I cannot help but believe that this anger is not stemming from this single error but instead with a different issue that the community at large has with HO. HO and GMs often have very long detailed discussions about all or most rule proposals throughout the season that lead to them being on a ballot, and in fact there are at least 2 separate channels for each level of GMs to discuss things. I don't know a single HO member or GM who spends less than an hour a day on their jobs, and anyone insinuating that they do not care or don't put enough effort in are straight up wrong. Everyone makes mistakes, and in this case I don't think a single person in the league would have said anything publicly if the proposal hadn't been in the original post. It was removed, so it was a simple mistake that was fixed and apologized for. Also, when I was GM, I remember on two or three separate occasions asking my team if they had any rule proposals they would like me to submit or discuss with me. The only times I did not were early in my career when basically my entire team was in my war room and seasons I already had plans for both my proposals. I have asked my updaters any season that I don't have a rule already lined up for proposal if they have anything they would like proposed. If your concern is that rules summit is not addressing your concerns, then talk to your GMs about that in private, don't blast HO in public. Your GMs are there to help you at a more personal level than HO and they should be the ones you are going after if you feel that your voice is not being heard. That being said, I have been very grateful to see reasonable discussion in most of this thread. I couldn't tell you the last time HO used 100% of the proposal slots we're allotted. So blow up our DMs in the lead-up to next rule summit. Actually talk to us about what you want to see changed. If you're not willing to speak with us directly, cool. Utilize the league survey, utilize the forum suggestion box, talk to your GMs. GMs especially want to hear from their players on stuff like this. I personally think there's a lot of truth to all of this you stated 37th. And I think, if they're being honest, the average user can also see why it can be frustrating to the average HO member who's also going about it in good faith and struggling with their own blind spots. Moral of the story is we all need to work on those blind spots and being kinder to each other in these threads as things get heated. All that being said, on the topic of accessing blind spots, I just want to highlight the latest off-season PT in which HO is trying to do that very thing. It focuses a lot on transparency, and as someone who contributed to the drafting of some of the questions, a lot of it is just: "tell us what we are missing." So I definitely recommend that everyone take that PT seriously and constructively so that we can continue to improve as a league. Given the fact that 7/7s are given so rarely anyways, they should be worth the time and effort put into them. This will also further incentivize new users to try and make graphics, as a decent amount of effort (4/7) makes them a good payday. As an occasional GFX submitter who wastes time doing jersey changes, background removals and only gets paid 1 million, I'm glad to be notified by the HO and basically the head of GFX that I don't put in a "decent amount of effort". No wonder nobody does them. RE: S28 Rules Summit - LimJahey - 03-22-2021 (03-22-2021, 05:56 PM)JBLAZE_THE_BOSS Wrote:(03-22-2021, 11:19 AM)LimJahey Wrote:(03-22-2021, 10:33 AM)iStegosauruz Wrote: 9. If you want to understand more of what the team looks for in a submission, or for new techniques to design your sig to change it up feel free to message me about it or join our graphics discord. I understand you're frustrated about the results your submissions receive, the people in the gfx discord and community are more than happy to toss around ideas with you on ways to make your submissions stick out more. RE: S28 Rules Summit - excelsior - 03-23-2021 We went from being mad at HO for having fun to complaining about graphics grading. RE: S28 Rules Summit - jdourtled - 03-23-2021 The only thing I took out of this thread is that apparently there is (or isn't? or may be on the horizon? a plot to build?) a players union. And I for one am looking forward to some scab sim football RE: S28 Rules Summit - BenDover - 03-23-2021 CANTALOUPE CROCODILE MVP |
