Agent Tesla: Hello and good time appropriate greeting dear readers of the National Simulation Football League! I am here today to introduce the first installment of Agent Tesla's National Simulation Football League Week in Review! Since this is the first installment we are not entirely sure what all we are going to cover in this series, however I hope you will join us for the exciting journey nonetheless. Joining me today is my client in the National Simulation Football League and starting defensive tackle for the New Orleans Second Line Magnus Rikiya!
Magnus Rikiya: Hello everyone. Happy to be here.
Agent Tesla: Also joining us for the first time courtesy of one of my new jobs as a member of the league is a representative of the simulation itself. Say hello to the people Sim Rep!
Sim Rep:
Agent Tesla: Perfect! Before we get into this article specifically I will say I have been announced as a new member of the rookie mentor team in addition to still being a media grader. So if you have any questions for a rookie mentor, any questions for a media grader, or perhaps questions that could use the unique touch of both then please feel free to message me either here or on Discord. All that out of the way let us dive into the first game of the week for New Orleans!
Magnus Rikiya: Quick comment before we do that. Isn't our first game a week by itself?
Agent Tesla: A week for you, yes, but a week for the readers and I not so much. We in fact get several games per week, although you do not need to worry about that.
Magnus Rikiya: Wait, what?
Agent Tesla: Sim Rep tell us about the game!
Sim Rep: Week One New Orleans Second Line at San Jose Sabercats. Sabercats put up seven, sixteen, zero, and seven for a final score of thirty. Second Line put up zero, zero, fourteen, and seven for a final score of twenty-one. San Jose over New Orleans thirty to twenty-one.
Agent Tesla: Oof.
Magnus Rikiya: We kicked it into gear in the second half thanks to Rector, Blaylock, and Dissector. Huge shout out to those three for righting the ship after that awful first half. However it was unfortunately too late to get us the win.
Agent Tesla: Agreed on all counts. Now Sim Rep tell us who was the offensive player of the game according to the sim!
Sim Rep: Offensive player of the game is Jamar Lackson running back for the San Jose Sabercats. Thirty-two rushing attempts for 118 yards, two touchdowns, and an average rush of 3.7 yards with a long of 11 yards.
Agent Tesla: No denying that Jamar Lackson has really picked it up as my last media piece detailed, but I want to highlight his play here for one specific reason. He only had thirty-two touches as he was wholly focused on running the ball. Up against one of the best running teams in the league thanks to the tremendously talented tandem of Gump and Toriki. Despite this he outran the two of them by 25 yards! Sure he may not have been the most efficient doing it, but when you can outperform two of the best by yourself you more than earned your accolades. Genuinely from their six yard run for a first down in the first quarter, their two two yard touchdowns runs in the second quarter, and all the way to their runs in the fourth quarter that killed the clock they more than earned it.
Magnus Rikiya: I hate that you are right about all of that, but credit where it is due. Lackson had an outstanding game, and especially outstanding for a rookie. Ran all over us even if we did manage to make the tackles as he kept the chains moving through the first half and the clock running throughout.
Agent Tesla: Agreed. Now Sim Rep tell us who the sim awarded defensive player of the game please!
Sim Rep: Defensive player of the game is Brendan Lanier strong safety for the San Jose Sabercats. Eight tackles, two sacks, and one safety.
Agent Tesla: A solid stat line and so I can see why the sim would award them with defensive player of the game. Just the first quarter alone they had a tackle of Ed Barker that saved a touchdown and a big sack that helped force a punt. The big highlight for Lanier though came in the second quarter where they got the safety that secured them the defensive player of the game title.
Magnus Rikiya: I might disagree with this one on who was the defensive player of the game, but I cannot disagree that Lanier did a great job. They were a huge part of keeping us off the board through the first half and that safety that led to a long touchdown drive was a big part of breaking our backs to keep us from making a comeback. Brutal, but effective.
Agent Tesla: Who would you give it to Magnus?
Magnus Rikiya: Mason Blaylock. Nine tackles, one sack, one pass defended, and one interception. That interception in the third led to our second touchdown of the day and was a big part of the swing in momentum. Then he had a sack in the fourth that forced a punt that could have given us the win. Instead our offense went three and out thanks to a drop and good defensive line play, and when we punted they were able to take it to the house. Swing that touchdown the other way though and the game goes to New Orleans. Blaylock deserves credit for their game even if the rest of us messed it up.
