(S7) - PT 2 - NS-if-L - Oles - 04-09-2018 Requirements Written: Must include 200 words. There have been a lot of situations that could play out differently, situations that if one thing changes the whole league goes in a much different direction. Write about one of these situations. Graphic: Create a sig or similar image about the situation. If it's a player on a different team, make a sig for them on that team, if it's a result that completely changes the playoffs, show the changed result and how it changes the playoffs. Full Payout = 3 TPE Do not claim this TPE until a post is made in the claim thread. Deadline Saturday, April 14th, 11:59 PM PST (S7) - PT 2 - NS-if-L - Oles - 04-09-2018 Most of us know the tale of the season 2 draft class. A deep draft riddled with controversy, as it would be discovered that multiple members were actually puppets of another member. While I’m not going to go into detail for every round and every multi, I will talk about the ones in the first two rounds. There were 2 known multis, Tim Pest and Brokk Lee. Both of these multis have something in common, their position is OL, and we all know OL was a huge position of need for the whole league in the early seasons, before we outsourced that position to robots. Tim Pest was easily a top prospect and could have gone 1oa had it not been for Dermot. What happens if we remove these two players? Well first off Pest, Arizona would still go OL here but it’s the guy right after Pest, in Vincent Sharpei. Sharpei is the top offensive lineman in the draft with no Pest to be seen, so it’s an easy choice. With this the Sabercats now need a new pick, but unlike the Outlaws they go to another position of need and take Darnell Turner. After S1 CB was another position of need for most teams, as they were versatile and able to be used not only as CBs, but also at safety and KR/PR. Turner is the next best CB on the board (at the time) and is an easy choice for the team that needs a good bit. Assuming all other teams stay the same the next change in picks goes to the Hawks, who now need two replacements as Turner is off the board and Brokk Lee never existed. With these two picks they keep the mindset the same, one OL one CB, and they take Tyler Oles and Jordan Yates, helping two positions of need with two solid prospects. Oles is the 3rd CB off the board, and Yates is the 4th OL, both help solidify their respective positions on the Hawks roster and Yates proves to be an upgrade over Lee, as he isn’t a multi. The Sabercats now have a hole to fill, and they’re looking RB here, taking Ardie Savea. Savea has been a workhorse back for the Legion/Second Line, a solid presence who has been a top producer at the spot. Next the Liberty need to make their new pick, and with this they go Dustin Evans, a WR. While it isn’t the CB they’re looking for, they solidify their WR group as Evans joins Jefferson (WR at the time), and Fox North. With Jefferson eventually switching Evans comes in and creates a dangerous duo with North, but the Liberty still are weak at CB, and well everything since they’re a shell of a team right now in the draft. At 14, the Otters then take Roman Thomas, the safety who went 1 position later in the actual draft. At 15 the Yeti take Ragner Kronen, taking the Otters safety after the Otters took the Yeti safety. At 16 the Outlaws go Owen Taylor, building their DL up some more. There we go, I might write more about it in the future but this PT was getting long and I don’t need a 600 word pt, so 550 words will be fine. (S7) - PT 2 - NS-if-L - infinitempg - 04-09-2018 What if Josh Garden doesn't drop that ball? Does Philadelphia win? Surely, they must, right? With 1:27 left, they would be up by 1 point and kicking off... The return by Bradley Westfield a trap - running to the right end of the field he laterals to Jordan Yates, who gallops down to the Otter 40 yard line. Now only needing to go about 30 yards to get into Madlad's range, the Otters start eating clock while methodically moving the ball. With 30 seconds left, they find themselves at a 4th and 3 at the Liberty 32 - a routine kick for Madlad. Splitting the uprights, they decide what to do for the kickoff. Some players on the bench want them to attempt an onside kick - and they are backed by the coaches. The Liberty have been running a very tight return formation the entire game - sending a gunner out to the far edge of the field would be a certain success. In reality, it is a massive failure - the ball bounces past the outstretched hands of Tegan Atwell but somehow stays in bounds. Turning into a glorified squib kick, the ball continues rolling down the