*This article was made using the Unassigned Player Updates page. If there is no update thread for a player or if it was filled out extremely incorrectly the player is not included.
To make this list I took into account total TPE, activity in NSFL media and forums, making a Wiki, and how they have distributed their TPE into their attributes. Since I myself created a safety, I tried to remain as unbiased as possible, however, people I see active on discord while I’m on discord may have earned a slight edge.
There are 23 S22 safeties with properly (or close to properly) filled out update threads. Here’s how I broke them down.
Tier 1:
1. Sebastian Vettel (Center Fielder) - Florida
- Total TPE: 77 (some ungraded)
- Media Articles: 3 (1 gfx)
- Posts per day: 1.9
- Wiki: none
- Best attributes: Speed (71), Endurance (70), Agility (70)
Vettel has made a strong impression with two articles, and a nice gfx and regular activity on discord. If he keeps this up, he will be a very safe early round pick for any team needing a safety. Creating a wiki should be #1 priority for Vettel, gaining 10 more easy TPE.
2. Johnny Hellzapoppin (Center Fielder) - Notre Dame
- Total TPE: 70
- Media Articles: 3 (2 gfx)
- Posts per day: 2.4
- Wiki: approved
- Best attributes: Speed (70), Endurance (70), Agility (70)
Johnny burst on the scene with a visually striking gfx, the “So you want to get drafted” article, and an animated DSFL gfx. This level of media output should allow him to max out TPE every season and be a major contributor in the league.
3. Shawn Dawkins (Center Fielder) - University of Chicago
- Total TPE: 69
- Media Articles: 1 (GFX)
- Posts per day: 1.1
- Wiki: approved
- Best attributes: Speed (81), Endurance (70), Agility (70)
Dawkins has the best speed of the S22 safety class. He has already contributed a solid gfx submission. Completing his wiki and being active on discord has made him stand out as one of the best options for an early round safety pick.
4. Buck Thornton (Run Stopper) - Central Washington University
- Total TPE: 74
- Media Articles: 2
- Posts per day: 1.9
- Wiki: approved
- Best attributes: Speed (74), Agility (70), Endurance (60)
Thornton is the only non-center fielder ranked in the top 5. He is already projecting well in mock drafts and demonstrating his activism in media and on discord.
5. Jimmy Cooks (Center Fielder) - Stanford
- Total TPE: 83.5 (some ungraded)
- Media Articles: 1
- Posts per day: 1.2
- Wiki: approved
- Best attributes: Speed (77), Agility (72), Endurance (71)
Cooks’ high-end speed stands out in this class of safeties, and he is already showing potential to be a top TPE earner.
Tier 2:
6. Quinn Hughes (Playmaker) - Arizona
- Total TPE: 65
- Media Articles: 1 (gfx)
- Posts per day: 1.7
- Wiki: approved
- Best attributes: Speed (70), Agility (70), Endurance (70)
Hughes has already completed his wiki and has submitted a solid gfx. Staying caught up with his TPE should make Hughes a solid mid-round draft pick.
7. Wesley Eriksen (Center Fielder) - University of Arkansas
- Total TPE: 57
- Media Articles: 1
- Posts per day: 1.4
- Wiki: pending review
- Best attributes: Speed (76), Endurance (70), Agility (70)
Despite the lower TPE than most of his counterparts, Erikson has submitted an article and a wiki. He also has above average speed that will help him make an impact in the DSFL.
8. Eric Barlow (Center Fielder) - Buffalo
- Total TPE: 59
- Media Articles: 1
- Posts per day: 1.3
- Wiki: pending review
- Best attributes: Speed (72), Endurance (72), Agility (70)
Barlow has made a solid effort to show his commitment to the NSFL. If given a push in the right direction, he could definitely make an impact on a DSFL team.
9. Matt "Son of Havoc" Cross (Playmaker) - Arizona State University
- Total TPE: 57
- Media Articles: 2 (1 presser)
- Posts per day: 1.7
- Wiki: none
- Best attributes: Speed (70), Agility (70), Endurance (65)
The “Son of Havoc” has been fairly involved getting media in and completing point tasks. The Sun Devil grad will need to do more in order to live up to his nickname.
Tier 3:
10. Hamish MacAndrew (Playmaker) University of Glasgow
Total TPE: 64
Media Articles: 0
Posts per day: 1.1
Wiki: pending review
Best attributes: Speed (70), Endurance (70), Agility (70)
Nothing much stands out about MacAndrew. The Scot has solid attributes across the board, but has not taken advantage of the money making opportunities required to attain the highest levels of TPE.
11. Abbas Muhammad (Center Fielder) - Duke University
- Total TPE: 59
- Media Articles: 0
- Posts per day: 0.7
- Wiki: pending review (no photo)
- Best attributes: Speed (80), Endurance (70), Agility (70)
Muhammad’s elite speed will help him be an immediate factor in the DSFL. Adding a photo to his wiki and getting it approved will help him rise in the ranks of this deep safety class.
12. Hengwei Luo (Center Fielder) - Florida Atlantic
- Total TPE: 57
- Media Articles: 0
- Posts per day: 0.8
- Wiki: pending review

- Total TPE: 57
- Media Articles: 0

- Total TPE: 59
- Media Articles: 0
- Posts per day: 0.8
- Wiki: none
