[div align=\\\"center\\\"]A Huge Draft for Yellowknife
The Yellowknife Wraiths are currently in a bit of a rebuild. Having lost some key players in Tegan Atwell (the top wide receiver for Yellowknife last season), Wallace Stone (a top linebacker for Yellowknife last season), and several other players. we're seeing a time where the Wraiths are hoping to develop some offensive weapons in an effort to compliment their rock solid defense.
The head office in Yellowknife put a lot of thought in who to take at the spots they had picks at and ended up choosing so really great players. The Wraiths had picks 4, 12, 20, 28, and 36. The team needed some great offensive weapons and they found them this season, along with a few great defensive pickups. Let's take a look at who they chose!

@mckee29
Name: Antonio Summer
Position: RB
TPE: 262
Top Attributes: Speed (92), Agility (75), Hands (50)
Some thoughts: Antonio Summer is classic speedy running back. He's already looking like one of the fastest players in the league and he's great at juking around defensive players. He's been one of the most exciting players of the entire class so it's no surprise that he was taken so high in the draft. A great choice at 4th overall, expect Summer to be a staple in Yellowknife for seasons to come. The one thing you have to wonder about: will the Wraiths try to move him into a sort of hybrid wide receiver / running back role to allow him to flourish as a running back while still making him a highly valuable offensive weapon by having him play some downs as a wide receiver. It'll likely be in the hands of Summer whether or not he wants to do that, but at the rate he's been growing it may be beneficial to have him play a more difficult position. Either way, this is a great pickup for the Wraiths.
12th overall
@Bzerkap
Name: Bobson Dugnett
Position: CB
TPE: 182
Top Attributes: Speed (84), Agility (70), Endurance (65)
Some thoughts: Bobson Dugnutt is a player that everyone expected to go to Yellowknife during this draft. Not exactly someone who was flying under the radar, he's expect to be a very very good player for a long time. Interestingly though, it turns out that Dugnutt is related to someone in the Yellowknife front office and he publicly stated that if he were chosen by any different team he would hold out on a contract until he was traded to Yellowknife or would simply play in a different football league. Dugnutt is a zone cornerback who is projected to be the kind of player that can read a play better than most guys and anticipate a pass to the point where you're almost more surprised than not when he doesn't get an interception. Okay that may be an exaggeration, but he's so quick and smart that the only knock you can have against him is his height. Being 6'0" may hurt him a little, but if he has a growth spurt he might be the perfect specimen for being a cornerback. He may need a little more time to develop, but he's on track to be a really useful player for the Wraiths very soon, maybe even by the end of the season!
14th overall
@goilers
Name: Josh Parker
Position: WR
TPE: 189
Top Attributes: Speed (83), Intelligence (70), Hands (70), Endurance (70)
Some thoughts: The Wraiths take their first wide receiver at 14th overall, a position they are desperate for talent at. Josh Parker is a receiver who you expect to eventually slot in as your top receiver with the amount of development you've seen from him in such a small amount of time. Right now he looks more like a running back than a receiver due to how fast he is, but he's too smart to waste in a limited position. The only issue you see in his game that he's so short he may get dwarfed by some of the taller defensive backs in the league, but if he's able to stay in close for the short passes he may be able to get a lot of yards after catching the ball. He's got some great hands so you don't expect him to drop the ball when getting tackled. With a little more time to develop he'll be able to juke around defenders and become a premier receiver in this league.
20th overall
@ztevans
Name: Will Foster
Position: DT
TPE: 175
Top Attributes: Strength (80), Speed (79), Endurance (60)
Some thoughts: The Wraiths lost a defensive tackle this past offseason to age and found one at 20th overall. Foster is a player that should never have been available this late in the draft. He's already looking like a better player than the seasoned veteran the Wraiths had playing tackle last season in Ramadan Steve. Expect to see him grow a lot this season, but maybe not see it reflected in statistics. Defensive tackles are really hard to look at with statistics, especially given that two of the top linebackers this past season weren't even the most athletic guys to choose from. It seems that it's more of a result of how the team's defensive system sets up against the other team's offensive system. He'll be a quietly very good player in Yellowknife.
28th overall
@samee
Name: Thomas Carrasco
Position: RB
TPE: 90
Top Attributes: Speed (75), Endurance (70), Hands (60), Agility (60)
Some thoughts: Thomas Carrasco is a guy who will fit in great as a running back. He's fast and he's able to find the holes in the other team's defense that the linemen make for him. If he keeps developing he's the kind of running back who you can expect to get at least 2 or 3 yards per carry in a few seasons. He'll be a really solid guy for a long time that you can give the ball if you need to get a first down. He won't drop the ball and he'll power through tackles. He'll really committed to his craft and will do great things in his career.
36th overall
@NextGen85
Name: Clark Kent
Position: LB
TPE: 81
Top Attributes: Strength (70), Tacking (70), Speed (70)
Some thoughts: Clark Kent is the perfect mold of a line backer. The best parts of his game are his strength and tackling abilities to finish a tackle, but also how quick he's able to get to the ball carrier. In a position that requires you to be strong and faster and nearly nothing else, Clark Kent will be a useful line backer very soon. We could see him pulled up from the DSFL to the NSFL by season 12. He's getting to the point where he may be better off working on the intellectual and agility part of the game because the best parts of his game are just so too good to focus on anymore. If he keeps working on his game he'll be very good.
