The Luchadores head up to Palm Beach as they take on the newly revamped Solar Bears led by Ethan Whitworth. The Luchadores are one of two teams to win out the preseason and look to continue that streak as Andreas Metaxas(@daBenchwarmer) plays his final season in the DSFL. The Luchadores looked great in the preseason with a whole host of returning players at wide receiver, cornerback, linebacker, and safety. This team struggled a bit last season, but pulled it together to make the Ultimini game. We’ll see if they have another slow start to the season come Tuesday.

The reigning Ultimini champions won all their games in the preseason. The Pythons might be in trouble though, since star receiver Errol Maddox(@PigSnout) was called up just prior to the regular season. Their receiving talent will just consist of Lucius Kaine (@Noble) and robot players to fill in the depth, however, they do have Smallwood-Chess and Corey Trevor to handle the load. Look for Portland to run the ball more this year with a rookie quarterback in Caleb McCoy (@TrueTexican) and a blocking tight end in Stakowski as he makes his return to Portland. Fan favorites Salami (@TommySalami) and Cox (@duckberg) return to hold down the defensive line and David Ginsberg (@DavidCorperial) makes his regular season debut.

A classic NFC vs. SFC match-up rounds out week 1 as the Coyotes take a trip down to Texas to face the Marshals. Both teams didn’t do so hot in the preseason and will look to move past it as their players have completed training camp. Wozy (@TheWoZy) is as spry as ever for the Marshals and they have a formidable run game with returning Prospect Bowl star Fast Boija (@Snussu) and newly drafted Tyler Swift (@`BayleyIsland`). Kindle(@Radsin) and Baxter (@NCISagent1) round out the offensive depth on this team as they face a strong Coyotes cast led by returning sophomore quarterback, Luke Boechler. The Coyotes have a pair of their own running backs in Aksel Danielsson (@JSS) and James Wade with decent receiver depth of their own in Anoa’i (@tlk742) and Kreme (@Hoeforest). The Coyotes do feature the best defensive backs of any DSFL team comprised of Johnny Snuggles (@manicmav36), Jake Verden, Derek Bohne (@wuma), and Jeff Jefferson IV (@Whatistheinternet). They also bring an impressive set of linebackers in Raymond Vans (@karl), Stayve Jerome Thomas (@slimthugga), and Jaren Haden (@JayWhy).

In week 2, the Marshals face division rival Palm Beach. The Marshals faced this team on the road before in preseason week 2 where the Marshals lost a tight game, 26-21. The Marshals will look to not repeat those results and hope to contain Ethan Whitworth better as he had 249 yards and 1 touchdown. The Marshals will be at full strength on offense though and the speedy tandem of Tyler Swift with Fast Boija should be a lot for the bots to handle. Look for the bots to switch up their game plan though and bring more pressure up front. The Marshals have the ability to bring in their own pressure from different sides with defensive end star Benson Harris (@Rich) with Cole Walker (@CaptainCup), and Jon Gott (@JR95).

The Coyotes signal caller will look to start the season with a win over their premier division rival and cement the Coyotes as the best team in the NFC early on in the season with this game. Boechler (@YoungGreekBoy) is one of the best DSFL quarterbacks the league has seen with an elite combination of arm strength and durability. He’s got enough offensive weapons that can be utilized and Portland won’t have the superior defense it had last season with the departure of key players like Charlie Trout, Logan Lejune, and Axel Hornbacher. With no Errol Maddox, the Coyotes secondary should have no trouble covering the Pythons deep this game. The Pythons can never be counted out though since they have a team designed to run the football well in Smallwood-Chess (@4D Chess) and Trevor (@StickyRicky). Stakowski’s (@Shrodawg)return to the team provides a huge boon to their offensive line and run blocking schemes as well.

The Luchadores head back to Tijuana for their first home game of the season against the Seawolves. They defeated this team in preseason week 2, but it was a close 16-10 victory that saw Norfolk make a comeback in the third quarter. Norfolk’s revamped roster features a trio of backs consisting of Kingsley, Eason, and Rush and they run a full committee designed to run the football. The defense, led by Thorian Skarsgard (@MrStennett), should have no issue containing them though and Jonathan Towers (@Supersquare04) returns another season to help their secondary. Towers had an impressive 2 tackles, 3 pass deflections, and 3 interceptions against the Seawolves so look for him to maintain that high level of play again in week 2.
