(S2) - PT #2 - Locker Personalization - Silver Fox - 07-30-2017 In the bottom part of the locker, I’ve got all my equipment. On the door, I’ve got a couple of menus for different cheesesteak places – an obvious Philly tradition, whenever we win we plan to pick a random place and most of the team will show up. Right now I can still walk around in public without people recognizing me. I don’t know how much longer that will continue, but I’m hoping our fans come to enjoy our win tradition as much as we will since we're gonna sign autographs and maybe take a few pictures when that time comes. Also on the door, a list of names – Garden, Stormblessed, Hendrix, Cook – just a few of those on the list. Just to remind myself to stay humble – I’m not the top dog yet. By the end of the season, I’m hoping to cross a couple of those names off. Also have a picture of the folks there, because who doesn’t? Off to the top left, there’s a photo of four guys holding up an ultimate frisbee trophy, myself included, from high school. Next to it is a signed frisbee – just something to remember who I was before football became life itself. I still keep in touch with those guys – the good old days, before media and press conferences. On the top right, empty tic tac boxes line the wall – I eat them constantly, always the white fresh mint ones, and they’ve gotta be the smaller ones before they slightly increased the size in 2008. I buy em’ on Ebay – technically they expire after a year, but I haven’t noticed a difference yet. Saving the boxes is another holdover, where I did the same thing in high school. I plan to throw them out after each season. Way in back up top, there’s the small stuffed fox my parents gave me as a little kid – I don’t believe in luck, but it doesn’t hurt to keep him around just in case. He’s in a locked, smash proof case welded to the locker – I love my teammates, but no one fucks with little fox. He stays in there even during away games, though I bring a replaceable duplicate in case the other team gets any ideas, and I think the only time I’ll ever take him out is the offseason or to give him to my kid if I ever have one. Marketing had me sign off on a similar one with a tiny #11 jersey on it, “on the off chance you don’t suck,” according to Paul DiMirio, but I bet they’ll fly off the shelves once I put up a couple good games. Plenty of room left in my locker though - hopefully I'll pick up some other mementos throughout my career. (S2) - PT #2 - Locker Personalization - HalfEatenOnionBagel - 07-30-2017 I've heard it said that a look inside another man's locker is a glimpse into his soul. The things in that locker are the last things he has with him before he takes the field and the first things he has when he returns whether in victory or defeat. They can tell you about what he desires in life, and also what he fears the most. What he loves, what he hates, what he thinks of other people, and what other people think of him. So what can my locker tell you about me? The most important people in my life, I have a picture of each of them. One of my parents, one of my wife and most importantly one of my Grandma, who is my personal hero. She worked so hard to take care of her family on her own. Of course my wife comes for every game, but for my parents and especially for Grandma it's tough. But with these photos they are always with me. These serve to remind me who I play for and who helped me to get to where I am today. I have a few jerseys hanging up in my locker. One from when I was in college, doesn't really fit anymore, one from high school, hasn't fit since one month after high school, and an old jersey of my dad's from when he played in the CFL. Sure I don't wear any of these but they remind me of all the games I've played, from just playing catch with my old man to these first few preseason games in the NSFL. These memories help prepare me mentally for each and every game. I've got my "comfort food" collection. My wife gets mad at me for eating too much junk food, well she can't do anything about it in the locker room. Marshawn Lynch has his Skittles, I've got my peanut M&M's. Nothing tastes quite as good after a win or serves as a better pick me up after a loss. I've had a bag after every game since Senior year of high school. The final thing I've got is usually tucked back deep in my locker. It's a Bible, the same one I've had since I was 7. Don't use this specific one much anymore, the pages are faded and the spine is falling apart. But I have a passage bookmarked that I have always read before every game I have ever played. It's Hebrews 12:11-12, "“No discipline seems pleasant at the time, but painful. Later on, however, it produces a harvest of righteousness and peace for those who