Agent Tesla: Fair enough. I will say I agree that Mason had a good game, but I am happy to side with the sim in this instance. Now for the segment of the game that we get to carry over from our series last season. Which for those who do not know is where my client Magnus Rikiya tells us all about who he swapped jerseys with after the game. So do tell us all about it Magnus!
Magnus Rikiya: Now this is someone who I was thrilled to be able to swap jerseys with as we have an interesting shared moment. We are both defensive tackles, both went second overall, and both went after a secondary player. Big thanks to Otis Allen for agreeing to swap jerseys with me after the game! How well he helped shut down our run game I figure it is only fair, but I did appreciate him being nice about it.
Agent Tesla: Excellent! I will second that thanks as we truly do appreciate the people who agree to these jersey swaps. You all have helped make the series we have done possible and we appreciate it. Now with the biggest game of the first week inside the sim how about you tell us how the rest of the teams did Sim Rep!
Sim Rep: Orange County Otters at Arizona Outlaws. Orange County Otters put up 33 over the Arizona Outlaws 23. Offensive player of the game is running back Tatsu Nakamura of the Orange County Otters. Defensive player of the game is linebacker Stanislaw Koniecpolski of the Arizona Outlaws.
Austin Copperheads at Honolulu Hahalua. Austin Copperheads put up 37 over the Honolulu Hahalua 17. Offensive player of the game is running back Ke'oke'o Kane-Maika'i of the Honolulu Hahalua. Defensive player of the game is strong safety Takeda Okura of the Austin Copperheads.
Philadelphia Liberty at Colorado Yeti. Colorado Yeti put up 19 over the Philadelphia Liberty 17. Offensive player of the game is kicker Silver Banana of the Colorado Yeti. Defensive player of the game is linebacker Mo Berry of the Colorado Yeti.
Yellowknife Wraiths at Baltimore Hawks. Baltimore Hawks put up 24 over the Yellowknife Wraiths 23. Offensive player of the game is quarterback Chika Fujiwara of the Baltimore Hawks. Defensive player of the game is linebacker Douglas Quaid of the Yellowknife Wraiths.
Sarasota Sailfish at Chicago Butchers. Sarasota Sailfish put up 20 over the Chicago Butchers 9. Offensive player of the game is quarterback Dexter Banks II of the Sarasota Sailfish. Defensive player of the game is linebacker Hingle McCringleberry of the Chicago Butchers.
Agent Tesla: Some interesting names listed here, although nothing I would say is a huge upset given the potency of home field advantage when it comes to this game. Any comments on all this Magnus?
Magnus Rikiya: Tatsu Nakamura tearing it up does not surprise me since I got to play with him back in college. Silver Banana doing well is nice since he is on my fantasy team, thanks! Mo Berry making another case for most valuable player of the year it seems. Chika Fujiwara has made a step forward in her sophomore season and I have to say I respect it. Also props to Dexter Banks II for filling the role so well for the Sarasota Sailfish. Overall I would say this was a pretty good week of football.
Agent Tesla: I would have to agree with you there as this was quite the exciting week overall. The best games though I would say were out of conference as the Philadelphia Liberty at Colorado Yeti game and Yellowknife Wraiths at Baltimore Hawks games being decided by a total of three points is the epitome of good football in my opinion.
Magnus Rikiya: I can agree with you there. It is also good to see teams that missed out on the playoffs last year playing the top teams of their conference from last year so closely between the Liberty getting within two points and the Hawks managing to slip by with a one point win.
Agent Tesla: Excellent! Now onto the next week of the week! Sim Rep tell us about the next game!
Sim Rep: Week Two Austin Copperheads at New Orleans Second Line. Copperheads put up seven, six, zero, and three for a final score of sixteen. Second Line put up seven, twenty-four, seven, and seven for a final score of forty-five. New Orleans over Austin forty-five to sixteen.
Agent Tesla: Austin swept New Orleans last season and looked to be in a comparable position this season which impacted my confidence going into this game. However the fact that my boss and the general manager of Austin decided to get snarky about week one I was very much hoping that the Second Line would be able to get the win here. Revenge games are the best games and I think we did a great job of that here. What are your thoughts Magnus?
