Welcome to the second edition of Draft Rankings. I am not going to compare anyone to a Taylor Swift song because people did not seem to care. I hope everyone enjoys the read, please leave feedback, I would love to see what you think.
How about we do another positional group? Defensive Line.
#1 Phat Boy
Username: @[BadLck]
DSFL Team: Kansas City Coyotes
Current TPE: 219
Strength: Strength
Weakness: Tackling
Analysis: For a team needing a defensive line, they are looking at none other than Phat Boy who will be sitting there waiting to be picked. I think he has a really nice build with 85 strength and 79 speed. I definitely think that maxing out those and then working on some agility with some tackling, and this guy will be capped out quickly. I see him as an extremely effective player pretty much right from the get-go on any team that he gets drafted to. I would be surprised if he ends up spending another year down in the DSFL. I see him as a big time NSFL player. I think he will end up being the first defensive lineman off the board.
#2 Troen Egghands
Username: @[Troen]
DSFL Team: Myrtle Beach Buccaneers
Current TPE: 184
Strength: Speed/Strength
Weakness: Agility
Analysis: Following right behind Boy is none other than Egghands. It definitely depends if you are looking for a tackle like Boi or an end like Egghands which what you prefer, but I think the build for Egghands is good. I think he should focus on a lot more speed next to be better there, but he has a really good build to start. His 80 speed and 80 strength is ideal to what you need from a guy like that. Egghands has also added a bunch to tackling to get some tackle for loss. He needs to work on Agility in a bit as that should have an impact on Tackles for loss as well.
#3 Magnus Rikiya
Username: @[Tesla]
DSFL Team: Norfolk Seawolves
Current TPE: 177
Strength: Strength
Weakness: Speed
Analysis: With the third best player, I went with Magnus Rikiya over Clemente, just because of the build. I just think when you want a guy who is playing Defensive Tackle, you want a strong boy, first and foremost. That should be the most important thing that you add, so that is why I have Rikiya over Clemente. Clemente went more balanced while I like what MR has done so far. He has 84 strength and also 70 speed. He did not add too much to tackling which Clemente had, so you could really flip flop 3 and 4, but I prefer this build that he has right now.
#4 Octavio Clemente
Username: @[Billybolo53]
DSFL Team: Myrtle Beach Buccaneers
Current TPE: 180
Strength: Strength
Weakness: Agility
Analysis: The fourth pick is going to be Clemente. I did talk about him a little above, but I just prefered the strength route and focusing there before going any other place. I think speed is obviously good, but strength first. I thin, as I mentioned, these could go back and forth. I do like the fact Clemente added to tackling as he has shown some ability to know the impact of that. I think it's a good idea, but we will see how this one ends.
#5 Deshun Jones
Username: @[Forty Jordy]
DSFL Team: Dallas Birddogs
Current TPE: 177
Strength: Strength
Weakness: Agility
Analysis: I really lie Deshun Jones. I think he is going to be an absolute steal, but, I put him at the 5th spot, but he really could go as high as 2 on my list. This guy did the 84 strength, 75 speed which is really nice, and tackling at 50. I think that the agility was a little lower than I wanted. I really almost decided to put him 4th or 3rd, but I like the other guys complementary build. It's really tough as he could be the second or third person off the board. I wouldn't be even surprised if that happened.
#6 Slinky Claxton
Username: @[Shiznit19]
DSFL Team: Portland Pythons
Current TPE: 151
Strength: Strength
Weakness: Tackling
Analysis: Probably the first surprise on my list is going to be skipping down to Slinky Claxton with the #6 best defensive lineman in the draft. I really like his focus on speed and strength compared to the couple people above him. I just think he has the right idea to focus on one or two attributes and just go ham on that. In a position such as defensive line, I think you can afford to do that. I think it benefits to do that, so I actually valued him higher than someone with 20 TPE more for that reason.
#7 Sandro Ryeu
Username: @[s4ndr0p]
DSFL Team: London Royals
Current TPE: 174
Strength: Speed
Weakness: Strength
Analysis: I think Ryeu spent some more time balancing himself to adding some agility and some strength that it may benefit him in the long run, but I think that Claxton and company is going to be a little more effective right away by adding everything to one area. If I am Ryeu, I am maxing out speed and then going strength. I think that this would be effective use of TPE to make the most impact to his NSFL team right away. For that reason, he drops to 7, but with the TPE allocated differently, he could obviously be much higher.
#8 Big Edd
Username: @[Big Edd]
DSFL Team: Dallas Birddogs
Current TPE: 154
Strength: Speed
Weakness: Agility
Analysis: Here is a guy that I really like from my time in Dallas, but it's a guy that I like what he is thinking, but we need to get strength to 80. Speed is great, strength is going to be the best option from here. I really like this guy as a prospect, so I feel like #8 is a little low when the value could be so much better. If you can get him as the 8th guy taken, that is a hell of a value. I think he has the staying power, just some things to work on with his build.
#9 Mo "Mamba" Magic
Username: @[thevoicelesscreator]
DSFL Team: Minnesota Grey Ducks
Current TPE: 172
Strength: Balance
Weakness: Nothing great
Analysis: When I talked earlier about having nothing really great, this is what you get. You get someone who is really good across the board, but in a position like Defensive Line, you are better off getting better quicker in one area. That is really what I would expect from a defensive lineman. So, that is why he falls to #9. I feel like it's unfair considering his TPE, but I think as he grows and gets better, he could easily climb the list.
#10 James Cho
Username: @[cho1325]
DSFL Team: Dallas Bird Dogs
Current TPE: 148
Strength: Speed
Weakness: Strength
Analysis: Finally, with the 10th best pick, I went with Cho who has a good idea of adding his TPE. Go speed fella, you will do just fine.
