start in the NSFL as soon as possible. If a player stays with us at San Antonio more than two seasons, something went wrong.

For myself, @timeconsumer is definitly the main influencer I've had. He is an ocean of knowledge with regards to game play tactics. The same can be said for @shadyshoelace, but I don't know if there's anyone else that has influenced him.

I am optimistic that the two of us will work well together and maybe in a few seasons we can make the jump to GM a NSFL team, like how @nunccoepi and @iseedoug were GMs of Tijuana and then moved up to Baltimore together. It's a whole new part of the game for us, but we'll learn quick from our success and mistakes I'm sure.

Thanks for the shout out fam! I think the DSFL to NSFL GM pipeline should be more of a thing. It makes sense to learn what is required without dealing with contracts and all that, but also I think it makes sense for GM characters story. Its like college coaches or assistants going to nfl.

Don't think I ever asked a question while doing a presser. But if you're willing to expand your remarks, what made it possible for you and nunccoepi to jump together from DSFL to NSFL?

The presser with in the presser.

1. I think nunc and I became solid friends during our time in TIJ. Dominating the league was fun. I think because of this we both really wanted our GM characters to have a story, which involved this plain to win like crazy in the DSFL, become DSFL legends, then move up to the big leagues and repeat. I think GM characters not as much of a thing back then. A lot of people just had there username as the GM, but we wanted to push the character paradigm more (similar to the player characters).

2. In TIJ we both did a bunch of stuff in terms of duties, but eventually there became a systematic split in duties. Nunc focuses mostly on running the team. I focus mostly on doing the game-time strats. Of course we discuss almost everything, but this splitting of duties has helped us manage the hobby and our real lives.

3. After putting together our DSFL resume, we just waited for the right opportunity to take a team.

4. It also was a big help for me that nunc had 1 season GMing under his belt, which made it easy for me to catch on when we became a pair.

@nunccoepi care to weigh in?

Yep, I'd agree with all of this. And learning the sim was very important. We've both spent a ton of time just learning everything we could about how attributes and game plans and whatever else all affect game outcomes and performance. We both enjoy thinking analytically like that, I think, and we were both attracted initially more to GMing a team than even having a player. So all of that was helpful.

But honestly, probably more than anything, mentorship from guys who already had the sim and were very experienced with it meant a lot too. I asked @timeconsumer a ton of questions along with others like Ahriman, @Bzerkap, and @PDXBaller. I also learned a lot about how to run a team from a personnel perspective from my GMs in Baltimore and just being in a war room. So my biggest advice would be to not be afraid to come to those more experienced (@speculadora and @Sweetwater are other great examples) and just ask a lot of questions, because if you are expecting 15 people to trust your leadership of the team then you'll need to prove that you know your stuff. But what I've found is that people are really really great about sharing what they know and helping you to succeed. I think its safe to say that for me and iseedoug and everyone I mentioned, we all care a lot more about the league succeeding overall and there being a high level of competition than a couple of W's here and there.

So hopefully that helps! @Duilio05

Wow, thanks so much @iseedoug and @nunccoepi. Y'all are the best!