Magnus Rikiya: Well your boss got their comeuppance and I am happy to have been able to contribute with my two tackles. Genuinely every level of the team stepped it up here as you have to do to be able to beat a team like the Copperheads by four scores. Not sure how the second quarter went so well for us, but I am thrilled we never took our foot off the gas after that.
Agent Tesla: Agreed on all counts. Now onto offensive player of the game Sim Rep!
Sim Rep: Offensive player of the game is running back Forrest Gump of the New Orleans Second Line. Eighteen rushing attempts for 64 yards, one touchdown, and an average rush of 3.6 yards with a long of 10 yards. Four receptions for 68 yards, one touchdown, and an average reception of 17 yards with a long of 42 yards.
Agent Tesla: Run Forrest run. Honestly twenty-two touches for 132 yards and two touchdowns is an outstanding stat line for old man Gump. Started it off with a ten yard run on second and eight in the first quarter that helped lead to the first touchdown of the day for New Orleans. Stepped it up with a forty-four yard kick return that would set the team up in good position for their first touchdown of the second quarter. Carried it in with a seven yard touchdown run on first and goal in the third quarter. Then capped it off with an eight yard touchdown reception on third and goal in the fourth quarter. Key contributions in every quarter of the game and I have to give him credit where it is due as he was such an integral part of the offense this game.
Magnus Rikiya: No arguments from me there. Just outstanding in every form of play you can ask of a running back. Not sure what the coaches did if I am entirely honest, but it seems like they managed to light a fire under him that completely changed up our offense.
Agent Tesla: Austin may have a sim savant, but it looks like we have some superb sim stars as well. Based on what I have been told it may be a Marcus Allen case where Gump was willing to play any given position just to see the field more and so he was able to tally some impressive stats. Which might have helped the other terrific titan of the tandem T?riki to their electric eight rushes for 54 yards and two touchdowns on a superb 6.8 yard average rush. After getting shutdown in week one these two decided to remind the league why they are the best tandem in football.
Magnus Rikiya: I am not about to complain about that. Those two really stepped it up, although I do want to shout out McCormick and Barker who both had good games as well. Offense lit it up this game and made it so much easier on us defensive players.
Agent Tesla: Perfectly fine with seconding that shout out as those two did wonderfully as well. Now onto defensive player of the game Sim Rep!
Sim Rep: Defensive player of the game is linebacker Ugarth the Dissector of the New Orleans Second Line. Thirteen tackles, one sack, and one pass defended.
Agent Tesla: Ooh. I love Ugarth and I think that they did a great job this game thanks to their terrific tackling throughout. Their first quarter sack was an important one to set the tone even if the drive ended in a touchdown, and their pass break up on second and seven in the third quarter arguably set up Mason Blaylock for the interception on third down. Definitely contributed, but I think the award belongs elsewhere.
Magnus Rikiya: Ugarth did an outstanding job and I have no problem with giving him credit for that. However taking totality of the game into account I have to give it to Mason Blaylock. Six tackles, one pass defended, and the aforementioned interception make it a close comparison already. What puts Blaylock over the top for me though is their 105 yard kick return for a touchdown in the second quarter. It was seventeen to thirteen when that happened and it seemed to drain some of the life out of the Copperheads. They had two penalties on the ensuing drive that they were unable to get back from and then Andrew Witten blocked the punt.
Agent Tesla: You know how I feel about good safety play, but even without that I am inclined to side with you here. While the sim gives the award to Ugarth and we agree with him having had a good game. Our award for defensive player of the game goes to Mason Blaylock by virtue of special teams deserving recognition as well.
Magnus Rikiya: Agreed. Also shout out to Andrew Witten for the blocked punt on that note.
Agent Tesla: Shout out seconded. Now onto the best segment of our show I would say the jersey swap segment. If you are unaware of what that is then please scroll back up to read what we covered in week one. Thank you. Now I will let you take it from here Magnus to tell me all about who you swapped jerseys with this time around.
Magnus Rikiya: One of the best wide receivers of the massive season twenty-two class and a friend of mine Eddie Jeeta. He was kind enough to agree to swap jerseys with me after the game. Honestly he was one of the people I wanted to swap with last season before a few things happened that made me postpone the request, but thankfully he was happy to agree to the trade.
