A modest O-line proposal - Quigonginger - 08-12-2019 (08-12-2019, 11:23 AM)TomHanks Wrote:Hold up, I never said we (the Luchadores) would ever preserve waiver priority over taking an active O lineman. I said that other GMs may preserve priority rather than pick up a semi active lineman. Human linemen will always have a home in TijuanaBut it's moot because you're already full and it's unlikely they're going anywhere. But thanks for clarity. But thanks for clarity. Well Beaver got called up, Ben's been talking about switching to DL, Payton has 1 year left, the others are IA. So we're absolutely looking for more linemen going forward. Is this modest enough? We have a large rush of potential, we can make the most of it. A modest O-line proposal - timeconsumer - 08-12-2019 I have run some actual numbers. Changing both of the OTs on a team from the 310lb bots to the 340lb human players assuming equal TPE and builds results in 9% more wins. I don't think I can overstate how significant this weight advantage is. The rub is more than fair. Well we should all be congratulating the championship-bound Austin Copperheads for having the ONLY active lineman in the NSFL and obviously that's sealed it for them. That 4.5% increased win rate means they have it on lock. You know the rub isn't fair. Don't act like it's that simple. If you want people to take you seriously maybe you should try actually engaging with people when they have data and not just ignoring it because it doesn't fit your narrative. You have nothing to say on my proposal other than you have stats and will only share one so far to back your point. And you said BOTH OT's which is twice the number of dude playing in the NSFL right now. So I could only divide in half and assume you'd get 4.5% more wins. What's the win rate for one team having a slightly better QB? A slightly better WR? That's what we're up against and not getting someone okay at one of those is far worse than not getting a good lineman. Back to my proposal, it helps Dline, it helps Oline, it adds more variety to teams. It gives us just one spot out of five to get filled. What do you say about that? What I have to say is that you are extrapolating based on almost no information. You are making a lot of assumptions based upon zero knowledge of the sim at all and no empirical data to back up anything. You can see it in your questions themselves. You have no clue what the impact of a good or bad WR or QB or anything else is in this sim. You don't know how DL matches up against OL to produce stats. You don't know which OL positions are even affected the most by TPE. And there's nothing wrong with not knowing. We all started out not knowing in this game. But there are a lot of people who do know a lot and if you'd take a moment to talk to them and learn how you can gather more information to get a greater understanding of what OL's true impact on this league is then we could actually get into a meaningful discussion. But you are choosing to ignore those resources to just spout the same old narrative that your rub isn't fair. |
