The San Antonio Marshals went on one of the best single season runs in NSFL or DSFL history, going 13-1 with a great season. Their defense being one of the most prominent pieces of their run. Today I messaged some members of the squad via discord and these were their responses.
The questions were as follows:
1. How does it feel being a member of what some are calling one of the best DSFL teams ever?
2. Do you believe you will be called up to NSFL this coming year?
3. What is your goal as a player?
4. What was your favorite moment from this season?
These were their responses, with my reactions in parenthesis next to it. (119 here)

1. Honestly it's surreal how well this season has gone. I think as a unit we just mesh so well and play as one. But I won't say we're the best ever until we finish the season with an Ultimini. That's been the goal from the start. (That is the best goal just saying)
2. I feel like with expansion teams not being formed until S16 nothing is for sure. If drafted to an expansion team I would have to be sent down due to the team not being a team yet. However, if drafted to a team currently in the NSFL I will prove why I shouldn't be sent down. I work hard every day and it will translate next year. (Being in the discord with him, I can second this, he is a very good earner and would be great on any team)
3. Goal as a player? I have many. I want to win this Ultimini, I want multiple ultimus wins. I want to be regarded as the GOAT linebacker ever. (that is good as it isn’t a main personal goal.)
4. My favorite moment this year was the last game of the season winning in overtime at Tijuana. I had 9 tackles and we came back to win. All around a great time with the Marshal squad. (that game was so good! Really brings together this season for the Marshals)

Hello! Thanks for reaching out to me!
1. It feels really good. I'm still surprised that our performance this season is one of the best performances of all time. I think, looking at the team before the season started, we knew we were gonna do well. But I don't think any of us expected to do *this* well. And, of course, it's not worth much if we don't win a championship too. But I'm confident we'll do that too.( I definitely agree, I think that coming into this year nobody really thought this team would do as well as you guys did, hopefully it can end with a championship win)
2. Yeah, I think so. I'm one of the top TPE earners in this draft class, I'm active on the forums and Discord servers, and I think I have a good reputation around the league. Obviously I have no issue staying in the DSFL for another season, but I expect that I'll be on an NSFL roster next season. But you never know for sure, so we'll have to wait and see what happens.( He has been very active and is a top earner and I do believe he would be a star on a NSFL roster in 2+ years.)
3. My goal as a player is to win multiple championships for my team. The individal accolades and big contracts are nice, but success for me means winning titles. And it means winning those titles for my team. I don't want to be known as a ring chaser or a coattail-rider. I want to be a hometown hero, someone who is loyal to a team and sticks with that team through good times and bad. I want to be known as a good teammate, a positive locker room presence, and a loyal player. (It is always good to have a player who cares more about the team than the individual accolades)
4. God, I have to pick just one? I think I have to go with my Week 3 Defensive Player of the Game award. That win really helped set the tone for us for the rest of the season, and I'm proud of the fact that I was able to have such a significant role in securing that win. I like having an impact in multiple areas of a game. I know that might not be the obvious choice, but I really enjoyed that game. We have a great team, and knowing they had my back gave me the freedom to play with such confidence. (That was one of the games I was able to catch and it caught the essence of this season perfectly)

1. It’s a huge honor really. I’m so happy to have landed in such a good situation in San Antonio with TC and all my fellow rookies- they’re all great guys and are a blast to play with. We’re all playing fantastically and I think that we can continue our success in the postseason and win ourselves an Ultimini.(Yeah TC as made this team into a legendary squad, gaining accomplishment after accomplishment as a GM, he should be promoted to a NSFL GM some time shortly.)
2. It depends on which team I’m drafted by. Some teams have a real need at RB and could call me up immediately, and if others draft me they might send me back down for a season to earn more TPE. Obviously I’d have to go back down if I got drafted by an expansion team.
3. I just want to help my team win. Yes I’m interested in putting up some nice stats, and I can’t say that leading the DSFL in rushing yards wasn’t great, but at the end of the day going out there and winning is how I want to be remembered as a player. (I am glad all these young rookies are more interested in team accolades).
4. There’s so many great moments from this season honestly. Being a little selfish here, one of my favorites is the touchdown I caught from Cooter in OT against the Luchadores to win the game. If I’m allowed to count a whole game, then the Solar Bears game where we got like 5-6 interceptions was awesome.(You’re allowed to be a little selfish with how good of a season you’ve had haha)

1. It has been surreal. Playing at Boise State the team's I was on, we were never considered worthy of recognition. Boise State was always ignored and left behind when sports writers talked about the best teams of the season. So to have all this media attention has been crazy. I'm just happy that we were able to have the success we did. I came into the DSFL with the idea that it was just a stepping stone in my greater NSFL career. I didn't expect this stepping stone to be a big ass Boulder. (I feel you, being on a team where you are being called the best ever is pretty cool)
2. I've heard rumors I could be a 1st or 2nd round pick, which I find unbelievable too. I think I'm good enough to be a starting safety in the NSFL this year. (I believe it.)
3. That's a hard question. Of course every players wants a championship and win, but some of the greats never achieve that. As of right now my goal is to make sure I'm drafted by a GM and team that I'd be happy to play for for many seasons despite the win/loss columns. (That always helps, a good GM is something everyone needs and deserves.)
4. I'll get back to you after the playoffs.(let’s hope so!)

It's been a blast. Obviously the success of the team is incredible, but more than anything I'm just so glad I got to start my career with this group of guys. Everyone in the locker room is awesome, we have a kickass GM who works hard to put us in position to win, and that's shown up on the field.(Yeah the group that we have is so good and so kind to everyone.) 14
2. Yeah, I do. From my conversations with NSFL teams, quite a few of them are looking for immediate contributors on the defensive line and think that I could fit. (I believe that he will be an immediate star for a good defense.)13
3. My goal is to bring as much success to my team as possible. I didn't choose DE because I wanted personal glory - I just want to do my part to help build up whatever team I end up on.( These rookies are smart to choose team success over personal accomplishments)11
4. It's really tough to pick just one moment from this amazing season, but I guess I'd go with our 42-0 win against Palm Beach in week 4. That was the moment when I realized that this team was something special, and that was confirmed a week later when our defense put on a show to beat Portland(those were both solid moments for the squad and fun moments to watch.)13