Agent Tesla: Thank you Eddie Jeeta and thank you Magnus as I know what you are referencing there. Now Sim Rep tell us the rest of the games of the week!
Sim Rep: Colorado Yeti at Baltimore Hawks. Colorado Yeti put up 33 over the Baltimore Hawks 27. Offensive player of the game is quarterback Wolfie McDummy of the Colorado Yeti. Defensive player of the game is linebacker Derred De Ville of the Baltimore Hawks.
Sarasota Sailfish at Yellowknife Wraiths. Yellowknife Wraiths put up 17 over the Sarasota Sailfish 6. Offensive player of the game is running back Acura Skyline of the Yellowknife Wraiths. Defensive player of the game is free safety Johnny Hellzapoppin of the Yellowknife Wraiths.
Chicago Butchers at Philadelphia Liberty. Chicago Butchers put up 19 over the Philadelphia Liberty 17. Offensive player of the game is running back Julio Tirtawidjaja of the Chicago Butchers. Defensive player of the game is free safety Hamish MacAndrew of the Chicago Butchers.
Honolulu Hahalua at Orange County Otters. Orange County Otters put up 41 over the Honolulu Hahalua 6. Offensive player of the game is quarterback Franklin Armstrong of the Orange County Otters. Defensive player of the game is Korrin Abernathy of the Orange County Otters.
Arizona Outlaws at San Jose Sabercats. Arizona Outlaws put up 24 over the San Jose Sabercats 13. Offensive player of the game is quarterback Jay Cue of the Arizona Outlaws. Defensive player of the game is linebacker Galf Wilf of the Arizona Outlaws.
Agent Tesla: You made a note that there was something you wanted to say about this immediately and so I will give the floor to you.
Magnus Rikiya: Sam Sidekick! Four for four on field goals and put up the majority of points for their team the Chicago Butchers. Just an outstanding job and one that deserves recognition as we have commented before on special teams being worthy of more recognition.
Agent Tesla: I can agree they did an outstanding job for the Butchers to get the win over the Liberty. Also interesting note from that game is the Liberty have had the exact same final score in both of their two games. What are the odds of two 19 to 17 games in a row, honestly?
Magnus Rikiya: It is definitely neat, but I feel for my friends on the Liberty given they were on the receiving end of two losses because of it.
Agent Tesla: Yes! Sorry Liberty friends. One nice thing to note from all of this information is the New Orleans Second Line now have the highest single game score of the season thus far.
Magnus Rikiya: Which is especially impressive after Franklin Armstrong demonstrated he has still got it against the Honolulu Hahalua.
Agent Tesla: Completely agree with you there. Sim Rep please do move us along to next week and tell us about the next game!
Sim Rep: Week Three New Orleans Second Line at Arizona Outlaws. Outlaws put up zero, seven, three, and seven for a final score of seventeen. Second Line put up three, seven, seven, and three for a final score of twenty. New Orleans over Arizona twenty to seventeen.
Agent Tesla: This was a considerably close game that was won off the back of a 25 yard field goal in the fourth quarter by Prohaska. These are the types of games that we follow the sport for though as exciting lead changes in the fourth quarter are quite possibly the most entertaining experience we have available to us in this day and age.
Magnus Rikiya: Prohaska had a rough year last season, but was four for four on kicks tonight including a forty yard field goal in the first quarter. Overall though this was a tough game as befits a game between two top teams. Great job by Arizona to make it that close, but thankfully we were able to eke out a win here.
Agent Tesla: Fully agree this was just a great game all around. Now onto offensive player of the game Sim Rep!
Sim Rep: Offensive player of the game is wide receiver Saba Donut of the Arizona Outlaws. Six receptions for 102 yards, an average reception of 17 yards and a long of 34 yards.
Agent Tesla: Saba Donut is definitely an understandable selection for the award as the only player to break a hundred yards from scrimmage. He also had one of the biggest plays of the day in the form of that 34 yard reception on a first and ten in the second quarter. However I believe you made a note that you disagree with the sim here.
Magnus Rikiya: Saba definitely had a good day, but New Orleans' own Ed Barker had only one fewer reception for three fewer yards. Five receptions for 99 yards, an average of 19.8 yards and a long of 35 yards. That increased efficiency is enough that I feel like it is a competition between the two.
