how much of these numbers are affected by the fact that the nfl has 6 teams per side (and thus, more chance to upset every step of the way) vs the isfl having 3 per side
what would the nfl look like without a wildcard round?

add in the fact that we now have an unbalanced schedule, (i.e. some teams got to play both expansion teams, while other had to play both COL and OCO) and you've got a very solid argument. HFA should not play this much into account when teams aren't all playing each other.
