(S2) - PT #2 - Locker Personalization - ErMurazor - 08-01-2017 My locker is a pretty simple place compared to some of the other players. I keep my Microsoft Surface on a shelf so I can review film (I just cashed in $100k for saying that), I also keep a Papa John’s Pizza available just in-case I need a snack ($200k ca-ching), I also keep a case of Gatorade flow cooling in my Kenmore Mini-Fridge ($100k and $50k, I’m raking it in), I also keep my Gillette razor handy so I can stay looking sharp for my press conferences ($75k, it’s too easy). Now that I have my endorsement requirements out of the way, I also have one other signature item that I keep in my locker. I like to keep the ladies satisfied, so I always wear some very classy animal print man-thong underwear. Well you know I like to keep things fresh so I keep a well-organized rotation going. So I got each pair labeled for the occasion, for example Monday mornings I’m sporting my white tiger pair labeled “MM,” in case I see a cute trainer in the morning I’ve got to give her a sample, you know what I’m talking about. Well the weird thing is, my most popular pair of leopard print, labeled Find Ladies or Cook Kimchi (abbreviated “FLOCK”) which is a tradition I’ve had going since my college days where on Friday nights if I don’t find a suitable lady to take home I stay up late and have Kimchi, disappeared when Stormblessed left the locker room and headed to Vegas. At first I thought it was a coincidence and figured they got lost in the post-championship celebration. Well then recently, I saw Stormblessed on the news sniffing my leopard print thong with “FLOCK” printed on the inside. Now normally I’m more of a “just do you” sort of guy, but what kind of guy steals another man’s underwear and sniffs them on the local news? I get that they’re silky soft, but come on Stormy, you need Jesus man. Next time Flock brings your mother around I’m going to have to have a talk with her. @Stormblessed @theFlock (S2) - PT #2 - Locker Personalization - TheRealBK - 08-01-2017 I guess you can say that my locker is kinda just basic and normal. The first thing you'll see is my jersey from high school. I wore that baby for three years, and was thankfully able to take it with me after my senior year. This jersey really put my name on the map for Ohio State, since they kinda had a look at me before. It was the third to last game of the regular season in my senior year that really stood out, since I threw an 80-yarder with relative ease at that time, and that was when Ohio started sending me in the offers. Next to that, you'll see a CD walkman. Before you start anything, I will say that I am NOT from 1997, and am just learning the 2017 things. I have always felt that the quality of the song is better on a CD than it is on an mp3 file. Yes, I know mp3's are on CD's, too, but when people make them for a living, it tends to be high quality and better sounding than one you rip off of YouTube and hope that it sticks onto your iPod Touch. The picture on the left side of my locker is my girlfriend, Louisanna. We met in tenth grade geography class, while I was having a hard time figuring out where Chile was on the map. She ended up getting a degree in Geography and is pursuing a teaching career in that field, along with a minor in Drama. She always did like to act, but she was the best at improv comedy. She knew what jokes to say at the right time, and knew how to deliver them. She hasn't come with me to San Jose yet, since she has to finish up her contract with the Cleveland school board, which is next year, but she gave me this picture to remember her with. Lastly, you'll see a championship belt hiding behind my jersey. I'm not trying to hide it, it's just the best place to put it. Twenty pounds of pure gold, ruby gems, and a nameplate that says 'Ric Flair'. Ric and I met at a bar in Cleveland about a year ago, during one of my rare weeks off, and he and I had a great conversation about my football career, and his wrestling career. He said that he wanted to give me one of his World Title replicas as a 'good luck charm', so I kept it with me during the Combine, and had it in my bag during the draft. It's been pretty good luck so far. (S2) - PT #2 - Locker Personalization - Admin - 08-01-2017 Josh Gardens locker is much more organized than one might think. People have labeled the star wide receiver as a "problem child" or "headache" and have simply been waiting for Garden to slip up again and find himself suspended. What many people don't know is that is not the case, Josh Garden has turned his life around and is a model teammate. His locker echos the changes that Garden has made for himself. There isn't anything out of place or any sort of "green" paraphernalia to be seen. Instead you'll find a book on meditation sitting beside an iPod full of relaxing sounds he listens to when he is trying to nap or mediate. He's got a picture of his mama front and center with a note on it that she wrote him the last time he got suspended. He uses it as a reminder to always stay on track and do things right from now on. You may find notes he has scribbled that he wants to remember about the next corner and next defense he is facing but there isn't really a ton to it besides those things. Garden has tried to keep things relaxed and easy to deal with so he isn't tempted by negative influences and so far it seems like he is suceeding. 218 words (S2) - PT #2 - Locker Personalization - deadendpath27 - 08-01-2017 locker of a real G - hand-made ![]() (S2) - PT #2 - Locker Personalization - iamslm22 - 08-01-2017 My locker is pretty damn straight forward. It's got pictures of all of my biddies from home, it's got weights for me to do my workouts and it's got all the seasons of the wire including my boy Avon Barksdale on DVD and a laptop to watch them on. But most importantly I have an X-Box with an array of games for our squad to play together. We got NSFL Madden 18, which is obviously the most popular. Nothing brings everyone together more than playing Madden all together against each other. Other things in the locker includes a ton of protein powder, protein bars, beef jerky, a bunch of other stuff needed to keep a 6 foot 6 inch three hundred eighty pound dude at his current weight. Also got a boombox to listen to music. Nothing like listening to music to get you hyped for a big game. Being from Brooklyn obviously favorite is Biggie Smalls, aside from Biggie I think the best to listen to, to get super hyped is Eminimen. Lose yourself particularly is probably the best. Overall the