After a 10 year career, The Philadelphia quarterback Adriana Falconi has called it a career.
The Star quarterback made her debut in season 11 for the Liberty a year after they had a 0-14 season. In her debut she went 18/36 with 146 yards 1 touchdown and 1 interception in a 29-17 loss to New Orleans. Little did the Liberty know is that they found their franchise quarterback who would destroy multiple team records and lead them to multiple playoff appearances and 2 Ultimus games.
Falconi's rookie season ended with 291/527 2977 yards 17 touchdowns and 19 interceptions in 14 games.
In her final season, Falconi went 228/405 2,699 yards 13 touchdowns and 7 interceptions in 13 games showing that she still had her touch even in the twilight of her career.
Falconi will retire as the Philly record holder for Pass Attempts (4th in league history), Completions (4th in league history), Interceptions (3rd in league history), Passing Yards (5th in league history), and Passing Touchdowns (4th in league history).
Falconi was no slouch in the playoffs either as she holds every team record for passing in the playoffs including the league Interception record in the playoffs.
Falconi's final career statline:
2457/4334, 29,640 Yards, 206 Touchdowns, 118 Interceptions, 122 Games Played, 56.7 Completion Percentage, and 243 Yards per Game
148 Rushes, 613 Yards, 3 Touchdowns, and 4.1 Yards per Carry
Falconi's final playoff statline:
191/319, 2,462 Yards, 16 Touchdowns, 14 Interceptions, and 59.9 Completion Percentage
14 Rushes, 67 Yards, and 4.8 Yards per Carry
Falconi did set one record in season 15 that may never be touched again.
Week 2, in New Orleans. The Liberty are tied 7-7 in the 2nd quarter. The Liberty get pinned back to their own 16 following a Second Line punt. On first down, Falconi takes a designed run to the right and follows her blockers for an easy first and continues to ride that blocking all the way to the endzone for a quarterback record 84 Yard Touchdown. This touchdown still stand as the 3rd longest run in NSFL history.
With Falconi ending her career after spending 10 strong seasons, all with the Liberty, she will go down as one of the greatest quarterbacks in NSFL history and Philadelphia History. Falconi will be the first member of Philly's inaugural HoF class joining others that will be named at a later date. The Liberty will also retire the number 3.
Philadelphia would like to congratulate Falconi for her accomplishments and thank her for everything she has done for the Liberty and the city of Philadelphia.
From the players, management, and the fans,