have been trained by it.” It's a reminder to me in life and on the field that all good things take hard work and sacrifice. When I'm in a game and I feel weak and exhausted, I can lean on those words and know that giving up is never an option. Without these things I could still go out and play, but it wouldn't be me on the field, just an empty shell. These things make up a part of me, and when I come to my locker before a game I gather up this motivation, these thoughts, these memories and I bring them with me to the field. And when the game is over I safely return them back to their resting place until I call upon them again for my next battle. (S2) - PT #2 - Locker Personalization - TimPest - 07-30-2017 My locker is the one right by the locker of the other offensive line players on the outlaws. I don’t know what football geae is but I got lots of cool stuff in mine. Most the other guys got things like Gatorade pictures of their wives and powders but not me. In my locker I like to keep the entire collection of my team champion s1 arizona outlaw bobbleheads including coach dwyer. I got a bowl that I like to keep candies in to cheer up the other players too. I do different candies like chocolates, mints, and right now little butter scotches. I also keep a picture of my idol of all athletes michelle kwan the greatest and most beautiful skater to ever bless the ice. She is beautiful and I love her. I also like to keep some emergency things in case of a disaster. I got a mini fridge I keep plugged with 12 hot pockets and 12 pepsi sodas just in case we get trapped in the locker room. I like to keep my custom suit hanging so when I finally get my big interview with the media I am ready to look good like King Bronko. So that’s what I have in my lockers it a pretty cool place in the locker room. (S2) - PT #2 - Locker Personalization - sapp2013 - 07-31-2017 I am not the cleanest person, but I always do my cleaning in spurts or when something meaniningful is about to happen, such as my first official regular season game, and then I become a 'neat nick'. So, instead of telling you what is in there, I will tell you what no longer is in there. - 3 socks, somehow none of them matching - 2 underwear that are neither mine - some number of banana peels - 2 Plain White Tees - 1 Plain White T's cd case, CD not included - 1 emergency blanket - 3 bottles of Advil 200 count, none are empty - 17 empty water bottles - 5 shoes - 9 empty Gatorade cups - 5 pieces of spam mail - 1 tooth brush - 1 canister of toothpaste - 1 bar of half eaten soap (do NOT look at me!) - 3 deodorant sticks - 2.35 lbs of miscellaneous, crunched up paper, possibly from a playbook - 1 duffle bag - 1 semi fancy belt - the 6th shoe - 7 ping pong balls - 1 notebook - 1 pair of sunglasses - 1 pair of shorts - 1 pair of jorts - 2 miscellaneous t-shirts - 2 pairs of gloves - hella muffin wrappers - 16 1/2 pencils - 14 pens - 1 calculator - 3 hangers, 1 broken - 1 empty Kleenex box - 1 empty lotion bottle - 1 movie 'space jam', CD included - 2 usb wall warts - 1 usb to micro charging cord - 1 movie 'Interstellar', CD included - 1 pair ear buds - 5 plastic bags - 2 towels Don't ask, but I was able to fit all of that in my locker. Probably the next time I will do a full clean will be this year when we host our playoff game here in Baltimore. I have a few extra curricular activities stashed away in my locker to help me when it comes game time. First of all, in my locker I have a bottle of Captain Morgan I can take a swig of right before gametime. It really helps take the edge off. Second, I just happen to have a Gameboy stashed away in my locker. When nobody is looking I can hop on there and kill thirty minutes catching some Pokémon or doing some battles. Third, I have a 3 foot tall bong and about 8 Oz of fresh chronic. Allen Davis is a man that knows how to kick back and relax after game days. Me and a couple other guys in the Outlaws locker room pass around a bowl to celebrate our victory or smoke one to take the edge off from losing. It's a win win scenario really. Also shoved back in the locker is a couple books at any given time usually there's a new one in there every couple weeks. Currently, Stephen King's Gunslinger is the book of choice for Davis. Despite the locker being a little out of the ordinary most of these things are understandable. Davis is mostly an average guy unlike some NSFL players based on the stories about their locker rooms I have heard about. He is just a chill guy who likes the simple things in life like taking a hit and flipping the next page. 259 WORDS (S2) - PT #2 - Locker Personalization - Ben - 07-31-2017 ![]() (S2) - PT #2 - Locker Personalization - SimmerDownBruhh - 07-31-2017 Hmm.. Let's see what we have in