Agent Tesla: I will give it a split vote then. They both did an outstanding job for their teams and deserve recognition for it. Now for the defensive player of the game Sim Rep!
Sim Rep: Defensive player of the game is free safety Quinn Hughes of the Arizona Outlaws. Three tackles, one sack, one pass defended, and one interception returned for a touchdown.
Agent Tesla: Their thirty-six yard interception return touchdown came in the fourth quarter to tie the game up and so I understand why the sim went with Quinn Hughes here, however I have reason to be hesitant to hand it to them despite their good performance here. So you said you had a New Orleans player that you could defend as more deserving of the award and I will leave it to you.
Magnus Rikiya: Andrew Witten had six tackles, one sack, one forced fumble, one fumble recovery, two passes defended, and an interception. Twice as many tackles, twice as many passes defended, and twice as many takeaways. The idea that he does not deserve the award is absolute hogwash. Especially as his interception return was forty-three yards and he only got stopped on the one yard line. That one yard does not do enough to differentiate the outstanding performance by Witten and I believe every bit of recognition as there is no way we win this game without him.
Agent Tesla: Well I expected you to have a decent case for him, but genuinely hearing it I have to wholeheartedly agree. I did not think he would have quite literally double the stat line of Hughes outside of the touchdown. Honestly being tackled at the one is not something that a defensive player should ever be penalized for given they are not used to carrying the ball. Witten had a wonderful game and I am happy to hand him the award from us at least. Now onto our jersey segment once again, and it is one that I am quite excited about so take it away Magnus!
Magnus Rikiya: I got to trade with quite possibly the best up and coming quarterback in the league Jay Cue! One of the most exciting quarterbacks to watch today according to my amazing agent and so I made sure to request a swap with him after the game. He was super nice about the whole thing and honestly I was really impressed by how well he handled it after the game. A really enjoyable experience that I am happy to have gotten to have in my second year in the league. Thanks Jay Cue!
Agent Tesla: I will second that thanks as I quite appreciate your agreement. Now Sim Rep tell us how the rest of the league did through week three!
Sim Rep: Chicago Butchers at Yellowknife Wraiths. Yellowknife Wraiths put up 54 over the Chicago Butchers 0. Offensive player of the game is running back Acura Skyline of the Yellowknife Wraiths. Defensive player of the game is strong safety Chase Jensen of the Yellowknife Wraiths.
Baltimore Hawks at Philadelphia Liberty. Philadelphia Liberty put up 51 over the Baltimore Hawks 17. Offensive player of the game is quarterback Brock Phoenix of the Philadelphia Liberty. Defensive player of the game is linebacker Wayne Howyanow of the Philadelphia Liberty.
Colorado Yeti at Sarasota Sailfish. Sarsota Sailfish put up 29 over the Colorado Yeti 24. Offensive player of the game is fullback Dax Frost of the Sarasota Sailfish. Defensive player of the game is free safety Thor Kirby of the Colorado Yeti.
Orange County Otters at Austin Copperheads. Orange County Otters put up 31 over the Austin Copperheads 24. Offensive player of the game is quarterback Franklin Armstrong of the Orange County Otters. Defensive player of the game is defensive end Slinky Claxton of the Austin Copperheads.
San Antonio Sabercats at Honolulu Hahalua. Honolulu Hahalua put up 35 over the San Jose Sabercats 7. Offensive player of the game is running back Ruff Ruff of the Honolulu Hahalua. Defensive player of the game is free safety Shawn Dawkins of the Honolulu Hahalua.
Agent Tesla: Some really lopsided results this week between the Yellowknife Chicago game and the Philadelphia Baltimore game. Especially surprising for Philadelphia as they apparently figured out their offensive woes just in time to demolish Baltimore on the back of Brock Phoenix. Also notice another fantastic fantasy selection of yours Dax Frost had a good game over your fantasy defense of Colorado.
Magnus Rikiya: Congratulations to Yellowknife for the largest score discrepancy I can recall having seen in my time playing football. Interesting week overall I have to say, but not a lot of huge surprises when it comes to the player of the game awards.
Agent Tesla: I can agree with that as quite a lot of recognizable names here. That said we are onto the next week Sim Rep!
