This ended up becoming more stream-of-consciousness than I originally hoped, but I’ll pass it off as a blog.

It’s been awhile since I’ve been a part of the public eye. A lot of this season was mainly me just trying to make sense of the league, balance activity, and become a serviceable player that could help my team out. After being drafted in the 9th round of the DSFL draft, I knew that Norfolk was getting a steal. Even though the season didn’t end the way I wanted it to, I’m glad Norfolk was the team that drafted. There are incredible players on that team (shoutout to Gucci, 1OA, and to everyone else drafted).
In a position as stacked in the DSFL as linebacker, I was shocked to put up the numbers I did. Any time you take someone as late as I was taken, expectations have to be tempered. So when I was announced to the pro bowl, I saw it as a sign that maybe I can come in and contribute to an nsfl team positively. The draft process didn’t give me too many ideas as to where I was going, but I knew that whoever would take me would take an active player who tries to make a good influence on a locker room.
And after 4 rounds of waiting, I officially became a Baltimore Hawk. I can’t say I was expecting it (they are pretty good at linebacker, and were one of the only teams not to contact me at all). However, I can’t really say I’m mad about being taken by a team that is as good as the Hawks. I’m ready to join the locker room and make an impact to compete for championships, even if it is not until S16.
So if this is it to Norfolk, thank you for a great introduction to sim leagues. And if not, I have a LB of the year award to win.
And lastly, thanks again to Baltimore. Can’t wait to start my nsfl with you guys.
