(S8) - Weekend PT 3 - Record Breaking Potential - majesiu - 06-09-2018 ![]() (S8) - Weekend PT 3 - Record Breaking Potential - GoonerBear - 06-09-2018 The current DSFL record for sacks in a season is 18, set by Andreas Waiters in Season 3, then a defensive end for the Portland Pythons. Through six games of action, Ben Urlacher, San Antonio Marshals linebacker, has 11. At his pace, he could rack up 25 or 26 sacks by the regular season's end. He has been a pass rushing FORCE for San Antonio and a massive part of their defense so far this season. There is a possibility the Marshals continue to review their defensive scheme and approach, so they may alter their tactics to a point where they don't send him on the rush. They may be thinking that after their first losses came in back-to-back weeks at Kansas City and home against Tijuana. With a balanced build, they may let him back off some to play the pass coverage, especially going up against the Luchadores twice more this season and their pass-happy setup behind QB Sam Penner. I predict Ben Urlacher will break the single-season sacks record with a final tally of 20. (177) (S8) - Weekend PT 3 - Record Breaking Potential - ExemplaryChad - 06-09-2018 The record for most surprising performance in a season might just go to the Colorado Yeti this year. (I know there’s technically no such record, but maybe there should be just so we can win it. After all, it’d be nice to win something after what we’ve gone through.) After going completely winless in the last two seasons, we’re now sitting a at a comfortable (and shocking) 3-3 record. We’ve beaten a couple of teams who are clearly in a rebuild phase in the Arizona Outlaws and the San Jose Sabercats. The really surprising bit, though, was a 20-17 victory over the perennial contender Orange County Otters. These guys are looking likely to challenge for the Ultimus again this year, and the Yeti came in and beat them on their own turf. I’m not saying the Yeti are going to win out or anything this year, but starting off at 3-3 is a complete and total shock to just about everyone in the league. Thus, Most Surprising Performance goes to… the Season 8 Colorado Yeti! Haruki Ishigawa Word count: 175 (S8) - Weekend PT 3 - Record Breaking Potential - keanex - 06-09-2018 There are two records and two running backs that I'm keeping an eye on as we approach the half way mark of the National Simulation Football League. The first is attempts in a season. Reggie Mackworthy is at a whopping 182 attempts in 6 games, averaging just north of 30 attempts per game. This is currently on pace for 425 attempts in a season, with the record currently set at 409 attempts in a season which is held by Second Line's running back A. Savea. The other is total rushing yards in the year. Mackworthy is currently in the lead with 704 yards, averaging a respectable 3.9 yards per carry. This is on pace for 1,643 yards on the year which would trounce the current record of 1,402 set by O. Taylor of the Hawks. While I think Mackworthy could do it, I think that we're going to see D. Smallwood of the New Orleans Second Line break it. Despite having about 40 less carries than Mackworthy, he is only 8 yards behind Mackworthy at 696 while averaging a fantastic 5 yards per carry. This puts him on pace for 1,624 yards on the season, but if the Second Line gives him the ball just 2-3 times more per game things could greatly change. (S8) - Weekend PT 3 - Record Breaking Potential - dub - 06-09-2018 Quote:Must Include 150 Words. There are plenty of performances and players so far that could be on pace for record breaking seasons. With the early part of the season over and teams taking shape, write about someone who could very well break a record when the season. Omes to an end. Balthazar Crindy has 31 catches through six games, on pace for 72.3 catches on the season. That would be not be close the Outlaws team record for receptions by a tight end, Law's S5 total of 85 is the record. And DiMirio's 135 catches in a single season (S6) is the overall league record for receptions in a season, and that seems safe. But Crindy's teammate Chess could challenge his teammate Garden's S4 team record of 93 receptions for Arizona. With 41 receptions over 6 games, Chess has the lead league and is on pace for 95.6 receptions on the season. That season the Outlaws went 12-2 and a disappointing semifinal loss to the Otters (9-5). Chess' success comes despite Mackworthy being a focus of the Outlaws' struggling offense, as Mackworthy leads the league with 704 rushing yards. That's on pace for 1642.6 yards and would smash Taylor's S6 all-time league record of 1402 rushing yards. So despite a 1-5 record and bottom of the power rankings, the Arizona offense is all about two potential recordbreakers. He has played 34 games so far in his career and he has yet to have an interception in his career. He may be the first 1st rounder LB to have yet to get an interception 3 seasons into his career. Talk about embarrassment. Roenick is known for his tackles and sacks and such stuff like that but interception is a huge build. It is so bad that even Arbin Asipi has an interception in his career and he is his own teammate. Roenick should be ashamed of himself. The only interceptions he has had in his career were throwing interceptions while he was a QB. Yeah I do not want to talk about that because that is also a very bad damn time. Also, to all haters loving this, fuck you. Roenick is still the best ever! (S8) - Weekend PT 3 - Record Breaking Potential - CDub2 - 06-10-2018 This one should be pretty easy to write for. Bobby Rainey has been crazy this year. He was good last year for the Wraiths, but now he's taken a prominent role in the two-headed run game for the Wraiths. While his yard totals might not be record breaking, he's on pace for a ridiculous touchdown total. 9 Touchdowns in 6 games. Just think about that. He's scoring every game at will. There's no doubt that he will break 10 TDs, which is impressive for a second year player. The real test is whether he will break teammate Akselsen's rush TD record of 16. At his pace, he will crush it. As the rest of the schedule progresses, the Wraiths do play some tough defences, but Rainey is only improving and I believe he will continue to rake in the scores for the league leading Wraiths. Well, at least I hope so. 152 (S8) - Weekend PT 3 - Record Breaking Potential - Moosecop - 06-10-2018 ![]() |
