Cal Lidous was born and raised just south of Boise Idaho to a teacher and a preacher. From a young age, Cal had a love interest with sports of all kinds, but especially football and baseball. Indeed, as he got older he played both sports in tandem. It started with catch with his dad in the back yard, which turned into little league and flag football. Even at a young age, he showed a natural flair for the sports that outshone those around him.
This continued through to high school where he had to make a choice between his two loves. But to him, it was no choice at all. Cal became the team's star quarterback and led the team to three state championships, and in the process catching the eyes of college scouts across the country.
Though he received offers from the top football programs, Cal always intended to stay near home and chose to attend Boise State University to become the local grown hero. And he wouldn't disappoint. After leading his team to three bowl games and a combined 35-4 record in his first three seasons at BSU, the Broncos would get their first ever chance to play in a BCS Championship game. And Cal Lidous did not disappoint.
Shining like a diamond, Cal led Boise State to a victory over Alabama and a final score of 38-34, thus winning their first ever BCS championship. Cal as well capped off his stunning collegiate career with the winning of the Heisman trophy.
The quarterback left Boise State and his past victories behind and has now come to test himself against the best. The DSFL draft, and his next chapter, awaits.
