*Week 14 QB TANY/A - kckolbe - 08-12-2018 Logan Noble Attempts 521 Completions 245 Yards 2567 Sacks 88 Yards Lost 642 TD 5 INT 16 Rushes 9 Yards -1 TD 0 Fumbles 4 Plays 618 Yards 1924 Adjustment -710 TANY/A 1.964401294 The dream may not be over. After a season of teasing us with so many "records," Logan Noble may be back in Season Ten. His 1.96 TANY/A was only 3rd worst in league history, but he now holds a single season record for lowest completion percentage with 47.025 and now a single game record for most yards lost due to sacks with 113. He was sacked 36 times over his final 3 games, which shows that if he does come back, he will set the record for most times sacked in a single season. Kevin Fitzpatrick Attempts 492 Completions 283 Yards 2822 Sacks 43 Yards Lost 272 TD 14 INT 22 Rushes 22 Yards 70 TD 0 Fumbles 3 Plays 557 Yards 2620 Adjustment -777.5 TANY/A 3.307899461 San Jose did about as much as they could to help Fitzy win, and it eventually paid off, but that was an ugly game for all involved. It wasn't an ugly season, though, provided you are comparing him to rookies and Logan Noble. @Bzerkap named him the first good rookie quarterback, which I am quite proud of. Of particular note is that only Mat Akselsen and Avon Blocksdale were sacked fewer times than Fitzpatrick. Brad Pennington Attempts 525 Completions 312 Yards 2888 Sacks 49 Yards Lost 311 TD 13 INT 18 Rushes 15 Yards 27 TD 1 Fumbles 3 Plays 589 Yards 2604 Adjustment -597.5 TANY/A 3.406621392 With a whopping 19 plays for 76 yards, Pennington seemed happy to let the season just end without him. This was a rough sophomore year. His rookie season had him throwing to Mayran Jackson (who, 2 seasons later, will still be a starting receiver) as his #1 and Shane Weston as his #2. It was a duo any rookie QB would want. However, with free agency claiming Jackson and Weston regressing, Pennington arguably had the least to work with of any QB this year. I mention this because, despite such a downgrade in weapons, Pennington still improved considerably from last season. Next season, not having to worry about losing any more talent, he should have a breakout year. He'll have to, because only Pierno has had a worse sophomore performance. Mat Akselsen Attempts 484 Completions 285 Yards 3183 Sacks 24 Yards Lost 159 TD 18 INT 12 Rushes 88 Yards 562 TD 2 Fumbles 3 Plays 596 Yards 3586 Adjustment -207.5 TANY/A 5.668624161 In S7, Akselsen had a TANY/A of 6.92. In S8, his first year of regression, it dropped to a 6.75, hardly significant. This year, a 5.67? I certainly hope the Yellowknife front office figured out what wasn't working, because if he drops off like that again, Yellowknife will be a 4 win team. It's worth noting that Akselsen's last 4 games averaged a 6.6 score, so hopefully they figured it out. I think every fantasy player is eyeing him very carefully for next season. Ryan Applehort Attempts 570 Completions 338 Yards 4142 Sacks 48 Yards Lost 298 TD 27 INT 10 Rushes 11 Yards 39 TD 0 Fumbles 1 Plays 629 Yards 3883 Adjustment 67.5 TANY/A 6.280604134 Is this what normal QB progression is supposed to look like? A TANY/A of 1.49 as a rookie, jumping up to a 4.12 as a sophomore, then a 6.28 in the third year? The question everyone in Colorado has to be asking is: can a QB have 3 breakout seasons in a row? If so, next year is looking very good. Mike Boss Attempts 665 Completions 381 Yards 5187 Sacks 66 Yards Lost 441 TD 36 INT 15 Rushes 9 Yards -3 TD 0 Fumbles 0 Plays 740 Yards 4743 Adjustment 45 TANY/A 6.47027027 His final season performance was a 22/45, 1 TD, 2 INT mess between two teams that had nothing to win or lose. Mike Boss walks off #1 in total plays, pass attempts, completions, passing yards, total yards, touchdowns, interceptions, sacks taken, and yards lost to sacks. He was, however, arguably the least mobile QB ever, finishing only 6th in rushing attempts and 9th in rushing yards. At least he held on to the ball well, only fumbling 9 times in his career, 7th all-time. On top of that, he holds some other single game and season records that I will write about later. Enjoy your retirement, @JBLAZE_THE_BOSS, and your eventual selection into the Hall of Fame. Borkus Maximus S9 Attempts 594 Completions 356 Yards 4563 Sacks 43 Yards Lost 292 TD 33 INT 9 Rushes 33 Yards 140 TD 1 Fumbles 4 Plays 670 Yards 4411 Adjustment 185 TANY/A 6.859701493 After a disappointing start to the season, Maximus finished pretty strong, but I have to wonder how much better he might have been had he rushed a bit less often. Those 4 fumbles tied Logan Noble for the lead (though not all were from rushing). I think Maximus will be the most efficient QB in the league next season if he plays smart. Avon Blocksdale Attempts 553 Completions 350 Yards 4517 Sacks 30 Yards Lost 186 TD 26 INT 12 Rushes 8 Yards 28 TD 0 Fumbles 0 Plays 591 Yards 4359 Adjustment -20 TANY/A 7.34179357 I'm hearing some murmuring about other folks for MVP, but not only was Blocksdale the most efficient QB this season, thus far it is the second-best season ANY QB has had. Only Mike Boss in S6 has ever been more efficient (so far). If I had a vote, it would definitely go to Avon Blocksdale. *Week 14 QB TANY/A - timeconsumer - 08-12-2018 Interesting take, sure makes Blocksdale vs Maximus seem a lot less close than I originally thought *Week 14 QB TANY/A - Bzerkap - 08-12-2018 Disappointing season for all of us in YKW and it starts with my poor play *Week 14 QB TANY/A - timeconsumer - 08-12-2018 (08-12-2018, 05:04 PM)Bzerkap Wrote:Disappointing season for all of us in YKW and it starts with my poor play Jamal Slick - S11 *Week 14 QB TANY/A - Bzerkap - 08-12-2018 (08-12-2018, 03:01 PM)timeconsumer Wrote:Jamal Slick - S11maybe *Week 14 QB TANY/A - kckolbe - 08-12-2018 (08-12-2018, 03:01 PM)timeconsumer Wrote:Jamal Slick - S11 By the time Slick is eligible, Yellowknife will be able to start Metaxas, who just hit 200 TPE. Not saying I'd want him as a long term option, but he may end up being a serviceable stop gap for 1-2 seasons while a GM recreates and develops in DSFL. Not saying that is the plan, but it would work as one. Or they could grab one of the many S10 options. Falconi, Wozy, Bennett, Orosz, Christ. QB is once again competitive. *Week 14 QB TANY/A - iamslm22 - 08-12-2018 (08-12-2018, 03:50 PM)kckolbe Wrote:I'm hearing some murmuring about other folks for MVP, but not only was Blocksdale the most efficient QB this season, thus far it is the second-best season ANY QB has had. I wouldn't expect Noble to break any sack records even if he is our starter next season. *Week 14 QB TANY/A - kckolbe - 08-13-2018 (08-13-2018, 07:13 AM)adam2552 Wrote:We changed our gameplanning the last few weeks of the season to try and improve our draft position. Yeah, with a stud like Brown at RB, I expect a lot more running. *Week 14 QB TANY/A - Bzerkap - 08-17-2018 In the end a better team won over a better QB |