field until Paul DiMiro picks it up. Desperate and surrounded, he throws it across the field to a wide open Josh Garden waiting at the Liberty 35! Garden sprints down the field, with blockers ahead, certain to score! Liberty fans everywhere begin seeing glory in their eyes, visions of the parades cloud their heads... Josh Garden included. He slows down as he goes to cross into the endzone with 3 seconds left, basking in the light when suddenly, redeeming herself, Tegan Atwell strips the ball from his hands! The ball bounces through the endzone, giving the Otters a touchback with 1 second left. It is an easy kneel-down for Mike Boss, and the Otters remain the 3 time Ultimus champions... and Josh Garden remains a villain to the Liberty faithful. 325 words ![]() (S7) - PT 2 - NS-if-L - bovovovo - 04-09-2018 WHAT IF SIM WAS GOOD. If we consider Mills still goes 1 and Joshua at 2, but instead the Yetoo grab Leafer, then that would shake up the draft quite a bit. The Liberty would skip out on Norman Bagwell and grab Aaron, considering Bagwell was not a near max earner. Then NOLA would take the chance to grab Bagwell instead of PFTN to help their weak defense. The Hawks, now without Austin Roenick to switch to linebacker would instead pick Elvin Enchant to play linebacker. The Wraiths are still going to be weirdos and draft like 80 running backs (give or take), and then the otters will draft Glenn Mcpoyal as he is the best player on the board. Long story short if the Yeti had drafted Leafer instead of me they would probably would have still gone 0-14 with a rookie quarterback, but their future would have perhaps been brighter. But who really knows with this league, it's starting to seem like the otters will win for eternity. Speaking of the otters being overpowered can someone fix that please? They're too good 205 Words (S7) - PT 2 - NS-if-L - Beaver - 04-09-2018 OH BOY I WONDER WHAT SITUATION I'M GOING TO WRITE ABOUT THAT IF IT HAD GONE DOWN DIFFERENTLY EVERYTHING WOULD HAVE UNFOLDED IN A DIFFERENT MANNER I MEAN COULD I POSSIBLY PICK ANYTHING BESIDES CONNOR TANNER CONSPIRING TO COERCE, BAMBOOZLE, BLACKMAIL, RINGLEAD, PLOT, AND OTHERWISE FORCE ~TOTALLY ACTIVE AND CONTRIBUTING MEMBERS OF THE COMMUNITY~ INTO A MASS RETIREMENT THAT COMPLETELY DESTROYED THE LAS VEGAS LEGION TO THE POINT THAT THEY HAD TO REBRAND IN A DIFFERENT TIME ZONE I'M PRETTY SURE I CAN'T SO YEAH THINGS DEFINITELY WOULD BE DIFFERENT IF THAT DIDN'T HAPPEN FIRST I'M PRETTY SURE THE LAS VEGAS LEGION WOULD STILL EXIST AND SECOND WE DEFINITELY WOULD'VE WON AT LEAST 2 ULTIMUS CHAMPIONSHIPS BECAUSE ALL THOSE PLAYERS THAT CONNOR TANNER FORCED TO RETIRE AGAINST THEIR WILL WERE LIKE SUPER GOOD AND REALLY HIGH TPE AND IT'S REALLY A SHAME THAT HE DID THAT BECAUSE THEY DEFINITELY WEREN'T SEMI ACTIVE AT BEST AND THE LEGION HAD A TON OF PLAYERS UPDATING EVERY WEEK AT THAT POINT AND IT TOTALLY WASN'T JUST 3 OF US SO YEAH THE ENTIRE TRAJECTORY OF THE NATIONAL SIMULATION FOOTBALL LEAGUE WOULD BE DIFFERENT BECAUSE WE WOULDN'T HAVE THE ORANGE COUNTY DYNASTY IT WOULD'VE BEEN THE LAS VEGAS DYNASTY WITH ORANGE COUNTY PLAYING SECOND FIDDLE AND SAN JOSE IN THEIR NORMAL SPOT OUTSIDE THE PLAYOFFS AND MAYBE BORKUS AND BRISTER NEVER MEET AND GET MARRIED. Code: 232 words (S7) - PT 2 - NS-if-L - timeconsumer - 04-09-2018 I was once told by a kinda-reliable source that during the S1 draft the GM of the Wraiths Nuck wanted to draft me with the #2 overall pick. I can't verify that it is true or not but I do know I was really excited about the prospect of playing for the Wraiths. So what if the co-GM not to be named did not talk Nuck out of drafting me #2 OA? What would the NSFL be like if the Wraiths had drafted me? First of all Nuck would have immediately received my data (prepared in advance) as soon as I saw my name hit the post that they had selected me. The PM was pre-written and ready to send with all the information I had gathered about the sim, like how heavy DTs were much better than light DTs. Now I'd have to assume that he would have selected me in part for this information (I told those scouting me that I had it) so he would have been looking for it, and used it. Now after he finishes his draft, what happens to the Wraiths? Do they go on to dominate and win everything? What about when Nuck goes inactive and RFFO jumps to the legion? Is Akselsen even there to takeover as GM? Probably not. Would I have taken over as GM? Probably not. I'd say the Wraiths would actually be worse off with me than they are without me because of that. There's a fun "if" for ya....drafting one of the best players in the NSFL could have made your team worse. |
