*S8 Rule Proposals that didn’t pass - bovovovo - 07-19-2018 Below are the rules that were proposed last offseason, were voted on by GMs and the HO, but didn’t pass. Check out the NSFL announcements to see the ones that did pass (Please don’t grade this, it’s literally just copy pasted) #1. 5% Carryover based off total TPE earned. If you choose to use the carryover, this will replace the initial 50 TPE to build your person. You can either use the initial 50 TPE or use the 5% carryover. This number will be based off total TPE earned. The goal of this is to keep veteran members around and creating new players. We want to keep the active people here. #4. TPE is based on the most recent update prior to signing. In addition, for every year a player is signed beyond the first, said player must be paid as though 100 TPE higher in each successive year. Example: a 200 TPE player signs a 3 year minimum contract. The contract would cost 4 million over those three years (200 TPE first year, 300 the second, 400 the third). There would be no restrictions regarding structuring. #5. If a player changes archetypes they will be allowed to move 25% of their total TPE to new attributes. No attribute may go over the maximum value allowed with the new build, even if it was above it before the position switch. #6. When a rookie is sent to the DSFL, Only 50% of his contract will be covered by his DSFL team. The remaining 50% will count against the cap of his NSFL team. (To give some reasoning, the draft isn't a risk free proposition in basically any sport, but that is essentially what it is here. Even MLB teams that send guys down to the minors have to pay them massive signing bonuses when they're drafted. I think that forcing teams to cover part of their rookie contracts would also create a trickle down affect in free agency. Do you sign your veteran player for another season and face a cap crunch or do you call up a less expensive rookie? This would presumably put more ""veteran"" players onto the FA market, which is something a lot of us seem to be looking for ways to force) #7. Kicker is useless as it stands right now. Let’s just make kicker bots, no extra cost like OL bots, just straight TPE minimum. Also GMs can’t make their own bots, we just make a strong leg, accurate leg, and balanced bot. 400 TPE and it is $2M per year. You can change your bot once per season. Kickers currently in the league can stay or get a free position change #8. "Carryover Cap” Basically unused cap space from a previous season can be carried over to the current season at a 25% rate (max $1M carryover) So lets say this happened. S7 $73M/$75M in cap will give you $500K in cap for S8 They have this in the NFL and I see no real need for it other than it could be fun." #9. Each team may only trade away a maximum of 10m in cap space each season. Covering contracts of traded players is still allowed. #10. If a player changes positions they will be allowed to move 25% of their total TPE to new attributes. No attribute may go over the maximum value allowed with the new build, even if it was above it before the position switch. *S8 Rule Proposals that didn’t pass - iamslm22 - 07-19-2018 Of these - the one I'm upset about is number 4. I think this is a pretty good contract, though we can make a fix for regression. *S8 Rule Proposals that didn’t pass - kckolbe - 07-19-2018 I remember that before we went to OL bots, we had a thread where pretty much every active OL posted in it and said they would be happy switching. Maybe we should post a thread for kickers to weigh in on whether they would want to change if kicker bots were implemented? *S8 Rule Proposals that didn’t pass - iamslm22 - 07-19-2018 (07-19-2018, 09:20 AM)kckolbe Wrote:I remember that before we went to OL bots, we had a thread where pretty much every active OL posted in it and said they would be happy switching. I spoke to a couple kickers who didn't want this, which is why I ultimately voted against it. *S8 Rule Proposals that didn’t pass - infinitempg - 07-19-2018 (07-19-2018, 09:44 AM)iamslm22 Wrote:I spoke to a couple kickers who didn't want this, which is why I ultimately voted against it. can confirm, i don't want to switch *S8 Rule Proposals that didn’t pass - sapp2013 - 07-19-2018 (07-19-2018, 08:57 AM)infinitempg Wrote:can confirm, i don't want to switch #bestkicker *S8 Rule Proposals that didn’t pass - run_CMC - 07-19-2018 (07-19-2018, 09:20 AM)kckolbe Wrote:I remember that before we went to OL bots, we had a thread where pretty much every active OL posted in it and said they would be happy switching. This rule would make it very hard to, which I detailed in our voting thread. Thankfully it didn’t pass, but I don’t know how close it came since GMs didn’t see Head Office votes this year. *S8 Rule Proposals that didn’t pass - Bzerkap - 07-19-2018 (07-19-2018, 09:07 AM)run_CMC Wrote:I actually talked to several kickers when I saw this rule proposed, and we all want to stay kicker. On one hand, god damn I wouldn't have to slave over PTs in order to play catch up, but on the other hand it'd add diversity to each draft class and prevent a couple of individuals dominating every class they ended up at. *S8 Rule Proposals that didn’t pass - kckolbe - 07-19-2018 (07-19-2018, 02:09 PM)daBenchwarmer Wrote:bittersweet about #1 not passing. I get what you mean, but you'd have to hit 1k TPE just to break even, so some folks wouldn't benefit at all. |
