So Jamar how's it going buddy. Nice to sit down with the ydg leading rusher. Been a great addition to the team. And a steal in the draft. How's you doing buddy?
I'm doing great, and thanks for the interview, I am doing pretty good at the moment, for the reason that you said, with currently being the rushing yards leader, although there are a lot of other running backs right on my tail. I'd like to state here that you have also been a huge steal for the Cats as well, filling a void in the secondary in the late rounds is always worth of a steal tag in my opinion.
We have had a interesting season in my opinion. We're young and just missing some experience and improvement to really get us to that next step. How do you feel about the team so far and the season?
Well, as most expected this has been a down year by record so far, but there is always positives to look at, like my rookie campaign having OROTY potential, and also just building chemistry with the other young members of the offense like Montery "Monty" Jack, the quarterback, along with a "veteran" compared to our team's youth, Deondre Thomas-Fox, and my former Grey Duck teammate, Tychondrius Hood. Overall, we have showed potential in a season that could be seen as a bad one, where we see it as a season of growth for our young and budding team.
I'm playing a different position this year to help out our team and feel like it's been a adjustment. Overall how do you feel the jump from DSFL to NSFL has effected you? You broke a run over 20yds finally so gotta be a good jump!
I think getting that 26 yard rush against Honolulu was one of the most relieving things that I have done in my career, as I was convinced that my legs would never let me go 20+ yards, as I had never done it in the "easier" league, for the Grey Ducks in the DSFL, and I think a big reason we did not succeed as a team during my tenure there. But getting to the NSFL and tearing up my own expectations has me only more excited for the future, as this is just my rookie season, and I feel I have lots of room to improve over my long career that I envision having.
Of course. So you come in at the mid way point leading the league in rushing yds. Top 10 in TDs and Avg. Did you see yourself being this productive so fast? What would you like to improve on for the second half?
I did not expect to be preforming at the level I am this quickly, and whether or not that's just other teams not being ready to gameplan against me, or I am just having a lucky streak, I am very okay with having a productive season so far, and proving thqat I was worth the draft pick back in the loaded S22 draft. As for the second half of the year, I hope to keep my small but managable lead in the rushing yards for the season, but with Hanyadi, Nakamura, and Tirtawijaja all pushing me to the limit, I just hope to keep my pace up, and hopefully get a few more wins to play spoiler for a couple of teams in their playoff hunts and possibly make the playoffs ourselves, which would be impressive for a team as young as us. Overall, I just hope to keep my pace up and improve my game as my season continues.
As long as your improving that's all that matters. What goals did you have for yourself the first half of the season and how did they work out? Any goals for the second half? I can't imagine what else you'd want to accomplish.
I have had the goal of getting my team to a respectable record to build on for the future, but a bit of a personal/selfish goal of mine would be to win an award, and I do believe that I am on page for OROTY, and that would make this "bad" season filled with hidden positives even better for me personally. My goal for the second half is to win a couple more games, or as many as it takes for HeHateMe PickSix's bets to pay out in his favor, and continue on my pace to win an award.
Lastly, just to know. Can you change a oil filter?
Of course I can, I couldn't imagine having a teammate who couldn't change an oil filter, shout out Tyron Shields who I believe this question is referencing. Thanks again for the interview!
Thank you sir. Enjoy the holiday with your family and Go Cats!
