(to graders: 1.5 media bonus pretty please this is completely draft related, pseudo draft review from user/player perspective/bias - to others: don't feel offended it's not even semi-serious article)
It was long-awaited for recreate to be finally drafted to a team, a first time in DSFL for me personally, yet as the names were coming down the list the disappointed mounted, since despite mocked around late first-round/early 2nd he ended up being picked far down the list as 22nd player in incredibly stacked draft.
So let's start putting up a vengence list of players to prove that Stanisław will be a better player than all of them, GMs that didn't take their chance with teams blacklisted for the foreseeable future.
While at it kudos to bex for rather decent pronunciation of my player's name, though it was a shame that no one even recognized me, welp time flies by.
Let's start with GMs, that made this grave mistake and by association, the teams, with one extra, super special appearance that nobody knew me could have expected.
First, we have a new duo of DeadlyPlayer & Modern_Duke leading London Royals. They had several opportunities to take my player, namely 2nd, 9th, and 18th picks. While I understand being hesitant about 2nd OA (which is another debate why in QB heavy draft everyone rushed to draft one?, hopefully, NSFL teams will be smarter than that) the 9th OA especially was a surprise to me since they took subpar Linebacker here, more about that later. 18th didn't make sense to double on the same position so they invested in Cornerback, whatever.
Next up on my list is a long-standing NSFL franchise of Portland Pythons now led by unknown to me AirCrou & KanakoTheSquirrel. They pass of Koniecpolski even more with 4 wasted picks, all on secondary with 3, 11, 12 & 19 - especially drafting fellow prominent recreate so far up and then ignoring me will be their grievous mistake.
I never even like this branding and now this team smells with FleshBagSoup & Jay_Doctor passing with their only high pick of 4 drafting one more QB like you are going to have so many of them stuck in DSFL for foreseeable future that you could have waited until late 10th rounders to pick up some guy that can just throw the ball, shame on you.
And now the personal betrayal part - the team I was GM at one point (well, it wasn't good, it wasn't terrible to summarize that tenure with that) now led by ackets28 & Buttersqauch101 - they had 4 quality picks before 22 with 5th, 13th, 20th, and 21st selection, but opted out for approach ignoring linebackers. I guess I should have been more vocal than saying hi after being picked up on waivers last season.
In my old days this team was a bot team and clearly Norfolk Seawolves should have stayed that way since uniped & ScorpXCracker haven't made right decision with their 6th, 10th & 14th selection selecting all other defensive players, instead of a stud that can make a difference from day one (and likely bolt on the first opportunity to play in the NSFL).
Are those buccaneers or Cthulhu spawn that has more bones visible? Clearly they should have spent less time rebranding the team tough and more time scouting as they made two defensive picks at 5th and 15th without making the right choice each time. I really hoped for more from scorycory & Frostbite.
Dewalt27 & CLG Rampage - I know the Formula 1 Season 2 just dropped on Netflix, but it's no reason to use one of your high picks at 17th based on a players name, instead of a franchise cornerstone like Koniecpolski that fought in Wars against infidels Ottomans and heathen Swedes.
Did you Kyle & gucci thought you were safe just because you drafted me? How about explaining why 1st & 15th were used on other players? Ok, actually that's smart since you could have picked me at 22nd anyway, but still
.
(Dis)honorable mention as always due to connection with my recreate - it's such an old story with two years passed, but I still love bringing this up, when you traded player out of the blue without giving him a heads up. Still, I like how NOLA was able to stop you from getting to Ultimus for at least 4 seasons back in the day so at least it worked out in the end.
Okay so now we went through all the teams, I kind of tried to remind myself how far/low I was drafted in other sim leagues and this honestly seems like my lowest ever lol, even my busts in EFL went higher, of course, the strength of the class play a part, and I gather it will motivate me in the end, just to summarize: PBE S3 5th OA, NSFL S7 Draft 3rd OA, SMJHL S40 8th OA, SHL S41 3rd OA, NSHL S1 3rd OA, SBA ~S39 (I think) 3rd OA, GOMHL S22 5th OA, EFL S13 9th & 18th, VHL ~S64 9th OA and something else probably too, too many to keep proper track of.