Sim Rep: Week Four Honolulu Hahalua at New Orleans Second Line. Hahalua put up seven, zero, fourteen, and zero for a final score of twenty-one. Second Line put up seven, fourteen, zero, and three for a final score of twenty-four. New Orleans over Honolulu twenty-four to twenty-one.
Agent Tesla: Back to back weeks decided by fourth quarter field goals. Another close game that is why we follow the sport! So tell me how did it feel Magnus?
Magnus Rikiya: It does not do the heart good is what I will say. The fact that we were able to rally both times though is an exquisite experience. This was also the first game I managed more than a couple of tackles so I am especially happy that we won. Also huge thanks to Prohaska for managing the fifty-five yard field goal to get us the win in the closing seconds of the game.
Agent Tesla: I can respect that and will second the thanks as well. Now Sim Rep tell us about the first player of the game?
Sim Rep: Offensive player of the game is running back Marcella T?riki of the New Orleans Second Line. Twenty-three rushing attempts for 110 yards, a touchdown, and an average run of 4.8 yards and a long of 26 yards.
Agent Tesla: Hell's bells Marcella! A twenty-six yard run on third and three in the first quarter! A nice twelve yard run just a few plays later on a first and ten! A five yard touchdown run in the second quarter! An eleven yard run on second and ten in the second quarter! Simply sublime!
Magnus Rikiya: I admit I am really impressed by her performance here and am happy to have her win the award, however I feel like you might be a bit too happy about it.
Agent Tesla: Entirely possible! After all the near highlights she had last season though to see her break a twenty yard run is just excellent and I am so happy about it!
Magnus Rikiya: Fair enough. She definitely deserves the award here as there were no complaints to be had about her game and so I am happy to second the sim!
Agent Tesla: Indeed! Now for defensive player of the game Sim Rep!
Sim Rep: Defensive player of the game is defensive end Ben Tu'inukuafe of the New Orleans Second Line. Ten tackles, three for loss, and two sacks.
Agent Tesla: Ben had a seven yard sack on second and nine in the first quarter to help force a punt. Along with a sack on second and three in the fourth quarter to help force a punt. One could argue that second sack was integral to the win, and I will say his overall play absolutely award winning.
Magnus Rikiya: I can second that given how often he stopped them on their runs. Then add in those two decisive plays and it is clear that he deserves the nod as defensive player of the game.
Agent Tesla: Glad we can agree again. Now onto who you swapped jerseys with this game Magnus!
Magnus Rikiya: I got to swap jerseys with a former teammate who I hear has taken quite well to their new location Jack Banks. A fellow former Seawolf and a terrific teammate during my time back then. Thrilled to have gotten the opportunity to do this swap and I stand by my hope to eventually complete the set of season twenty-two Seawolves. Thank you for helping me on my way Jack and hope you continue to enjoy Honolulu!
Agent Tesla: A noble goal that I fully support. Also will throw in a seconding of the thanks and the hope for Jack to continue to enjoy his time with the team. Now tell us about the rest of week four Sim Rep!
Sim Rep: Yellowknife Wraiths at Colorado Yeti. Yellowknife Wraiths put up 24 over the Colorado Yeti 16. Offensive player of the game is quarterback Cooter Bigsby of the Yellowknife Wraiths. Defensive player of the game is linebacker Douglas Quaid of the Yellowknife Wraiths.
Baltimore Hawks at Chicago Butchers. Baltimore Hawks put up 16 over the Chicago Butchers 3. Offensive player of the game is running back Darrel Williams of the Baltimore Hawks. Defensive player of the game is linebacker Hingle McCringleberry of the Chicago Butchers.
Philadelphia Liberty at Sarasota Sailfish. Philadelphia Liberty put up 24 over the Sarasota Sailfish 23. Offensive player of the game is fullback Dax Frost of the Sarasota Sailfish. Defensive player of the game is linebacker Warren Stephens of the Philadelphia Liberty.
San Jose Sabercats at Orange County Otters. San Jose Sabercats put up 20 over the Orange County Otters 17. Offensive player of the game is fullback Jeffrey Phillips of the Orange County Otters. Defensive player of the game is linebacker Inspectah Deck of the Orange County Otters.
Arizona Outlaws at Austin Copperheads. Austin Copperheads put up 33 over the Arizona Outlaws 29. Offensive player of the game is quarterback Jay Cue of the Arizona Outlaws. Defensive player of the game is free safety Quinn Hughes of the Arizona Outlaws.
