Charity Drive - ISFL Does Good For A Change

CROSSOVER SIM LEAGUE CHARITY EVENT! ISFL

Many of you in other leagues know this already, but the ISFL will be participating a multi-league charity fundraising event with our affiliates. There was vast support for civil rights charities across all of the leagues, and so we're proud to announce that we will be supporting the National Association for the Advancement for Colored People (NAACP)! We in the Head Office fully support the vision of the NAACP (which you can read here) and are excited to help them achieve their goals.

The Details

We're aiming to hold this event during the next week, from Monday, July 27th to Friday, July 31st, culminating in some sort of live stream event that Friday night. During this period, you can donate to the NAACP using our Tiltify page (which is still being built - so stay tuned!).

This is all subject to change, but those dates are our goals at the moment.

Perks and Auctions

We will be having a variety of perks throughout this event that you can either get outright through donations, or you can get through auction bidding. For example, you can bid on a custom sig created just for you that anyone can use, or you can bid on what to set my Discord nickname in General chat to be! We're hoping to get a large variety of things to bid on, which I will touch upon a bit later in this post.

All of this will take place in the S24 Charity forum. You can read the RULES HERE and the HOW TO HERE - but the TL;DR is that all bidding and perk claiming will have to occur in the appropriate thread. Perks can be claimed immediately through Tiltify, but make sure to confirm that you selected the perk in the thread. Auction donations do not need to be made until the auction is over.

There will also be Milestone Goals - perks that everyone will get if our charity drive reaches a certain total amount of donations. We're still working on finalizing some of these, but we're hoping that these milestones will be exciting for you!

NOTE: IF YOU WIN YOUR AUCTION, YOU ARE EXPECTED TO MAKE THAT DONATION. DO NOT BID IF YOU CANNOT AFFORD TO DONATE THAT AMOUNT.

NOTE 2: IF YOU WIN AN AUCTION, HO AND/OR THE PARTICIPATING USER RESERVE THE RIGHT TO VETO INAPPROPRIATE SUGGESTIONS FOR ANY REASON DEEMED FIT.

We need YOUR help!

There are a few things we need from you as a community to make sure this charity drive is successful!

FIRST: Do you have something that the community can bid on or serve as a perk? Let me know! The more interesting perks and auctions we have, the better!

(I think we are good on profile picture and nickname changes at this point.)

SECOND: We need to figure out what the Friday livestream will be! Would you rather see a telethon-style livestream with some league members hosting, a mini tournament from user-created teams where the winner gets a donation to a charity of their choice, or something else? We want to hear your input.

Okay. I think that's it for now. I do want to point out that if you do not have the financial stability to donate, I would highly recommend looking out for yourself first. While we want to raise lots of money for good causes, don't feel pressured to donate money if you know you cannot afford it.