![[Image: 0tirirP.png]](https://imgur.com/0tirirP.png)
Okay, so now we are done with the teams, let's focus on players that were taken ahead of me, for my convenience, I'll try to order them by groups, let's start with:
Smh my head - 3 QB that went far too high:
(S22) - QB Monterey Jack, (S22) - QB Colby Jack, (S22) - QB Ben Slothlisberger
Like I said earlier, only a few teams needed QB that much and with how stacked NSFL teams are (and ease of position change) I'm quite surprised DSFL teams went so hard investing 3 of 4 first teams into one (and none afterwards, at least until 48, since I didn't bother looking further down the line, but that's like 7th round already).
Not only that, but they are behind TPE wise, some other player, that may or may have not been complaining this whole article. I guess being GM, having a league job plays a part here, especially since QBs are likely stuck down for several seasons.
The other prominent recreate -
(S22) - CB Tyler Oles Jr. I guess there is this Python connection, but he is behind TPE wise (I know, like that matter with this potato sim) and CB are as likely to go quickly up to NSFL as is LB, at least according to what other said to me. I'm looking this to be rivalry to be the best recreate of old guard (so let's call it arbitrarily S7 or younger) in the S22 class and compete for this title until NSFL regression eats us alive (which will happen quicker than my 1st SHL player starts really feel regression).
(S22) - White Goodman - RB - I gather this was auto GM drafted pick, we haven't had much interaction other than I was apparently hard man to find, despite being in almost every league and ton of discord, hmm, anyway looking to play together while in DSFL
New guys? at least I think so, I haven't really paid attention to this league since like
(S22) - S12 - DT Phat Boi - yes he does have TPE lead, is making article/gfx/podcasts and is probably super active on nsfl related discords I don't bother checking, but can we focus on how he got that TPE lead? It's all about ageism again, since Rookie Tasks aren't available to recreates and award damn TPE, like in no other league, if you were copying PBE, you could have at least do it smartly instead of giving unfair advantage, it wouldn't really surprise me if users with small bank accounts didn't just create new accounts to get bonus of those tasks instead of being forced to be behind and not benefit from that, in league that not so long ago relied so heavily on recreates it's not a smart move (and sadly you can see already how many of people of big new wave drafts quickly disappear).
(S22) - Johnny Hellzapoppin - S - one more completely new player, but I can't even hate this pick, would love to have someone on a team with graphic skills, especially the animated DSFL logo is fantastic to work.
(S22) - Buck Thornton - S - back to back safeties, one more very active player on media front - it's kind of interesting point about positional popularity that I'll focus on later.
(S22) - Magnus Valdyr - S - never enough safeties you say? Now we have another with league job and even some articles on top of that.
Honestly, I'm more and more baffled about my flop through the draft, I mean those are all decent users and picks, but isn't it safer to pick proven recreate with a bank and history of max earning, instead of rather new folks with a couple of media articles, maybe just DSFL is a bit different here, since optimal scenario for the team is to get them to cap and go IA afterward and I wouldn't count on that with me lol.
(S22) - Alexander Hamilton II - CB - one more good secondary prospect wiht couple articles, I feel like I'm just repeating myself for last 4 or 5 picks at this point, did GMs share scouring lists or were into panick mode that some positions might just ran out?
(S22) - Zamir Kehla – CB - do you have more more of those? He went into quantity aspect of articles, which is nice, but not overly efficient with NSFL media payscale. Had some good suggestions that we are really need to expand to 12 teams if we stay at above 200+ players activity checks two weeks from now. Didn't exactly got his wish, as he put pythons in tier 2 as his recommend destination, just 6th overall.
(S22) - Eddie Jeeta - WR - finally some offensive weapon, did a graphic and a mock draft, where he put me at 9th, reasonable at the time, but sadly didn't come to fruition at all.
(S22) - Matt "Son of Havoc" Cross - S - and we are back to your run of the mill secondary players, I liked his QB analysis, where it was shown there are more than 3 QBs that really don't are so different in level of play, which makes me again question top 4 order of the draft.