Agent Tesla: A much better slate of games for week four as just one game had more than a one score difference and we will just not talk about that one. So congratulations to the Liberty winning a nail biter by just a point! Any comments you have about the games Magnus?
Magnus Rikiya: San Jose beating Orange County in Orange County is probably the most impressive game of the week. Especially when you look and see that the offensive player of the game and the defensive player of the game were both on the Orange County side. Outside of that it is nice to see some familiar names and a few new ones as well.
Agent Tesla: I can agree with all of that. Now since this is a new series I am not entirely sure what all we are going to do throughout every iteration of it, but I did decide that I would like to see about keeping a running tally of who wins offensive player of the game awards and defensive player of the game awards throughout the season. Might make for something interesting to talk about. So Sim Rep tally that up for me!
Sim Rep: Acura Skyline. Franklin Armstrong, Jay Cue, and Dax Frost have all won two offensive player of the game awards.
Jamar Lackson, Tatsu Nakamura, Ke'oke'o Kane-Maik'i, Silver Banana, Chika Fujiwara, Dexter Banks II, Forrest Gump, Wolfie McDummy, Julio Tirtawidjaja, Saba Donut, Brock Phoenix, Ruff Ruff, Marcella T?riki, Cooter Bigsby, Darrel Williams, and Jeffrey Phillips have all won one offensive player of the game award.
Douglas Quaid, Hingle McCringleberry, and Quinn Hughes have all won two defensive player of the game awards.
Brendan Lanier, Stanislaw Koniecpolski, Takeda Okura, Mo Berry, Ugarth the Dissector, Derred De Ville, Johnny Hellzapoppin, Hamish MacAndrew, Korrin Abernathy, Galf Wilf, Chase Jensen, Wayne Howyanow, Thor Kirby, Slinky Claxton, Shawn Dawkins, Ben Tu'inukuafe, Warren Stephens, and Inspectah Deck have all won one defensive player of the game award.
Agent Tesla: Extraordinarily early running for offensive player of the year then might just be a four way race and meanwhile defensive player of the year has a few people angling for it. Although I readily expect Mo Berry to win a few more awards as the season progresses.
Magnus Rikiya: Three quarters of the season left to go and so plenty of time for people to move up the rankings.
Agent Tesla: Indeed! Now as I am both a rookie mentor and media grader I have put in work to do a Developmental Simulation Football League Week in Review article that got posted yesterday. The end of it I included two recommendations of media in the league worth giving a look and so I am going to take a page from myself to do the same thing here. Also will repeat what I said there that this is shamelessly stolen from Sylphreni, although with my focus being on league media since I do not watch many movies or much television these days.
So I could go the prideful option and recommend that you read my other week in review article, however much as I might like my own media I am happy to say that there are some better options to look at this time around. There are two articles I want to highlight this week, although maybe technically three is the proper one to go with here. Going to just jump into it though as the first article I would recommend is 'NSFL 1OA Picks and their DSFL draft position' by DarknessRising. It was a really interesting article in my opinion and despite being short it was a fun read. It is exactly what it claims to be and it is very much worth a read.
I also want to recommend 'A Closer Look at the Definitive NSFL Team Rankings' by Modern_Duke and by extension 'Definitive NSFL Team Rankings' by SchwarzNarr. The original article by SchwarzNarr is absolutely fantastic and is one hundred percent worth the read. However it is definitely made better by the companion piece to it made by Modern_Duke. Love them both and I am pretty sure that you will have an enjoyable time if you take the time to read them both.
So with all of our currently projected segments covered is there anything else you want to say to the people before we sign off for the day Magnus?
Magnus Rikiya: Thanks to everyone who agreed to swap jerseys with me these first few games of the season and to anyone who took the time to read this. Appreciate all of you.
Agent Tesla: Yes! Thank you to anyone who has read any of this article. Also special thanks to KoltClassic, @QuirkyTurtle, Opera_Phantom, and @TheRocheLimit for agreeing to the jersey swaps. This style of series has been really enjoyable for me to work on and I appreciate you all for agreeing to be involved in it immensely. So thank you so much for that!
All that said I hope that if you are still reading this that you have a most wonderful day and that you will join us again next time. Hope to see you then!
