The Liberty kicked off the offseason with a bang by trading future HOF running back for one of the most dominate RB's in the game today Sam Torenson. This acquisition boosted their Offence and took some pressure off the regressing Adriani Falconi. Defensively they added some key parts during the draft in selecting Zach Hall 2nd Overall. Along side the rookie who has a big boi leg, Baxter Frost. These 3 additions to the team looked to make an impact immediatley and help push the Liberty back into the playoff race after a disappointing S17.
Week 1: @Colorado Yeti 26-27 Loss
The liberty went into Colorado to start the season and lost an absolute heart breaker. Falconi threw the ball 46 times only completing 23 of them. Even with 46 passing attempts Torenson still ran the ball 20 times racking up 82 yards and a TD. Torrenson was able to smash one home with a 1 yard plunge in the second. Varga took another one to the house with a 43 yard bomb from Falconi. Baxter Frost finished hitting all 4 field goal attempts and both Extra points. On the Defensive side of the ball, the reigning DRotY Julian McMorris picked up where he left off with an INT. Bot to be out done, Emoji also showed how much of a threat he is opposite side of McMorris. The Defense was led by Garnett and Stokeley in tackles. Unfortunately it wasnt able to hold off the Yeti as they couldn't finish and took an L week 1.
Week 2: vs Otters 7-31 Loss
After a heartbreak in week 2 the Liberty came back home to Philly to welcome the defending champions. This game wasnt even close as the Liberty didnt score until garbage time in the 4th quarter. The up side to this game was Falconi seemed to have found chemistry with Farley Hank as they connected 9 Times for 110 Yards and a TD. Defensively it was Stokeley leading the charge again with 10 tackles for a second straight week.
Week 3: vs Baltimore Hawks 31-26 Loss
New week same story. Falconi may have passed for 300+ yards and 4 TD's, but the 3 INT's became costly as the Hawks came away with the W by 5 points. Week 8: vs Colorado Yeti 30-9 Win
The Liberty look to avenge the week 1 heartbreaker in week 8 against the Yeti. And boy, did they ever. Right from the get go they marched the field which led to a Frost 32 yard FG. Week 9: @ Baltimore Hawks 27-23 Loss
This week kicked off with a blockbuster trade. The Liberty traded Stokeley, Von Matt and their 1st round pick for Rookie LB Thudd Kassel. Kassel would immediately be thrown into the lineup and with Von Matt now gone, Varga and Hank are Falconi's top targets. And with that, Varga finished the game with 118 yards on 5 catches and a TD. Hank also had an electric game with 129 Yards on 8 catches. Kassel finished his Liberty debut with 6 tackles. It was another tough Loss for the Liberty in a disappointing season.

Emoji also had a Pick while McMorris recorded his first career Pick Six which was a good way to end a disappointing season for him.
Season Review: it was definitely disappointing season for the Liberty even though they have admitted they are rebuilding you would like to think they would've done a little better than this. Varga and Hank both proved to be top recievers in this league and with Falconi throwing them the ball for the time being they will continue to be one of the best Duos in the league. Torrenson is one of the best all around backs in the league and he is here for a while. Defensively the pieces are there. Zach Hall and Thudd Kassel are 2 great rookie players who are going to only get better. D'Attoria V had a potential DPotY season. He was everywhere on the field and contributed every way he could. Emoji is shutdown corner. McMorris showed a lot of promise last season however this year was a little disappointing. Next season is his contract year so expect him to try and recreate his rookie year campaign. This Philly Team is young. Very Young. Given 1-2 more years and this team will be the top of the league and will once again look to compete for an Ultimus.
