Hello, this is Xavier Yonggarius from the FSPN. I'm here at the site of season 21 DSFL prospect draft. Today, We'll be meeting a prospect who went through a most interesting journey to be here today. Please welcome William Lim, wide receiver from South Korea and a proud Dallas Birddog!
Xavier: Well, hello william, congratulations on being drafted!
William: Thanks, Xavier. I'm really honoured to be here. Being drafted, having interviews with media... many of my dreams came true today. Today was one of the best days of my live
Xavier: I can imagine. And speaking of today, how did your feelings changed throughout the day? What was going through your minds as the draft progressed?
William: well, frankly speaking, I was terrified until I got drafted. You see, I have some bad memories about drafts, being undrafted in a baseball draft out of high school and all. So here I was, siiting there nervous and scared even before the draft, and then wide receivers started to collectively slide down as every teams went for safties and corners. That made me even more nervous. I heard from some analysis before the draft that all of the teams except the Buccaniers needed wide receivers, so I reckoned that top tier receivers will fly off the boards in round 1 or 2. Obviously that didn't happen, and I remained nervous until the latter half of round 4, when receivers were finally starting to be taken. I was projected to be third to fifth wide receiver off the board, so I needed guys above me to be taken first to hear my name called. And then the Birddogs called my name at pick 46.
Xavier: What did you think of when you heard your name?
William: There were so many things going through my head at that moment. For one, I was so relieved that I had a team. And I was also very thankful to the Dallas Birdfogs organization for trusting me to become their wide receiver of future. Also, I promised myself to be a better player and do the Birddogs proud that moment.
Xavier: What are your thougths on being drafted by the Dallas Birddogs? Were they the team you wanted to go, or do you had another team in mind?
William: Birddog for life, man! The Birddogs were exactly I was hoping to land. They were the team that expressed interest in me the most, and they, especially the GMs, helped me out immensely while I was adapting to play pro football. The GM and I even had several private meetings, and he was very friendly and helpful towards me. So I hoped to end up here with the Birddogs before the draft. And well... it seems like that wish came true.
Xavier: Did you meet your new teammates?(william nods) how were they? And also, how did the culture seemed like in the Birddogs locker room?
William: I met a lot of good guys when I met with the team. It was very easy to get along with everyone and I made some friends like Big Edd(we call him 'snackes' by the way) and Tristan Hex. And for the culture, everyone wanted to win. Our locker room has strong leadership of the famous Gimmy Jarropolo, who came to our team via trade, and me and my teammtes are all pumped up and ready to give Gimmy the proper honor of the ultimini that he deserves.
Xavier: What's your plans from now on?
William: For the immediate future, I think I'll be focussing on my speed. My GM told me today that while my hands were good, I need to improve my speed and endurance. So it seems like I'm in for a lot of running for the immediate future. For the long term though, my focus is on making the NSFL. That's going to take a lot of time and effort, but I think I will be able to make it to the big leagues if I keep on working hard. Making the DSFL isn't an end, you know. It's a start for a whole new journey.
Xavier: I certainly hope to see you in the NSFL in the future. Thank you for joining us today William.
William: Thanks. It was a pleasure to be with you guys tonight.
