In news from Orange County Otters offseason OTAs it appears that all-star linebacker Angus Winchester has gained some weight this offseason. This photo was snapped of him on the side of the field looking significantly heavier than the 265lbs he was playing at in prior seasons. Winchester's production in the Orange County defense has suffered greatly in the past two seasons since the addition of round 1 speedster linebacker Mason Brown.

Some experts are now speculating that the older, slower, and apparently heavier Winchester has lost a step in his later years. Fans wonder if he is still even in shape at all to keep playing football at the professional level. Inside sources tell us he is now close to 300lbs. This is not the first time that Angus Winchester has struggled with his weight. Shortly before being drafted in the Inaugural draft of the National Simulation Football League, Angus Winchester was reported to have put on significant weight from his combine weigh-in of 315lbs for the then-offensive lineman. By his second season he was up to 350lbs playing at left tackle. It wasn't until the removal of offensive linemen entirely that in season 4 Angus Winchester dropped 85lbs to play linebacker, where he has been since.
We reached out to the Orange County Front Office for comment and received this reply:
"We can not confirm nor deny the allegations of Angus' weight. All we can tell you is that he is as strong and a disciplined a player as ever. While his production on the stat sheet the last two seasons is not up to his usual Hall-of-Fame standard his contribution to the team is undeniable. We plan to stick with Angus as a starter and will find a way to get him more involved as an edge rusher where he has excelled for many seasons."
