Maybe one of the top DE DSFL-Draft Prospects Sandro Ryeu is now at the Podium when a man in a grey suit arrives. The man leans forward to speak into the microphone: 'The next rookie: Sandro Ryeu. Please don't be shy to ask questions. He will try to answer all of your questions and introduce himself a bit for everyone in this room and therefore also in the league. ' He nods towards Ryeu who is looking pretty nervous circling his fingers on the table.
Ryeu: Hello everyone, I am Sandro Ryeu, defensive end out of Heidelberg uni. I'm honored to be able to be here and of course to answer all of your questions.
Ryeu: Thank you for the question @Memento Mori. I talked quite a bit to a couple of GMs this offseason. There are very intriguing opportunities which I am very grateful for.
The Coyotes were the first team to talk to me and I was very interested especially since the GMs seemed to be nice. I say that because the draft is over and I really don't think I get in trouble telling you this or at least I hope so. [The Room laughs]
I liked the fact of playing for a team with quite a bit of prestige to its name and try to bring them back into the win column after their 5-9 finish in the last year. But let's face it: I think I would only benefit KC if I'd switch to DT and I'm not doing that.
I really enjoyed chatting with both of the Tijuana GMs but to be honest it was more like a private chat. Jay helped me with a few issues I had with the organization and Fleshbag invited me to the rookie discord. These guys are very cool. I think that it's a good locker room they have there and they might have a need for an edge rusher. So yeah I would definitely be down to play there.
And then there are the two expansion teams. Maybe my favorite option. The birddogs have the first pick and let's face it: this is likely going to be a QB. But that's what's really intriguing to me. I would love to have the opportunity to become a cornerstone of a team like this. Plus Gucci, the GM is the guy you want to have as a GM. You feel like you can talk to him about a lot of stuff and he's offering a whole lot of help to both benefit you and the team.
No definitely not. I just want to see snaps and be able to leave an impression on the field. That's all I really care about. I'm down to play in every team with a need.
Ryeu: Since I saw you at the combine earlier and you are still wearing the @CalvinGolladay Wisconsin jersey I am going to go ahead and say: Calvin Golladay. He's a well-balanced lineman with a lot of potentials.
I also have my history, as a couple of you might know, with Sylvester Berlin in the Europe Bowl. I think I have fewer problems with specialized run blockers who have a not that polished pass pro game but I'll get there. People tell me I am unusually quick for a DE. My strengths are in the speed rushing sector I think but I am also able to make some tackles outside of the box.
I'm excited to play against Gabe Nickson because of his natural ability to take the right angles. Since that's a specialty I share that's gonna be a fun matchup. I hope though it's not going to be that fun for him.
Let's just see if these matchups will be in the stadium or on the training field with the same logos on the chest. Anyway, I am looking forward to them.
