It's a cold Saturday, you're bored and you don't feel like sim testing, what do you do? Write a media article about something random!
Let's take a look at the trade here:
Receives
Jordan Von Matt
Gekyume Stokeley*
PHI S19 Round 1 Pick
Receives
Thudd Kassel
*PHI will cover Stokeley’s contract this season
If we look at this trade closely, you'll notice a couple of things,
1. the liberty appear to be trading for their future, as giving up Von Matt and Stokeley, two players who are either deep in regression, or just flat out retired. With the acquirement of Kassel, Philly appears to have someone who could possibly replace SLM as co-gm.
2. NOLA gets great depth for the team, with two experienced players, however, it's likely that Von Matt is gone after S19, and NOLA is in pursuit of a possible ultimus run. The first round pick seems to be a strange addition, as NOLA will likely gain the 2nd overall pick.
Trade Rating: 3/5
I give this a 3/5 for that first round pick, it's clear that the liberty are trying to tank due to a good majority of the team is in regression, overall, NOLA wins out on this trade.