(S22) - Troen Egghands - DE - and finally our sole Defensive End in this article, who made some really nice, quite unique media like trying to quantify forum activity, best of ultimus week and projecting league growth.
(S22) - Sebastian Vettel - S - we didn't have safety pick for long now, eh? one more usual hopeful 1st gen sim league player with plenty of activity in media, graphics etc.
(S22) - Cadillac Harris - CB - so one more secondary, that really did his job scouting this class with 16 detailed reports about players, focusing on his contemporaries.
(S22) - Shawn Dawkins - S - this is going to be nightmare if someone is worried about repeating themselves when writing draft review, but since I just want the dollar here we have another safety from new generation of users that made plenty of graphics submissions.
(S22) - Chester Sweets - CB - oh well, here we go again, a ton articles, mixed in with some podcast too.
(S22) - Kevin Fakon - RB - finally the last player that was drafted ahead of me with 21st OA by KCC, similarly to other shown some activity with media and all other stuff.
The other nonprominent recreates:
(S22) - Thubba Bumper - CB - like what, 5th OA for a guy that had failed WR and now made CB with wrong archetype and semi earnings, I guess Norfolk really for this user profile picture and player persona.
How dare you? The one better(?), well, at least drafted higher Linebacker -(S22) - Derred de Ville - LB
And now prime material for positional rivarlry, he has been highly active with media, even detailing potential linebackers, which surprise, surprise had Koniecpolski ahead of him in the same S class tier. Speed rusher arch vs Stanislaw Balanced (for now, I'll likely change it for something with better max caps with more TPE) will be interesting to watch whole season long as they will lead expansion team defences and should rack up stats rather easily. And oh damn, I just seen his graphics trading card shop and feel a sudden urge to order one too, can't stay even mad he was drafted so high.
Overall this LB class looking much better now, than in a week when I created, when we had just me, still maybe I'll switch to WR if that gives me a quicker pathway to the NSFL.
So overall we had following positions drafted ahead of LB Stanisław Koniecpolski:
3 QB - 1st, 2nd, 4th
6 CB - 3, 6, 11, 12, 18 & 20
2 DT - 5, 10
5 S - 7, 8, 14 & 17
1 LB - 9
1 WR - 13
1 DE - 15
2 RB - 16, 21
Damn, the secondary was a hot commodity, I hope CB won't get discouraged due to randomness of the position and kind of counterintuitive TPE relation to the stats - there is no guarantee anywhere, but especially with this sim and in this league if you are too good you just won't rack up stats. I already talked about QBs, it's kind of weird that WR/LB wasn't more popular since you need good depth at those positions a lot too.
It's quite another experience being part of such a big class, since usually while I was drafted higher in the order, the rest of the class was a bit lackluster, like S7 class here was ~1/8th of this one in size. I'm really not mad about it or sad, it was just easier to write such a lengthy article a bit in character, so it kind of turned out okay for my NSFL prospects with adding another media that should bankroll future max equipment and training purchases. Can't say I 100% understand the tactic of drafting 1st gens as a priority, but maybe it's good to encourage new users more than veterans that likely won't mind being drafted further down the line in the development league and are that much more likely to go up on first opportunity to the NSFL. I've got to say it was also the first real opportunity to see how much league has changed, and ever since I was just semi-active in terms of being around (still maxed out Fyodo to keep him going for almost record number of games) to see how much the league changed, I barely recognize any players in this draft, same with GMs, hope I haven't missed any important rule changes either.
That's it from me, once again, sorry if I was being too harsh, looking forward to some rivalries to develop and making S22 class the best class this league ever had! Let's get it rolling and go Dallas Birddogs!

Also writing some additional thoughts, since apparently it's not enough to check with forum in-built checker and worcounter.com to get to that damn 2500 words.
It will be about a couple first days in the birddogs uniform that is really active and enjoyable place to spent time after the dsfl draft. It's booming with activity and useful information and I'm really happy that dsfl draft, to keep the topic related to the draft, put me there to spend my probably only single year down in dsfl. We have channells dedicated to help people, whether it's about overall league stuff, builds or fantasy, I'm quite happy to see at least some famillar faces among rather overwhelming presence of new wave of players.