locker of Avon Barksdale is nothing special. Its a pretty straight forward locker for an NSFL rookie O-lineman. Can't wait to get that corner locker though. He has some pregame rituals which are quite interesting to those unfamiliar with his personality and his way. First, one shelf of the locker has bags of Sour Sketti, the string candy made by the confectionary company Haribo. This stuff can really irritate ones teeth if they are unused to eating it, but for Bailey Cook, consumption of Sour Sketti is so frequent that his teeth have built a sort of resistance to the sugar. After being unhealthy, he switches gears, and is known to keep a bowl of apples in his locker as well. He will eat one or two of these before or after a game, as apples are his favorite fruit. He keeps his lucky pen and pad in the locker as well, as writing calms him down. He is a solid writer, and some of his college professors stated his authorial mind was often too big to contain, and he occasionally made up his own prompts to essays, unbeknownst to those in charge. At the end of the day, it's all about camaraderie for Bailey Cook though, and that's why he keeps a picture of his friends from his old school in his locker as well. Cook and five friends had gone into New York City to catch a NCAA basketball game shortly before his transfer to Florida State. Although he hasn't seen these people in a while, he hasn't forgotten them - and I'm sure they haven't forgotten him either. (*pour one out for the real Bailey Cook, I miss this kid*) Those are just some of the things that give Bailey Cook's locker some true Bailey Cook flare. (S2) - PT #2 - Locker Personalization - Yurt6 - 08-01-2017 Peering into Clifford Rove’s locker is like reading his complete biography. It seems that every step in his football life is represented by a trinket, token, or piece of memorabilia. His first trophy from playing flag football is hidden on the shelf behind gear strewn around. Back in those days he was a kicker, before the coach saw him throwing around a football after a game. If you search for it, you can find the picture of him receiving his first ever game ball. But when asked about the most important memory represented in his locker, Rove says the answer is easy. “It would have to be the picture of us after we won the state championship back when I was a sophomore in high school. For the first time I felt like I really led the team, and was a big part of the offense. At that point my arm wasn’t as strong as some of the other quarterbacks in the league, so I decided I’d have to make up for it by studying the game. I point to that moment as the year I became what I am today.” While his future is uncertain, it is no question that the locker will be holding more tokens in the coming years. 212 words (S2) - PT #2 - Locker Personalization - Shadowz - 08-01-2017 Godfrey King is a big proponent of the importance of keeping items special to a player in one’s own locker. Before any game, the locker is where you’ll find King, quietly looking over and seemingly meditating with those items that are close to him. As part of this special program, we get to take a look into what these items are. Buried under all the team shirts and jerseys, the first item prominently on display in King’s locker is a team picture of his Philadelphia high school’s state championship team (won his senior year against an extremely competitive field). This item is very important to King, as he says it’s the first time he truly understood the grit and determination required to take it all. Within the frame of the state championship photo, a smaller picture of King with his mom can be found, that one for obvious motivational purposes. The final item in King’s locker designed to pump him up is a simple one – a seemingly standard whistle. That of his former coach, King says the whistle reminds him to stay disciplined while also giving it his all every night, as his coach promised him not too long ago that he wouldn’t miss for the world the opportunity to watch Godfrey King become an NSFL legend. (S2) - PT #2 - Locker Personalization - youngcricket - 08-02-2017 My locker is nothing but motivation. In it I have a pair of my college cleats hanging, a my jersey, and a picture of my team. All of these represent loss in college, when we lost in the conference championship which would have propelled us to the big dance. Those items remind me of my drive to be the best and how I will never let that pain hold me back again. I also have a giant picture of Ian Bavitz, a freaking fathead of him. After losing to him to make it into the Pro Bowl, after I felt like I had the much better season, I was enraged. I decided to hang it up because I am still upset that there was even a chance people could choose him over me. I also have a picture of all of the Otters. Because I fucking hate them and they are all idiots. As far as things to make me happy, I have some gummy worms and a few pictures of my family. I also have a classic picture of my buddy @`YoloSwag420` or Luke Luechly and I hanging out together. My favorite thing is probably a picture of Ernston crying because I hit him too hard in practice, that's a classic. (S2) - PT #2 - Locker Personalization - AsylumParty - 08-02-2017 Behind the jersey and the seated helmet are pictures of a receiving great. Perhaps not a hall of famer, or even the best receiver of the last year, but rather, a critical and under appreciated piece of the offense, Anquan Boldin. Now, that's not to say that receivers, especially talented receivers are usually under appreciated, but that the sort of receiver role he plays flys under the radar when it comes to fans. Possession receivers are the spine of football teams. They keep it propped up, they're the sigh of relief after a third and long, and often enough they're the reason a team wins or loses. Boldin has shown consistently that he is one of the best possession receivers of all time, if not the best. Without him the Ravens wouldn't have won Superbowl 51, nor would Stafford had seen the level of success he did last year in Detroit. When it comes to the stat sheets, Boldin might not always look sexy, but if you would pay attention to the space between the lines, you'll see a guy that sacrifices his ego for the team and that's exactly what I aspire to be. It's one of the most commendable ways to play the game in my opinion. Especially in a time when it seems as if everybody out there wants to be the next O'Dell Beckham or something. Being loud isn't always a plus. That goes for off and on the field. |
