Good evening this is Cob Bostas with the NSFL Network! In tonight's installment of our DSFL Draft interview series we are chatting with S15 NSFL prospect Johnny Slothface to talk about everything from his brief championship stint in Tijuana last year, to his preparation for the upcoming DSFL Draft.

Cob: Johnny thank you for joining us, I know you have a busy schedule right now getting ready for the DSFL Draft. Speaking of which, how is your preparation for the draft going?
Slothface: No problem Cob, always happy to shamelessly promote myself. My draft prep is going well, I started training the morning after Tijuana's Ultimini win. Which in hindsight was a terrible idea because I had a crazy hangover from the celebration the night before. I woke up on the street outside of the El Alebrije club and went straight over to the Luchadores practice field before security removed me from the facility due to my S13 contract expiring. After that I moved back across the boarder to San Diego and I have been using USD's practice fields to get in time with my trainers.
Cob: Let's hope security lets you stay on the USD field at least. Is there an area of focus that you have been training especially hard?
Slothface: Definitely, when I joined the Luchadores late last season I was coming off the major knee injury I suffered my senior year in college, the one that ultimately kept me from declaring for the last DSFL draft. If I'm being completely honest I came into last season playing a lot slower than my college game speed. My trainers have been great so far this offseason, and I feel like I'm almost where I want to be with my speed. Now my goal is to train my endurance so that I can make a big contribution each game wherever I end up.
Cob: Speaking of the Lucadores, that sounds like quite the night after Tijuana won the Ultimini. Any specifics you can share with us?
Slothface: I don't remember much about the night to tell you the truth. The last thing that's semi-clear in my mind is Corvo Harvan chugging tequila straight from a bottle and Stephen Harris kicking his empties into trashcans on the second story dance floor.
Cob: Hopefully next time I'll get an invite. Staying south of the border, what are your thoughts on your time with the Luchadores?
Slothface: I really enjoyed my time in Tijuana, I got really lucky ending up there after being put on waivers. The training staff was fantastic easing me into game shape, and I have nothing but praise for the coaching staff after their gameplans allowed us to pull off a couple incredible upsets to win the championship. This was probably the perfect way for me to start my professional career as I'm still able to experience the excitement of the DSFL draft after winning it all already.
Cob: Wow that is high praise for the Luchadores. Does that mean you want your draft experience to bring you back to Tijuana?
Slothface: Easy there Cob I see what you're trying to do here. I would be extremely pleased if the Luchadores were to call my name in the upcoming draft, but I can't say I'm closing the door on any of the other teams either. I will be happy going to any team that believes in me enough to draft me. There are so many great prospects in this draft that at this point I'm trying to put in the work so I stand out to the DSFL GM's.
Cob: Fantastic non-answer, you'll fit in well in professional sports. Since you are exploring your options, have you heard from many scouts yet?
Slothface: Actually I have not to be honest. There is still a lot of time left before the draft so I'm not too worried about that. I'm hoping that the game film from our playoff run last season helps solidify my draft stock, but at the same time I'm not too concerned with being drafted in the early rounds. I just want to find a good home. I'm hoping the Not Famous Yet Draft Primer makes it into the hands of some GMs, I may be biased but they really know their stuff.
Cob: What are you looking for in a potential DSFL home?
Slothface: Still being relatively new to the league, it's important to me to go somewhere that is willing to help me grow as a player. Hopefully there are some vets around that can give me some advice as I progress in my career. A strong front office and coaching staff to help mold me into a big team contributor would be fantastic as well. But number one, I would say the group in the locker room is my biggest concern. It's important to me that I play with a squad that is active and enjoys being around each other. Sure winning is great, but I think a large part of a team's success comes from the chemistry in the room. So I'm really hoping to go to a team with a great locker room.
Cob: Reading between the lines, it sounds like a veiled warning to the new expansion teams to not bother drafting you?
Slothface: I'm just here so I don't get fined, but if you keep this up I'm leaving and sending you the bill. That absolutely is NOT a warning to the expansion teams. The intrigue of joining an expansion team, and helping them build a foundation to grow on, is something that I think would be an incredible experience for my career. Their locker rooms may be less established than the other franchises, but that doesn't mean we couldn't help build the room if I were chosen by either expansion team. It would be pretty special to be a part of a franchise history from the beginning. Do you have enough footage now? Are we done?
Cob: Well we actually have a police report here from the Tijuana Police Department that we would like you to comment on