this thang. *pops open the locker and looks up and down, picks up a clear jar with blue energy flowing inside of it* Right here lies the souls of all of the linebackers that I demolished and the defensive linemen that I put on their ass. The Wraiths' mascot collected them for me during the games and left them in my locker for safekeeping. He trusts me and I trust him. *places the jar back in the locker and picks up two portable gaming systems* Nice! Nothing wrong with the Playstation™ Portable. So far, I only have Tekken: Dark Resurrection, GTA: Liberty City Stories, and God of War: Ghost of Sparta. I also have my phone that doubles as an emulator for Game Boy Advanced games. Gotta have my Pokémon Emerald or I go a little crazy. Haha *picks up a tablet and turns it on* My Microsoft Surface Pro 4 Tablet, the official tablet of the NSFL. Gotta preparefor the enemy and it all starts with game film. This is a big reason why I am the GOAT TE. It's not always about what's done on the field, but how you prepare for what's going to be on the field. I also have Angry Birds on standby on here, but that's a secret, so don't tell anybody! *picks up a Tupperware container and pops open the top to unleash one of the best scents of all mankind, taking a deep breath to take in the greatness* You really think I mess around when I say that I have chicken wings on me at all time, huh? *takes a Honey BBQ wing from the container, closes the lid and takes a bite, savoring the flavor* It really is the simple things in life that gets me going. Fun fact about these wings, I trade some wings to the mascot for the souls. We have an agreement. He KNOWS I got the wings that make you wanna slap your momma! *places the container back in the locker and cracks open a bottle of Green Apple Gatorade, taking a small sip* Hydration is key, you don't be the best tight end in the NSFL without electrolytes and chicken. You need any of these two things, or if you wanna join the Jar of Lost Souls, come find me in Yellowknife. I'll set you up with the right contact. *closes the locker and moves to the field* 400 Words on the Dot! (S2) - PT #2 - Locker Personalization - BOOM™ - 07-31-2017 The Baltimore Hawks have really nice facilities, including the superb locker room. My stall is located right near the toilet facilities, I get that. A rookie doesn't get the prime position, but jesus it stinks. I'm not sure what some of the guys eat, but I'm thinking at least one of them has had a skunk crawl up their ass and it has died in there. Anyway, because of the "odor", I always have a couple of cans of room deodorant on hand. Essential equipment in my opinion. Next to those is a set of WW2 gas masks, just in case the spray doesn't work. I like to read so there's always a novel ready to go, as well as great bluetooth headphones when I just want to chill and drown out the sounds of the room. I have pictures of my family and girlfriend attached to the locker to remind me why I'm here working my ass off in the NSFL, and a couple of letters from kids I've visited in the hospital that help inspire me to succeed. I have a cooler with Gatorade and some snacks to keep hunger at bay. I'm 320 pounds, but I don't want to be fat...right? But maybe the nicest thing I have in my locker is the 1 year deal that the Hawks gave me, after they picked me up from waivers. I had a copy laminated just to look at every day and make me realize just how lucky I am to be here in the NSFL. ![]() (S2) - PT #2 - Locker Personalization - Bwestfield - 07-31-2017 A locker for a football player is much like a construction worker’s truck or an office worker’s desk. Things strewn about. Each one unique. In this case Westfield’s locker is a bright orange colored metal in a row of others. It doesn’t stand out from any of the others with the exception of the interior. Inside you will find many of his personal effects like pictures, clothes, personalized equipment. The first thing that you will notice is that he is a devout family man. There are tons of photos lining the walls of his locker. They show Westfield, his wife, and child on family vacations and some just silly pictures of them together. In the far back of his locker you will find his college and high school jerseys. His blue and white University at Buffalo Bulls jersey and his red and black Westmoore high school jersey. Each showing the wear and tear of a game played and donning the number 5. Last but not least you will also find a photo of Robert Phelps. A good friend of his. Always in some sort of competition. Both are always fighting for the number 1 position on the team and battling for yards and touchdowns. Last year they seemed to make their mark in each category but this year they will battle it out again. |
