[div align=\\\"center\\\"]In this article that is not a cynical easy cash grab I'll be talking about last year's Norfolk players who've been recently drafted by NSFL teams. This was one of the best generations of Seawolves in history, so regardless rather they got called up or sent down you should expect to hear these names making plays for seasons to come.
Rd. 1 pick 6 - Thubba Bumper, CB / Rd. 2 pick 14 - Colorado Yeti
Bauer is a well known personality in the Norfolk locker room and the league at large and is rumored to have ties to HO in some way. He'll remain in Norfolk another season and is assured to rock some little boats with the waves he makes. Let him return kicks Scorp, you know he's good for it.
Rd. 2 pick 2 - Magnus Rikiya, DT / Rd. 1 pick 2 - New Orleans Second Line
Tesla is a dear friend of mine, which almost makes it hard to say too much. She'll slot into NOLA's team immediately and assuredly have an impact. Behind the scenes Tesla is also a hard working and intelligent person who'll continue to benefit Norfolk through war room and locker room contributions, and presumably she'll have a similar effect in NOLA's rooms. She's also rich af.
Rd. 2 pick 6 - Matt Cross, S / Rd. 1 pick 3 - Philadelphia Liberty
J0EB is another close friend of mine. He's clever and energetic in the locker room and is an obvious future HoFer if he keeps his current pace. He's also going to be #1 top poster in every locker room he's in before long because the kid's posting work rate is absurd. Cross is a skilled free safety who specializes in reading routes and snagging picks; he eliminates opportunity deep in the middle of the field. He'll play the same role for the Liberty this season alongside fellow safety Wesley Eriksen, who we'll get to shortly.
Rd. 4 pick 6 - Kevin Koh, WR / Rd. 7 pick 10 - Orange County Otters
Coterminity seems like a great guy who has dropped off harshly in activity for reasons I refuse to speculate about. I hope he comes back and has a great career, and if he does, he's been picked up by a team that seems to develop excellent wide outs. But for now, he'll spend at least another season in Norfolk and we'll see what happens.
Rd. 5 pick 6 - Wesley Eriksen, S / Rd. 2 pick 6 - Philadelphia Liberty
Hi it me. Eriksen has a relatively quiet DSFL season (because he had to play alongside Matt Cross who stole all his stats (and had to share some time with a fellow who went IA, but I'm not bitter about it or anything who said that I never said that)). He was drafted alongside Matt Cross and the Liberty seem to plan on developing them together to be their first choice safeties for the seeable future. Eriksen generally plays as a strong safety in a nickel set and specializes in getting forward with blitzes and doing LB-esque duties. He's bulked up a lot in the offseason, so expect him to go shoulder to shoulder with tight ends this year.
Rd. 7 pick 6 - Luke Skywalker, QB /Rd. 6 pick 1 - Honolulu Hahalua
Performance of the Year winner, Luke Skywalker is a great player and person. He doesn't spend his life on discord like some of us, so he's probably a pretty cool guy with an actual life too. He was always going to drop lower than some due to being a QB but Honolulu is an excellent landing destination since they'll need a new QB in a few season when Skywalker is starting to get real good. For now he'll keep slinging the ball in Norfolk while sharing time with Suleiman Ramza.
Rd. 8 pick 6 - Sam Sidekick, KP / Rd. 8 pick 6 - Chicago Butchers
Okay a few things. 1. Evok is a cool person who I've enjoyed talking to in the norfolk lr and I think Chicago is a great place for them since they should basically walk into a starting position. Sidekick also took home the kicker and punter of the year awards, continuing a tradition of kicking excellence in Norfolk. 2. I think it's fun they were picked at the same position in both drafts. Fitting considering their kicking is extremely consistent as well. And I know it's not the same OA, don't @ me nerds. 3. The whole season their name on discord was "Bauer's Sidekick" and I literally never realized it was a pun on the name Sam Sidekick until right now. Am I an idiot? Stay tuned to find out.
Rd. 9 pick 6 - Jack Banks, LB / Rd. 5 pick 7 - Honolulu Hahalua
Jack Banks is a fantastic player and guy to have around. Just seems like a really genuine relaxed fellow who's energetic about talking to people. Not afraid to put himself out there and ask questions, just a great guy to have in your locker room. Honolulu is going to want to try to build a culture before a winning team and guys like TheRocheLimit are exactly who you want doing that. Banks could use a little more time in the oven however, and Norfolk is going to be extremely relieved to retain a quick and strong Linebacker after their defense got depleted by call ups.
Rd. 10 pick 6 - Spike Suzuki, LB / Rd. 6 pick 3 - Philadephia Liberty
Spike is another guy I love. Love that his render and name are from Cowboy Bebop, love that he's on my new team as well, love his attitude in the locker room. We were super fortunate in Norfolk to have both of these guys last season, unfortunately for them Philadelphia recognizes talent when they see it and gave him the immediate call up. I think it's kind of interesting these two guys were drafted in pretty parallel spots, they're two peas in a pod and teams are mean to split them up or whatever. He's a very fast linebacker who's skilled in coverage since he can track receivers coming across the middle easier than larger, slower LBs. He has some difficulty getting around those big corn-fed O-linemen, but he'll certainly up his game in that area, especially with top flight experience.
Rd. 11 pick 6 - Godrick Fallstrum, DT / Rd. 10 pick 9 - Baltimore Hawks
I've not seen this guy in a long time, so I don't have much to say. I think this is going to become a more common motif around this point, so moving on.
Rd. 14 pick 6 - Loin Stake, DE / Rd. 13 pick 10 - Orange County Otters
Man I love this guy's name, please come back Loin, you have so much potential with that name.
Rd. 15 pick 6 - Suleiman Ramza, QB / Rd. 8 pick 10 - Philadephia Liberty
One of the highest risers from DSFL draft to NSFL Draft. Blasoon is a friend of mine who I'm thrilled to have on the Liberty with me. He's a mobile QB and I think that versatility between him and Skywalker could be really great for Norfolk this season. Unfortunately, with Phoenix still being a young QB and clearly the Liberty's future barring anything unexpected he might be best of testing free agency in the future. Either way, with his attitude and work rate I'm confident he'll be top of his position in time if he has the patience to hold on until then.
Rd. 16 pick 6 - Buster Brownce, DE / Rd. 10 pick 5 - San Jose Sabercats
I would be lying if I said I knew Brownce very well, he's not the most active guy but he's here and he's alive. He'll likely do well for Norfolk next season given they have some holes on the defensive line they need to fill. Jacob if you read this I love you and think you're a baller.
So I'm gonna call it there since we start getting into people I've either never heard of or know to have become inactive. If you got drafted after this and you're still kicking around post a comment here saying something and I'll edit you in. This Norfolk class is an extremely active and skilled lot, with several of them getting called right up for their rookie NSFL seasons. You should keep your eye on the names in this list, cause many of them are going to win trophies and awards galore, I promise you that.
